Sage had groggily plopped down at the counter, sipping at the water Mari poured him. However, when she started talking, he sort of just ....stared at her blankly for a few moments. He wasn't sure she noticed, since she was moving around the kitchen again, planning everything out. He definitely didn't process anything she was saying, but he could guess at it. He just nodded along blearily after a few moments, deciding his brain wouldnt catch it all but it would be fine.

Mari continued to hustle for a while, at least until she heard the floor boards creeking upstairs. She stood still for a moment very much like a deer in the headlights until she saw Silas waddling downstairs, fully dressed and dragging his schoolbag along with him. She watched him for a moment before shaking her head, grabbing the bag and hanging it up by the door. "No, sweetheart, you don't have to go in today," she told him gently. The boy just sort of stared at her before turning to the table to sit down. She frowned slightly, but hustled upstairs to see that Liz was at least awake before wandering back downstairs.

Sage was somewhat more awake by the time Silas wandered downstairs, though grunted slightly when Mari told him he didn't need to go to school. He rather agreed with her ..he didn't want to chance anything happening at the school with them there. He doubted the school would be a target of ...whatever this was, but still. He didn't want to risk it. He patted his leg, still sort of groggy but slowly waking up, and Silas moved to climb into his lap happily while Mari went to check on Liz.

Mari wandered back downstairs after a while, her eyes soft. Liz would be down when she was ready, she was sure. She settled down at the table, eating in about two minutes flat before starting to clear things up and what little mess she'd managed to make while cooking. "I'm going shopping this morning, before my shift.... do you need anything?" She asked Sage, waiting for a reply before heading back upstairs to get changed, then coming back down and slipping her shoes on.

Sage had mostly woken up once he'd eaten, and had glanced over at Mari when she took so little time to sit and eat. He shook his head on response to her question, though, humming in thought. "Don't think so," he noted, sliding Silas off his lap and moving to help clean up the dishes and whatnot. "I'll stay here with the kids, and see if your mom and brothers want to stop by for dinner," he added.
