Max put a hand on his "What do I need to do?" She asked looking at Roxie "I don't know... I don't think there's anything even I can do at this point..." She admitted "The best thing to do at this point is let him die and regenerate..." She said "Might take a while with how bad his fever is..." She admitted. Max gave a small nod "If you think it's best..." She said gently.

Sage calmed down a bit when he heard Max's voice and felt her hand on his. He sort of weakly entwined his fingers with hers as best he could before slipping off into unconsciousness again. He could hear them talking....he could recognize Roxies voice...but he wasn't sure what Roxie could do. At this point, he just wanted Max to be there with him.

"I do..." Roxie admitted looking Sage over as she mixed a potion for him "It'll be just like he's going to sleep... he'll wake up again and feel better... though I couldn't speak to how long he'll be out..." She admitted "Just do it... if it makes him feel better just do it..." She said looking to Sage "Just give me a minute..." She said gently Roxie nodding and heading off into the other room. "Sage... can you hear me?" She asked him. When she got some kind of response from him she offered a smile "You're gonna go to sleep for a while..." She told him "When you wake up again you'll feel better." She assured him her voice breaking as she took his hand and put it on her abdomen "We'll all be eagerly waiting for you to come home." She told him "So come home as soon as you can." She said gently before she had Roxie come in. By now she had his head cradled in her lap and was stroking her fingers through his hair gently "I love you Sage." She said gently. Roxie looked at her before she took a dropper out of the bottle and opened Sage's mouth "Goodnight Sage." She said explaining to Max that it would slow down his heart rather quickly as he slept... it was painless "He'll come back." She assured him happily. (I had a thought... what if it's not entirely Sage that comes back like it's him physically but maybe like another demon or even old death or Hades comes back and takes Sage's place for a bit? Maybe he got stuck ya know?)

Max smiled at him "Shhh... you'll be fine... go to sleep now." Max assured him kissing his forehead. No matter how much she knew he'd come back it was hard seeing him die... Eventuly Roxie told her to go home and took her back to the house... it was a rather strange conversations he had to have with her dad but she was glad he was there... he could be there for her in place of Sage in a way... she didn't know how long Sage would be gone... she was just glad she wasn't completely alone this time... especially having Charlie with her this time.

Sage found himself back in the workshop in hell, conscious as always as he watched the workshop demons fix his body. It was always a strange thing to watch, but also, admittedly, pretty fascinating. He watched them prepare it too, for life again, for about a million years. It wasn't that long, of course, but being nothing but a consciousness was rather boring. Oh well, at least he didn't feel all the operations. Though, when the time came for his consciousness to be out back, there was something blocking the way....he heard a cold chuckle as the body....his body.. dissapeared. Cold dread filled him, and he just hoped Max could realize what had happened. Death was back, and he was using him as a vessel. And he couldn't do a single thing about it all.

He woke up in the woods behind his house. He rose and wandered around for a while, gathering information. So four months had passed. Good, that was enough time for things to have settled down. Hopefully the girl...Max..would have forgotten the slightest details and his work would be easier. Ah well. He'd have to be careful anyway. He slid into the house carefully, before clearing his throat and calling, "Max? You home?" To his...wife, he supposed. She would have to be his wife now, if he was using this body. Well, he could get quite used to that.

Maxine was in the new bedroom she'd started making into a nursery painting when she heard Sage's voice... she blushed and glanced down at her fairly obvious bump underneath her paint covered overalls setting her paint stuff aside and jogging out to greet her husband "Sage!" she yelped happily tears in her eyes as she hugged her husband nuzzling into his shoulder "Oh I missed you so much!" she squeaked pulling away a little an wiping her eyes, her emotions were in overdrive she couldn't help but cry extremely happy to see her husband and hold him again.

Sage wrapped his arms around the girl, hoping to seem eager as the girl's real husband would be to be back at home and with his family....he had certainly seemed like a 'family man' of sorts. "I missed you too," he chirped, trying to sound as sincere as possible. He found himself looking at her stomach, which was definitely round with a baby. Sage had been hard at work, he thought with amusement. "Looks like I've been gone a while," he mused, pretending to not know the date, since that was rather common of this sort of thing. He reached over to wipe her tears away too, figuring that's what the real guy would've done...comforting his wife and all. "It's alright, I'm back now," he told her as gently as possible.

She gave a small giggle "It's been four months." she told him gently kissing his cheek pulling away a little more so he could get a better view of her after he wiped her tears "I'm so glad you're back..." she said gently as Charlie came tottering out to greet her father "Dadaaaaaaaa!" she squeaked in her own little pair of overalls reaching her arms up waiting for her father to pick her up "Oh yeah... Charlie has officially graduated to a big girl bed already..." she chuckled softly.

Sage hummed lightly and opened his mouth to respond, though when the little girl came through, he made it look so he was distracted to scoop her up with a grin. "Hows my baby girl," he asked her, pressing a kiss to her cheek, hoping it all looked real. Obviously, the girl was emotional, so hopefully she wasn't aware of tiny details. "Oh, really," he hummed. "Thats great!"
