Sage humemd softly in amusement, nodding his head along, slowly starting to wake up a bit more. "One thing at a time, Mari," he sort of groaned, though it was mostly in teasing. "I'm not hungry yet...let's get wound stuff over with and by then I'll probably be getting hungry for something," he decided with a smothered sort of yawn as he moved to haul himself up slowly into a sitting position. Mari helped, of course, but even so it took a lot of effort.

Mari gave a small smile after a moment before her head cocked. "Mhm, okay," she chirped. She just wanted to make sure he had everything ready for him... after all, he couldn't exactly do it for himself right now. He was on pain meds, but she still had a feeling he could still feel the tightness in his chest and back where they were starting to heal.. albeit slowly. She helped him up carefully before going to find some more plasters, bandages and some of the cremes he'd been given by the doctor. She helped him with his shirt before carefully starting to pull some of the bandages off.

Sage had moved to sit up, though he was grateful when Mari helped him. He wasn't sure he'd have been able to do it all himself very easily, or without hurting himself, but he didn't want to ask her for everything either. Either way, he was soon sitting up, and had worked to help Mari take the bandages off one at a time. He aort of blinked down at his torso, really only comprehending how bad it was now that he wasn't actively dying or anything. He moved his focus onwards though, since Mari was doing....something to the wounds, and he should probably pay attention.

Mari started to bandage him up in near silence, trying to focus on not hurting up - although, he was on enough meds that he probably didn't feel anything. She found herself working on his back and a few of the marks on his shoulders before sort of shifting to sit infront of him, her eyes landing on the rather gnarly wound on his chest, then rolling down the rest of his body. She pursed her lips before starting to put some of the mixture on his chest and patching him back up. "You look awful," she muttered slightly, a little bit of amusement lacing through her tone.

Sage let Mari work, knowing he wasn't going to be much help in terms of putting ointment on and such. When she moved to sit in front of him, he shifted slightly so she didn't have to reach quite so far and could sit a bit closer than initially. He chuckled in response to her comment, shrugging his shoulders slightly. "I feel better than I look," he mused. He knew it was only thanks to the meds the doctor had given him, but still. He felt ok.

Mari raised a brow up at him after a few moments before giving a small chuckle. "I'd like to think so," she hummed, pecking the top of his head once she'd managed to dress his chest back up again. He really didn't look great - his face had hollowed out a little, he was a little pale and he'd lost so much condition. On top of that, his injuries were nothing short of horrific. She looked up at him after a moment, helping him slip his shirt back on before carefully assisting him to lay back down.

Sage hummed in amusement in response to Maris comment, not really saying much else. He didn't need to....they worked together well even without talking. The quiet just worked for them. Once she'd finished up and laid him back down, he'd thought about asking for something to draw on or...something, but he was drifting off before the words even got to his mouth. It had taken a while to get him settled, he supposed, so a nap really wouldn't hurt.

Mari smiled softly as he settled down, and held his had quietly as he started to go down for a nap. She sayed until she was sue he was asleep before sighing and moving to go make some sort of food he could stomach... something that was better than the kitchen slop. She got something in the oven before going to see the kids and making sure they were all settled too before heading back over to the kitchen and getting everything together.

Sage had slept for a few hours, waking up slowly. He noticed the doctor in the room, working on organizing some stuff and all the rest. He grunted in greeting, and the doctor grunted back. He lay around half asleep for a while, though Edith wandered in to check on after a while, so he chatted with her for a while. The doctor was moving around the place, since there were now plenty of patients.

Mari balanced god knows how many plates on a little tray, hoping there was something there that might appease Sage. Anything, really. She greeted the doctor happily when she wandered into the ward, and flashed a sheepish grin. It almost felt like she should be sneaking food around, making sure no one got upset that they weren't all getting the same thing or whatever. It didn't matter, this was her husband and of course she was doing the best she could for him. She wandered into this little room and flashed him a grin when she spotted him awake, popping the tray down next to him with a happy smile.
