Maxine returned about an hour later with a full stomach and some food for her husband, they hadn't hunted in a bit so she was quite happy she was full enough to bring extras back home... for both her husband and Charlie though she didn't eat much as far as souls she wondered if this could be a good pick me up for Sage as well. When she came in she smiled licking her lips "Mmm... that was good... thank you for letting me go hunt..." She said gently "Feeling better?" She asked.

Sage did feel a bit better after consuming some souls, though he quite honestly still felt sick. He nodded happily though. 'i would kiss you your welcome but I think I'm getting sick," he half chuckled. He sat back in the kitchen chair with a slight huff of air, sort of just letting his limbs and head hang off the edges and back, and closed his eyes. Now that Max was home to watch Charlie, he was comfortable to do that. "I don't have time to be sick," he grumbled after a moment. He hated being sick, with a passion...he didn't like being slow and weak, unable to defend himself. He'd gotten better about letting Max be the strong one and help him out, but he still wished he could help her rather than place all the burdens on her shoulders while he lay in bed or on the couch.

Maxine nodded and kissed the top of his instead "Go lay down then." She ordered "Hun you can be sick for a bit..." She assured him "I'm pregnant not an invalid..." She retorted "Now go lay down and rest... if you feel feverish tell me." She said simply giving a nod.

Sage opened his eyes and made a slight face, though got up with a sigh and wandered over to the bed, flopping over and curling up. He fell asleep again soon enough, though when he woke up cold and sweaty, he assumed he had a heck of a fever. He was built for heat, so when he got a fever, he got one really high. In general, demons didn't often get sick, but when they did, it was awful. He barely had any energy to curl up under covers though before falling back asleep.

Maxine frowned at him and pointed toward the bedroom to emphesize her point when he gave her a look. When he headed off she gave a nod of approval "I'll check on you in a bit." she assured him before she took Charlie in after him to wash her up and change her. When she did check on him next she knew immediately that he had a pretty high fever... she was quick to start filling the tub with some cool water while she went and got a cool washcloth to put over his head giving a gentle sigh.

Sage didn't even move when Max came in and put the cloth on his forehead, which was sort of a dead giveaway as to how bad he felt....he was normally a pretty light sleeper, even when sick, so to not move at all, he must have really been just dead tired. He did end up settling down after a moment a bit once the cloth brought his temperature down slightly. It did feel good, and his fever dreams changed to slightly less of a 'everyone is burning to death in a horrible manner' type of dream. Though, they still weren't pleasant.

Maxine felt his cheeks as the rag started getting to room temp rather quickly giving a small sigh "Sorry hun..." she told him before she tossed the rag aside on their bed and picked him up taking him to the bathtub and settling him in the cool water even with all his clothes on... she needed to cool him down quickly this was the only way she could do it so she put him into the water and turned on the cold water full force in hopes to bring his temp down quickly... if it didn't happen she planned on putting ice in the water. She went to get the rag and returned running it under the cold water before she put it on his head again hoping that would bring his temp back down... he could warm up again afterward.

Sage barely moved when he felt his wife pick him up, mostly out of surprise, and let out a slight whine of complaint when he felt the cold water on his skin. He blinked his eyes open groggily when she placed the cloth on his head, obviously rather confused. "Wha...," He murmured, not having enough energy to do any more that, and leaned against her with his eyes already closing again. He did feel better, though.

"Sorry babe... your fever was getting too high..." she explained gently "You're fine you're just in some cold water... ther rag was heating up too fast..." she told him "Just trying to bring your temp back down." she assured him.

Sage grunted and settled down, closing his eyes again, since keeping them open now seemed like too much work. "Alright," he whispered quietly. She didn't have to sit with him though....Charlie still needed some supervision and she had things to do. He didn't want to halt all activities that needed to happen.
