Zephyr grabbed some food before going to sit down, his eyes glancing up when Sophia walked up and spoke. "Ready? Very funny." He joked with a slightly strained smile. "I'm just hoping everyone will get along for this game.." He blew out a slow breath, his appetite shot. Two more classes, then he had to get his freshly washed and ironed jersey on and go against a team he knew wasn't bad. A team he knew practiced just as hard as they did. Zeph ran a hand through his hair, trying not to rip it out.

Sophia eyes Zephyr. He looked nervous. She looked down "ready for tomorrow..?" She ventured with a slight glance at the boy infront of her

Zephyr's gaze glazed over slightly as he stared at empty space, worrying about where he was going to go and what he was going to say to the team, and how he was going to hide the fact he was nervous. He was the team captain- he couldn't be nervous. Sophia's question snapped him out of his trance. "More ready than for this evening. How about you? Ready for tomorrow, but also Monday?" He asked, picking at his food a little.

"I'm ready for tomorrow. Also... what's the plan? Are you picking me up or meeting here or... what?" She stopped for a second. "I think we can take them, I'm just a scared that the girls are going to freak out again this year. Last year, three new girls started talking about how we were going to lose. Now we're going against the same team and they are freaking out again" Sophia shook her head. "We'll survive"

(Pfft, where is the prom? Where do they usually have em? I barely knew what that was before the age of 15 xD sooo) - Zephyr blinked once or twice and forced his brain to focus. "I don't care, whatever is easier for you." He answered, listening to what she was saying. "Oof. At least I'm not really worried about the actual game- I'm worried if Robert will cooperate or not. Will he be rude and a bully at the expense of the win or will he find the maturity he should've had when he was 12 and figure it out?" He snorted slightly. "In any case... good luck for your game as well." He commented before standing. "I'd better go." Zeph said before walking out. He got to the science class early. By the way the teacher was glaring at him he guessed the teach was thinking about murdering him. Zephyr made it through that class and the next without dying. He then went and got changed, sucking in a deep breath and gathering with his team. "We can do this. We are strong and good players. Don't doubt yourselves. Let's get out there." Zephyr's pep talks were always short and blunt, but it worked. The team seemed energized as they went out on the court.

Lol. Usually schools will rent a place like a ballroom. But usually not that grand) - Sophia smiled "ok. Bye" she made it through her English class with a little more knowledge of the English language than before. After her next class, she made her way to the basketball court with a mob of other people. When the players ran out onto the court, the crowd cheered. Sophia found herself caught up in the roar.

(Okay then lol) - Zephyr turned his dark blue gaze to the cheering crowd. It honestly astonished him every time that people were so excited to watch a high-school basketball game. Even in the crowd he found Sophia's face, offering her a small smile before turning to look at the other team. They seemed very evenly matched. Zephyr took up position, and the game started. It was a rough first game. They were pretty much tied all the way through the first half, and most of the way through the second. There was on play left and their team had one more point than the opposing team. Almost everyone had scored at least one basket. Zephyr got passed the ball. He was too far away. Too many people blocking him. He made a quick decision and dodged to the side, stopped, and from way too far back, almost all the way across the court, made a desperate shot. The ball soared through the air. The moment seemed to hang in time. Then he heard the swish of a net, his teammates tried to murder him with slaps, and screams echoed all around. They had won. Zephyr, relieved, pushed everyone off of him and jogged out of the court. He wasn't allowed to change out of his jersey yet, as the coach always took a picture after the first game.

Sophia smiled when Zephyrs eyes met hers. She found herself caught up in the crowd, mimicking their every move. As Zephyr threw the ball, she held her breath. Time was running out. The hall hit the net and Sophia jumped up and down, cheering along with the rest of the gym. She stayed back while people filed down the stairs. She decided that she needed to practice wether she actually needed to or not. She quickly ran to her car and going to the field. She tossed the ball in the air and caught it, doing some other warmup type stunts. She sat down on the sand and stared at the fading pink and purple streaks. The sun was no longer visible, but she could still feel it's presence because of the light radiating off of the clouds. She took a deep breath.

Zephyr walked out to the main place with his teammates, grinning as they got congratulated. A lot of people gave him congrats too, but he didn't care as much about that. The coach had them line up to take the yearly picture, and as usual Zeph stood in the back a full head taller than anyone else as he smiled his usual slightly lopsided sly smile, his black hair almost falling across his deep blue eyes. Afterwards he changed out of his jersey. The one thing not good about this was that that shot would make him all the more popular in school. He said bye to Pete before walking out, his eyes twinkling, pleased with how the evening ended. He was heading towards his truck when he noticed a lone figure on the softball field. If he had to guess, it was Sophia, so he wandered over there first. "Hi- practicing for Monday?" He asked, his face much brighter than usual.

Sophia could hear something behind her but she didn't move. When the something spoke, she turned around. "Yeah. Kind of hard by myself but I'm working it. That shot was amazing by the way. " she smiled at him though she didn't feel as happy as she should. She was nervous for tomorrow and the Monday they got back. She pulled her arms together and her knees to her chest, keeping herself warm
