Kai just stayed quiet, watching her and her mother. He kept his gaze soft, innocent.

Camery Valatieri - Camery went quiet after a moment, just sort of watching her mothers expression. She'd always trusted the woman, but there was something in her eyes right then she didn't quite get. It seemed like she was trying to be happy, but that dreep routed fear that all the Day kingdom had of the Night kingdom was there. It was in her eyes. She squeezed Kai's hand after a moment, and just tried to keep taking. "How did you meet again?" Her mother asked. "We were arrested while travelling to the Manor House. Kai found out and had them set us free... I chose to stay," she whispered quietly. "why?" her mothers face was contorting now. She looked like she was planning. She didn't seem happy at all... not like Cam hoped she'd be. It was clear she cared about the man. It was dimming her spirits more than she liked to admit. "I missed him - he was hurting. I didn't want to leave," she whispered a gently. "Okay. Well, thank you for telling me. I need to... talk with your father. Why don't you tell him at dinner?" The woman stood up and walked off after that, not leaving time for Cam to get another word in. She turned to Kai, her shoulders a little slumped. "I'm sorry," she murmured, feeling as though she'd almost failed him a little. She just wanted to show him off to her parents... she felt like she had to prove something, even if she didn't know what.

Malakai Negri - Kai gave her a soft look. He was nervous more than anything. He really wanted her parents to like him, but he probably should've seen that fear and judgement coming. "Its okay, Its not your fault,"

Camery Valatieri - cam looked up after a moment and huffed out a deflated breath. She. Thought her mother might at least pretend to be excited for her, at least for a little bit. The woman didn't even seem worried; and it was stressing her out a little. She gave him an apologetic look befor le dragging her feet back to her room with an annoyed breath of air.

Malakai Negri - Kai followed, holding her hand tightly. He sat on her bed once they were back in her room. "Cam? What if they don't like me?" he whispered, obviously very worried.

Camery Valatieri - Cam followed him quietly, her head hanging. She was so sure her mother at very lead would pretend supportive of it. Malakai was right up her street, too, so she was excited to show the man off... She gut just hoped that whatever it it was they get over it. Malakai was a nice guy, and h she hope he'd grow on them. They were good people. She sighed after a moment and flopped down on the bed next to him. She looked up mat him after a moment and offered a soft smile. "You'll grow on them. Just like you did with me," she murmured softly. She hoped they would, anyway. "And I like you just fine. It won't matter," she murmured softly. Edited at February 14, 2025 01:45 AM by Belle

Kai nodded. "Okay..." he said warily. He was still unsure and nervous about the whole thing.

Camery furrowed her brows gently after a moment. "Well, let's just go for dinner later. I don't want you walking around too much and worrying people," she whispered gently. She was sure it'd all work out... eventually, anyway. She could tell that he was worried. "Your family welcomed me with open arms, even if they were nervous. I expect nothing less from mine," she whispered.

Kai nodded, rolling over and curling into her, burying his face in her shoulder. "I love you," he murmured.

Camery smiled softly when he curled in, and ran her fingers softly up and down his back. "Let's put you in some nice clothes... get showered and things. It might make a better impression on my dad - he's the one you really need to worry about," she mused gently.
