Ella planted herself in the bed pretty much as soon as they had gotten into the room, staring at the clock aimlessly. It wasn't even 9pm yet, though she was sure the dinner had lasted much longer than it actually had. She watched as Sage got himself comfortable, her eyes completely zoned out to a blur though it made her look like she was watching him change. After a couple minutes of endless dumb thoughts she zoned back in, and after she had pulled herself back to reality, spoke. "Are you tired?" she asked, throwing out a random question as usual.

Sage hadn't really noticed much after she had flopped back onto the bed. He felt her gaze, though when he cocked his head at her and she didn't move or respond, he figured she was just tired so he shrugged and kept changing. He grunted and nodded when he heard her speak, wandering over to flop down onto the bed with a grunt. "Very," he mused, pulling the covers up a little bit. He was definitely more comfortable than before....and personally, he thought he honestly looked better in simple clothes than whatever they had him in before.

did you wanna skip to something else actually happening? e.g then going to another meal, something somewhat major happening?

We can do that, for sure! Maybe the castle gets attacked or something and sage winds up getting pretty hurt? And she sort of starts to figure out how much hea begining to mean to her? It could be a few months ahead of this if you'd like

The next few months had been rather...slow. Boring. But Sage had decided that they were certainly better than the months before Ella had come to the castle. They had started to get along rather well by then, and he'd come out of his shell quite a bit when it was just the two of them. He'd make jokes and laugh along with her, and give her his opinion here and there without being fearful of any potential consequesnses. He still stayed quiet and submissive when they weren't alone, since the other people in the castle were still awful, but life was definitely better than before. They were sort of just wandering around the trails in the garden as of right then, since spring was here and the weather was starting to get really nice.

The last few months had really settled Ella down quite some bit, and, when she didn't have to actually do..queen duties, she was very relaxed. Sage seemed like good fun, and she was beginning to fully relax around the guy, which she had sworn to herself would never happen when she first arrived at the palace. They'd grown somewhat quite close, and she was happy to see he had come out of his shell quite a lot. It was a plus that the palace was getting slightly more empty, as it was now spring and people had resulted to dispersing and travelling to different parts of the country. As they wandered down the trails, Ella turned to Sage, dropping a flower she had picked from a bush earlier that day. "I was meaning to ask earlier but I got distracted, had the castle or village ever had any sort of..threat of attack towards them? I've never really asked nor heard about it. I didn't know if you d know" she asked, her tone cheery though it was a slightly dark topic.

Sage turned to look over at her when she spoke up, and he shrugged. "Sure," he grunted. "Rival kingdoms are always trying something. That or the villagers hoping one of their rebellions actually works for once," he mused. "They're not super common....but they're not uncommon either," he added with a shrug. "I wouldn't worry about it too much...you're the queen," he pointed out. "Literally they have like fifteen guards who's only duty is to keep you safe," he added on, sort of squinting up at the sky to look at a flock of birds that were going past them. "There hasn't been one in a while," he commented after a few moments of silence, then looking back over at her and cocking his head slightly. "Why?"
