Abby smiled and slowly peeled herself from Rykers side. She knew she would move around too much. She quickly grabbed a booo and ran back into the room, sitting down and reading

Ryker was out, and he wasn't getting back up anytime soon. Hours upon hours later his eyelids slowly fluttered, and quickly opened as the pain returned in a wash of agony. He sucked in a sharp breath, the events of the past day rushing back to him, almost giving him a headache. The sound of the gunshot and the searing pain echoed through his head over and over until he squeezed his eyes shut and willed it to stop. When it did he breathed deeply for a moment before slowly pushing his legs out of bed, gritting his teeth with the pain, and limping out.

Abby accidentally fell asleep and didn't wake up until she heard the doubt is the bed creaking. Her eyes open as Ryker limped out of the room. "Ryker?" She asked softly

Ryker turned his dark gaze to Abby as she spoke. "Abby?" He asked in the same soft tone, a joking twinkle in his eyes. "See, you can sleep. It's possible." He teased lightly, walking over to lean up against the wall near her. "How'd you rest? And how are your hands doing?"

"I guess I can" she said as she closed her book. " I guess I slept good. My knuckles hurt really bad but you have to be hurting way worse" Abby sighed

Ryker limped over to sit down beside her on the couch with a slow breath out so he didn't yelp or groan or hiss. "You really shouldn't have punched her that hard." He pointed out. "Unless you practice, punching can be quite painful. You could've broken your knuckles. Also, never punch at their cheek, where the bone juts out. Always the nose. It's only cartilage, so it's hard but it isn't as hard as your bones." He explained quietly, taking her hand in his and glancing at it. "It'll heal though. And how can being shot not hurt? Honestly, I'll actually really be fine. The pain gets better every second." He offered a small smile.

"I did hit her in the nose. Atleast I think so. I don't know. I was angry..." Abby's gaze was on the floor.

Ryker gently turned her head towards him. "That day is in the past now, but thank you. And it'll stop hurting soon. As I said, all the pain only lessens from here. We can get through it together." He smiled as comfortingly as he could.

Abby have a weak smile "only we would go through something like this. Ooooonly us" she snorted at the thought then leaned against the back of the couch.

Ryker sighed slightly. "Look at the bright side. It'll only bring us closer together. Riiiight?" He asked with a small smile before leaning back himself and looking at the ceiling.
