Quinn sighed lowly, taking a single strand of hair and plucking it out, letting it flutter into the fire. She knew they couldn't move, and this was probably the safest place they had for a while. Her stomach didn't feel good, and Frynn and Caspian were both so young. They were in a more dangerous time at the moment, especially with Sage's leg. As he spoke again, she let a frown cross her face, her emerald eyes flitting to him. "I wish it wasn't this way." She muttered. "You're practically the exact same as us. You think the same, act the same, look the same. Couldn't you just stick around and not do anything? They'd never know." She mumbled quietly, the muscles in her arms tightening as she clenched her hands and released them. Someday, things would get better. They had to.

Sage sort of sighed and shook his head. "Believe me, I hate hiding and leaving you alone just as much as you do," he murmured. "But they'd know," he pointed out. "My eyes are a dead giveaway....and my teeth." His fingernails were too, probably, and he wasn't sure he could keep from his ears moving as they moved around the property, or his nose from twitching, or from snarling or growling or.....he wouldn't be able to pass for a human. He hated it, but it was true.

Quinn closed her eyes again. He was right. She let out a low huff of anger. "People are stupid." She muttered, relishing in the feeling of his warm shoulder against her head. She didn't ever want to be without him again. Not since what happened. That had been hell. Worse than it, even. "I love you just the way you are." She murmured, tilting her head up to press a kiss to his jaw. "That's something nobody can take." She thought about Caspian and Frynn, sleeping inside, and the quickly setting sun. "We should get to sleep." She murmured. She had just been asleep a couple hours ago, but already her wound was making her drowsy again.

Sage hummed softly in agreement to her comment, smiling over at her. "We'll get through it," he murmured, knowing he'd do anything to keep them safe. If it meant leaving the area while humans came around, then so he it. It wasn't ideal, and he'd drive himself nuts worrying about them, but if he had a spot to go....maybe the old bear cave or the farm that was now deserted ... And she could get him once they were for sure safe again....he'd feel a bit better about it all. At her comment about sleep, he realized how tired he was too, and nodded with a sort of sigh. "I'll put the fire out and be in," he mused, pecking her lips lightly before she moved inside and he made sure the fire was out before joining her in the cabin, locking the door, and changing into something to sleep in.

Quinn shook her head at his words. "I sure hope we will." She mumbled back, not liking the idea of him just leaving, but... it was most likely inevitable. And it'd only be long enough for her to shoo people away. And only when people came around. "Okay." She replied when he spoke, standing up with a wince of pain and walking inside. She checked on Frynn and Caspian, who were both still asleep, and changed into more comfortable clothing before crawling into bed, feeling freezing for the couple minutes that Sage wasn't in. And in pain.. her stomach had decided to take this opportunity to start throbbing, and it didn't feel good.

Sage nodded along in response to her comment, but then gave her a smile and let her head inside. Once the fire was out, and he'd washed his face and changed into pajamas, he moved to slide into bed next to her, wrapping an arm loosely around her side and nestling in happily. He was certainly glad to be back home with her and the babies....and he was glad things hadn't been any worse. Because they could have been. They could have beem much, much worse, and while things had gone bad, they were all still here, and they could function. They'd have food and water, and time to make a plan in case anythign happened. So he felt better knowing that. He drifted off pretty quickly, as he normally did now....he was still hurting, and with two babies and Quinn being hurt, he'd been doing a bit more. Worrying more too, so his mind was tired. But that was ok....he was just glad they were all together again.
