"Miss popular has a distaste for them." She grumbled, rolling her eyes. "I quite like chilling out with you - I don't get to do that with any of them." The girl shrugged. It was strange how fast someone could go from speaking formally to being impropper depending soley on who they were talking to. "You don't like them either so I don't see an issue." She noted with a dim smile.

Sage snorted out a laugh. "True. Chilling out here is pretty great, I can't deny that." He made a face. "People aren't exactly my strong suit. I'm not what you'd call a 'people person'. I don't get along with most of them," he admitted. "My social skills are horrible," he chuckled.

The girl tilted her head with a snicker. "You keep on saying that you aren't very good with people," she shrugged, "but I don't see it. You were a little narky when I first spoke to you but I just assumed you where tired. You seem fine now." The girl murmured as she thought back. "I'll take your word for it though."

Sage glanced over at the girl and grinned. "Yeah, well, that's because I enjoy being with you. When I don't like someone it comes out more," he pointed out. He looked back up at the sky and shrugged. " I'm always a bit tired or whatever but some days are worse than other so I guess that may have something to do with it," he muttered thoughtfully. Edited at July 28, 2022 11:38 AM by NightClan

"Yeah, yeah, whatever you say." She murmured quietly. "I don't get why though. I feel like I'm one of the least likely people you'd even try and get along with." She chuckled softly, "And sorry for taking your nights away. Seriously, if you need a break just say and I'm more than happy to leave you be." The girl muttered as she started to sit back up again.

Sage chuckled and shook his head. "Believe me, this is a break." He thought for a second. "Maybe it's because even though we have way different lives, I think we're more similar than we realize." He shrugged. "I don't know. I just can't dislike you." He grinned. "Miss popular," he teased.

The girl gave a faint smirk as she shook her head. "Alright then, I suppose I'll take that, Tavern boy." She grumbled lightly, "though, I don't think we're at all alike." She added sarcastically. She thought through their interactions. The more she thought, the brighter her smile seemed to be. It was far from normal etiquette for them to be so lax around eachother, and although the boy maybe had a more brutish appearance, Anya found herself at ease when he was about. Maybe it was because he was so different from the company she normally kept. "Like you say, I'm just Miss popular. Everyone likes me." She teased brightly. Edited at August 9, 2022 05:00 PM by Belle

Sage snorted and waved off her comment. "Oh, please. Don't define yourself by that," he muttered. "You're not just some high up snob, you're brave and kind." He sat up and shrugged. "I don't see anyone else if your rank wanting to know about other people or facing their fears like you did in the lake."

"You said it first." The girl noted with a soft chuckle. "And that makes me brave?" She muttered quietly. "If anything, I'd say you're quite bold yourself - And not just cause you seem to enjoy getting into brawls. But because you have no idea who I am. Yet, you seem happy enough to sit around with me and you seriously haven't a clue just how much trouble you could get into." She shrugged wearily. "You are really risking so much more than you realize and you don't seem even a little fazed." Anya furrowed her brows as she looked down.

Sage raised an eyebrow at her. "I know what I get myself into. I just don't care. I've faced death too often to be afraid of it anymore. You, on the other hand, have not and yet you still trusted me not to let you drown "
