She stayed back and examined Sage while he fought the zombies, keeping a close eye for any sudden movement that he might need help. The last zombie though, she sensed it's power and with it's fast speed she couldn't even react fast enough but Sage did. He actually put himself in front of her to protect her from the zombie, risking his own life even though he could have died. After the fight was over, Cassidy couldn't help but run to Sage and tackle him down. She was whining uncontrollably and licking his face. It was clear the girl was worried for him and she was overjoyed to see that he was safe and no bites which meant he wouldn't turn into a zombie. After coating his face in her slobber, she nuzzled her face against his neck. Her soft fur rubbing against his skin. |

Sage let out a tiny squeak of surprise when Cass tackled him, though he didn't mind she did it. He couldn't help but blush a little bit...she was licking his face, which if she was a dog would have been considered a kiss. He had to get control of his brain...it kept coming back to that. In the end though, he knew she was just worried, and she was in her wolf form, so he chalked it up to just being a worried and relieved puppy act. When she buried her face in his neck, he smiled with a laugh. "Cass, your fur tickles," he giggled, squirming around underneath her a bit, though he did enjoy her being there. He wrapped his arms around her, too, weaving his fingers in-between her long, soft fur. She smelled nice...like the forest. And he wasn't sure why he noticed that little detail...he'd been close to her for a long time now...but it was nice all the same. |

-Sorry- she whined and she stopped rubbing her head against his neck and she lifted her head to look at him. -You risked your life to save mine- she shifted into her human form and he would be able to see now that there were actually tears in her eyes. "I thought-" she shook her head and she scooped her hands underneath him to hug him "I'm just glad you are alive" she said softly. Cassidy removed her arms from him that way she could stand up and she rubbed her face with her hands to wipe away her tears. The thought that she almost lost Sage was too much for her. She loved the boy and she couldn't deny that. |

Sage blinked slowly and then grinned. "Don't you worry about me, I've been doing that my entire life," he said gently. He stood up and wiped a tear away, and then after a moments heasitation kissed her on the cheek lightly and then walked away quickly before she could respond, his face heating up but a smile spreading across his face. |

The kiss on her cheek made her freeze in her spot and she stared unblinking at Sage who pratically ran off after he just kissed her cheek. Her heart was racing and her cheeks were burning a bright red with butterflies fluttering in her stomach. "Sage!" she called after him and followed him, grabbing his hand in her own and pulling him to stop. "Y-You can't just run away after that" she hated herself for stammering but it was hard to talk when her body was in over drive with emotions. It was clear that Cassidy did love him after being with Sage for two months and the kiss on the cheek only proved it further. |

Sage stopped and turned around to look at the girl, cocking his head slightly. She was bright red, and holding his hand. And stammering. Was that good or bad? He wasn't sure, and loving someone felt all too new for him....he didn't know what to think or feel, really. He loved her, he'd figured that much out, but that didn't mean he expected her to love him back...not even his family had done that. Well, except for his sister a bit, but they relied on each other, so that didn't count. And she had died, he couldn't protect her, so really what made him think he could protect Cass? She was a werewolf...he was just a human....asking her to love him just didn't seem possible. But he stood there silently, still blushing, as he waited for her to speak again, or do something. He wasn't sure what all he was expecting...a let down maybe, subconsciously he was expecting a slap. |

When he didn't speak it made her nervous. She too waited for his response but none came so instead she worked up the courage and placed both hands on his cheeks and she pulled his face close to kiss him. Cassidy's eyes closed and the butterflies in her stomach only intensified. Yep, she loved him. There was no denying it now. Cassidy pulled back and her hande slowly fell from his cheeks "I-I'm sorry" she whispered, worried she might have crossed a line with him. Now she was nervous, no she was actually scared to know what he might do next after she had just kissed him. |

Sage let out a tiny squeak when she pulled him closer and kissed him. Well, he definitely hadn't expected that. But it was nice, he couldn't deny that. He didn't expect her to apologize either, and that broke him out of the state he was oogling her with. He cocked his head slightly. "You don't have to apologize." His lips were tingling...he'd made a move first, she just had the guts to do what he didn't. |

The blush only worsened if that was even possible at this point and she rubbed her arm with her eyes looking away from him. Normally Cassidy wouldn't have to courage to do something like she just did and maybe it was the apocalypse that gave her a bit more confidence after surviving for five months now. If she could kill a zombie then she could do anything she puts her mind to. "I feel like I do. I mean, I know you wanted to kiss me but I didn't know if you wanted to make that move first" she glanced at him shyly out of the corner of her eye, her blush starting to go down some. |

Sage chuckled slightly and shook his head. "I really don't care who does what first." He really didn't...if she hadn't done that who knows how long it would have taken him to work up the courage to kiss her. He'd think about it, end up in a flustered mess, and do something dumb, like kissing her cheek instead, for instance. He was pretty bold, until it came to this. Then he was scared to death to screw something up. |
