Hades smirked "A family man huh?" He chuckled seeming amused at Sages protectiveness over his family "Perhaps the rumors are true... Maybe you are turning human..." he smirked "Or you're still more human then you realize." He replied. Admittedly it was an interesting theory... why was he the only demon who could reproduce with a human? Hades offered a smirk "I know very well you're having another kid... I can hear the heartbeat too you know... but I also know Roxie has protected the infant with a spell..." he retorted "Besides if I wanted to kill any one of you I could with a simple snap of my fingers." He reminded him "You watch your tongue!" He hissed at him. Max came over to her husband putting a hand on his shoulder "Babe... were fine." She assured him gently "I promise were okay." She told him kissing his cheek.

Sage just glared at Hades while he talked. The more the guy talked, the more he resented him. Really, he was losing more and more respect for the man the more he talked. He stiffened, practically bristling when Hades threatened to kill any one of them, though when he said the Roxie had protected their second child he did feel a bit better. Hades could probably overrule that, if he wanted to, but he just as curious as Roxie was about all of this. He relaxed a bit and crossed his arms when Max came over, grumbling "you don't look fine" but stepping back a bit anyway. He still didn't like this....not at all...but he finally just huffed out a breath, turned on his heal, and socked Roxie across the face, knocking her over. "There," he muttered. "Fights over," he declared, turning and stalking away. Hades insults didn't really bother him....what did bother him was the man's attitude. The abuse of power. So far, Max was the only one in charge of him who hadn't been a completely awful boss. No....master was the right word.

Sage threw Hades a rather unamused glance and huffed out a breath, scooping Charlie up and taking Max's hand, marching right out of the building without even looking back at Hades. He was really just fed up with him threatening his family. He was also tired of everyone treating them like some kind of experiment....that's what he'd always been - the disposable experiment. Even to the old death, it was the same way. He's fought against his hold....and the man had tortured him but never quite killed him. He wanted him alive. This was the same thing. Even if Max was his initial master, that didn't mean Hades couldn't control him.

When they arrived back home Max used her powers to heal her wounds before she relaxed in bed her muscles were a little sore but overall she didn't look like she'd even been fighting, her powers were stronger now for sure. She looked at Sage when he came in offering a smile "Nice job knocking Roxie on her ass..." she chuckled "I know she's our frenemy now but she deserves a good knock to the head every once in a while." she smirked.

Sage cleaned himself up while Max healed herself. He had some cuts and bruises, but nothing that bothered him too much. He was sore...his shoulders and back were more tensed up than they had been in a long time. And, well, he'd been tensed up like that for a while. He chuckled lightly at Max's comment when he came into the room, and flopped down on the bed next to her. "There's a lot of people I would love to knock upside the head," he muttered. "But that was pretty satisfying," he chuckled, turning over onto his back with a slight groan and a sigh.

Maxine gave a chuckle "I know." she said gently rolling onto her stomach and kissing him "Good" she said happily "How about I give you a back massage?" she suggested with a smile "You've earned it."

Sage chuckled lightly and felt his normal goody smile cross his face in response to her kiss, though it was a bit tired. But that was alright....they were home, and all alive and happy. Though, he grunted and rolled over with a chuckle. "I won't say no to one of those, not ever," he noted with amusement, resting his chin on his forearms.

Max smiled at him "I never would either." she admitted with a laugh "especially with my healing powers." she giggled kissing the back of his neck when he rolled over just to give him the chills before she started massaging his back.

Sage did indeed get the chills, though he just chuckled at her comment and hummed in agreement. He wasn't very good at that... massaging wasnt really his strong suit. He could rub out a knot if she wanted him to, but he'd really just be afraid of hurting her. But this was nice...it really did feel wonderful. And, hey, if he got a kiss out of it too, he definitely wasn't complaining.
