Cassidy nodded "Okay, I'll try and find a deer or something for us. I might be gone for a few hours to track one and actually hunt it down. I'm small so I can't go for the biggest deer" even a small deer though would last them quite a while. It was only the two of them and both of their stomachs were small from barely eating during the apocalypse but with her help they could have a full meal everyday. "Maybe I will get lucky and find some fresh berries to pick. My pack taught me which ones are good to eat and which ones are poisonous" her pack taught her a lot growing up that she never thought would actually come in handy.

Sage thought for a minute and nodded. "Fine with me. I can...uh..make sure the fire doesn't go out," he chuckled, still feeling pretty useless. He didn't want to make Cass do all the work, but they really didn't have a choice here. "Just be careful while you're out there, alright?" He knew from experience that it was easy to focus oh hunting and not realize there was a zombie or something else nearby. And people would kill a wolf to eat...that though sickened him. Gosh, he had to stop thinking about that.

She tapped her nose "I'll smell them before they are even near me. Sometimes it's useful bit other times it isn't, especially when there is a rotting zombie carcass" she shivered at the thought. The smell always made her want to vomit, actually, any deathly smell made her want to vomit. "Are you worried about me Sage?" she teased "The lonely guy who seems to prefer being alone actually is worried?" she teased him and walked up to him to gently poke his chest. Cassidy had a grin I'm her face "I promise I'll be fine. You don't have to worry about me. I'm not ready to leave you yet" she giggled "You might be stuck with me forever so I hope you're ready for that."

Sage huffed out a breath and crossed his arms, feeling a blush spread across his face when she tested him. It only deepened when she poked his chest, though he honestly had no idea why. He gave her a playful pout. "Well I guess I'll have to put up with you then," he said, trying to keep a straight face. "I guess I can do that." He knew she could take care of herself, but he couldn't help but feel like the overprotective...what? Brother? No, that wasn't right. Boyfriend? No, they barely knew each other. Oh well.

"Is that a blush I see, Sage?" her smile only grew "You look adorable when you blush. You aren't so serious looking when you blush" she admitted. "Yep you have no choice. You have to put up with me because you are stuck with me" she stuck her tongue out at him and walked away with a giggle. Cassidy did think Sage looked pretty adorable when he blushed, especially since it let his guard down and softened his face. She walked over to the mouth of the cave and she reached out to touch the waterfall with the tip of her fingers.

Sage rolled his eyes in an act of bravado and snorted. "No," he protested. Then he grinned sheepishly. "Well...maybe a small one." The fact that she'd called him adorable only made the blush worse, too, so he had to think about how to respond for a few seconds. Ugh, why did he have to get so flustered? He could talk pretty darn smooth....until something like this happened where the person responded. And that little giggle didn't help things either...it was a cute noise, he had to admit, which only made it worse.

It was amusing to make Sage so flustered over such simple words but she knew his weakness now and she planned on using it against him more than once. Plus, it was a bonus if she could make him blush again. She wasn't lying either when she told him his blush was adorable. Cassidy sat down at the mouth of the cave and she let her feet hang over it while she listened to the waterfall in front of her. Her eyes closed and her hands gripped lightly the edge of the ledge and she exhaled a small breath. It was relaxing and it was nice having a safe place where she didn't have to worry about a zombie coming and eating her while she let her guard down.

Sage sat there for a bit before he threw some more wood on the fire to make sure it kept going for a while. He rolled over to the edge near the waterfall, where Cass was sitting. He rolled simply because it was close and his leg wasn't gonna let him walk and he didn't feel like crawling. It was nice to be able to relax and joke around a bit, even if he got flustered easy and still had a light blush dusting his cheeks.

(Should we maybe time skip to when his leg is healed?)
