(ooo that would definitely work! It'll be amusing since she's taller than him too lol) Sage had sort of grunted in response to Jora's comment about being able to stay in bed, shaking his head slightly. "Don't tell me that," he groaned with a slight laugh, letting his hands drop and peering over at her happily. "If I don't get up now I never will," he added, voice definitely still a bit tired but laced with amusement all the same. He lay around for a few more minutes before getting up with a grunt and rolling out of bed, taking a brush through his hair quickly and then pulling it back in his normal messy bun before moving to rummage through the bag with all his art stuff in it. "What vibe do we want to go with," he noted after a moment. "Still sort of naturey and ship like," he asked, and when she agreed he grunted, moving to pull a bunch of different things out of the bags. He had boxes full of art supplies, and he'd brought it all with, so he definitely had more than she thought he had....but that was ok. He wasn't sure she'd seen any of his art either now that he thought about it....but he didn't care about that too much. He drug out all the decorations he'd brought with them too, humming as he sort of mentally planned out where he wanted what. It was vaguely amusing, since now the whole floor was covereind in stuff, but he was excited about all of it. So it was fine.

Jora leaned against the doorframe, arms crossed, watching Sage with a raised eyebrow as he finally dragged himself out of bed. His groan made her smirk—she could tell he was still tired, but at least he wasn’t giving her too much trouble about it. "You say that now, but we both know you'll be back in bed in an hour," she teased, giving him a little nudge with her words. She could feel the energy starting to shift though, the quiet hum of excitement that always seemed to follow him when he started diving into a project. She glanced at the mess quickly piling up on the floor as he pulled out art supplies and decorations. There was something chaotic but kind of endearing about the way he dove in. Boxes and bags were scattered around, things half-unpacked and strewn about as he planned. It was clear Sage didn’t mind the clutter as much as she did. When he asked about the "vibe," Jora nodded, glad they were on the same page. "Nature and ship, yeah," she confirmed, her voice steady but with an undercurrent of amusement. "I like the idea of something that feels alive, not too stiff." It wasn’t that she minded structure, but there was something about the mess, about letting things flow that suited them. And, she realized, she was more than a little curious about the art side of Sage. He had never really shared much of that with her, had he? Watching him pull out even more decorations, Jora snorted, glancing down at the floor. “You sure we need all this stuff?” she asked, but there wasn’t a real critique in her tone, just a fond note. She could see the wheels turning in his head as he hummed and arranged, and honestly, it was kind of fun to watch. "Well, whatever you decide, I'm not helping with the cleanup." She gave him a wink, leaning back casually against the doorframe, waiting to see what he came up with.

Sage had nodded when she mentioned it feeling alive, knowing his the lip ring as he thought, brows furrowing in concentration as he thought, mapping the house out in his head. Her question about needing everything pulled a snort from him, though a mostly amused one. "No," he noted. "But I don't know where I wanna put what yet," he half grumbled, muttering to himself as he continues to root around in the piles of things before huffing out a breath. "We need plants," he grumbled, grabbing a knife he could use as a shovel and moving to stomp outside, determined to find the perfect plants for decorations. He knew what he wanted, now he just needed to find them. "And we're gonna have to fix this garden bed too. It's ugly as hell," he called back to her before sliding into the woods. He found what he was looking for soon enough, and wandered back an hour or so later, arms full of plants. He moved to the living room area, dumping them all in the floor and then gathering a few tools and broken pots he'd found, smoothing the edges out and attaching them to the wall. He filled them with dirt after that, before hanging the plants in them, filling the pots with dirt. It would keep them on the wall, and alive with little effort. They'd look like they were vining, growing in the wood, without actually, you know....rotting the wood out of anything. Then he moved to shove a little tree in the corner. It had cool flowers on it, and fit perfectly in the corner, so he'd grabbed it. Then he scurried over to where he had all his art supplies and worked at getting a pallette he thought would look nice, climbing on the counter to start painting the wall. "If you want to help, you could stick those on the pots on the door frame," he noted, pointing to some large hanging ferns. "And those where you might want them outside," he added happily, pointing to some various flowering plants and grasses and such.

Jora grinned as Sage pointed out the ferns and other plants for her to arrange. "On it," she said with enthusiasm, clearly excited to help add her touch to the space. She spotted a small ladder leaning against the wall, just within reach, and grabbed it. Carefully, she set it up beneath the door frame, eyeing the spot where the pots needed to go. Climbing the ladder with an unspoken confidence, she carefully positioned the ferns in their hanging pots, balancing them on the edge as she moved them into place. The plants were heavier than she expected, and her balance wavered slightly. She gripped the pot tighter, trying to steady herself. Then, without warning, the ladder shifted under her weight. Her heart skipped a beat as the ladder wobbled precariously, and before she could catch herself, she lost her footing and tumbled backward.

Sage had moved to paint the wall, adding in some other plant life and making it seem like it was almost just a wall of ivy, growing in and around the wood. You could barely tell the difference between the painted ones and the real ones, though of course when you looked at it all a certain way you could see the pots since that was all 3D. Whatever. He was pretty satisfied how things were going. He only got through a small part of the wall, of course, as painting that way took a while ...but he needed a bigger brush, so he wandered back out to rummage through the piles of brushes he had, looking for a specific one. Of course, his sensitive ears picked up the small gasp Jora made as she got unsteadied on the latter, and when he noticed she was slipping he made a mad scramble outside. He managed to catch her torso with a grunt, so she didn't hit the ground very hard, but she was taller than him so when he staggered back a step under her weight, her own legs tangled around his and they both wound up on the ground. Well, at least she was alright. He couldn't help but laugh after a moment, patting her back since she was now sprawled on top of him. "God, Jora, I want the pots broken, not you," he laughed, blowing a strand of hair that had come loose out of his face. "You alright," he asked then, the concern obviously seeping into his tone.

Jora’s breath hitched when she felt herself slipping, the ladder wobbling beneath her as she reached for balance. Before she could even comprehend the fall, Sage was there, somehow managing to catch her. His grip on her torso was solid, but the sudden shift of weight made her legs falter. Next thing she knew, they were both tangled on the floor, with her sprawled on top of him. She blinked, disoriented for a moment, then realized just how ridiculous they must look. The laughter in Sage’s voice caught her off guard, and she felt her cheeks flush. "Yeah, well, you sure got me good," she muttered, shifting slightly to prop herself up. But then, she heard the concern in his voice, and the small chuckle died on her lips. “I’m fine,” she assured him quickly, glancing up to see his messy hair and that playful grin. Despite the awkward tumble, it wasn’t the worst thing that could’ve happened. "Could’ve been worse,” she added with a smirk, pushing herself off him and offering a hand to help him up. “I didn’t break anything… I don’t think.”

Sage chuckled softly, a blush of his own appearing across the bridge of his nose and cheeks. He couldn't help but chuckle though, a light hum of amusement rising from his lips. "I came in for a paintbrush, and now I get a whole woman on top of me," he teased lightly, accepting her hand up once she rolled off of him, letting her haul him to his feet. "I think if you broke something you'd know," he noted. "And I definitely would've heard it," he added with a light snort, moving to tug the hair tie out of his hair since rolling around on the ground had knocked like half of it out anyway. He moved to untangle the knot it was in, before moving to reach back and redo the bun, still peering over at her. "You know, I haven't seen you blush like that before," he couldn't help but tease her after a moment, a mischievous smirk growing on his face. "It's cute," he commented after a moment, deciding it might get more of a reaction from her. Which he honestly sort of wanted to see since she got him all flustered so easily.

(ahhh! they are too cute! I can't)
Jora's lips curled into a small, knowing smile as Sage teased her, his voice light and playful. She shot him a look, raising an eyebrow at his comment about a "whole woman" on top of him. Her heart beat a little faster, but she was quick to hide the slight flush creeping up her neck. "Oh, really? Is that all it takes?" she teased back, crossing her arms, though she couldn't hide the amused glint in her eyes. He was right—she would know if she broke something, and it wasn't like she could hide any injuries from him. As he worked on fixing his hair, Jora’s eyes couldn’t help but linger on him for a moment longer than she intended, especially when he caught her off guard with his comment about her blush. Her hand instinctively went to her face, and she let out an almost inaudible groan. "You think that's cute?" She was trying to stay composed, but his teasing was too much. "I swear, Sage, if you keep doing that, I might have to start charging for these reactions," she quipped, a grin tugging at the corner of her mouth. It was a weird, new feeling—Sage getting to her this way. And he knew it too. "You’re lucky you’re cute when you're smug," she added, shaking her head as if to deny the fact she was as flustered as she was.

(sage is testing the waters but bros clueless loll....love it) Sage felt his grin widen when her blush deepened, nodding along in response to her previous comments. "Yup," he chirped lightly before shrugging and dropping his hands from his hair, cocking his head slightly as he peered at her. "The big, strong Jora, blushing like a school girl," he hummed with a quick shake of his head. "Who knew," he added, really just enjoying getting the girl flustered. He supposed he understood why she liked doing it to him so much too. He let out a snort when she mentioned charging for the reactions, and he arched and eyebrow. "With what," he snorted. "I'm building you a house," he noted with a chuckle. Though, when she called him cute, pretty much all his brain function just ....stopped. Melted. Well, that had taken a turn for the....he didn't want to call it the worst. Because yes, he was bright red now, but no, he didn't dislike what was happening. "Shut up," he sort of huffed after a moment, moving to whack her arm lightly in a way that definitely had no malice behind it at all. "You can't tease me about getting flustered when you're blushing too," he added, giving her a sort of mock pout.

Jora felt her heart stutter in her chest as Sage’s grin stretched wider, the teasing look in his eyes only making her face heat up further. He always seemed to know how to get under her skin, didn’t he? The worst part was, she knew it was only a matter of time before she’d end up flustered. And now here he was, enjoying it. She rolled her eyes, but it didn’t stop her from feeling the warmth creep up her neck. "Ha, ha, very funny," she muttered, crossing her arms over her chest, though the smile she couldn’t quite hide gave her away. His words weren’t helping; in fact, they made it worse. The big, strong Jora, blushing like a school girl—she really couldn’t get that out of her head now. It almost felt like she was losing the battle, and he knew it. When he snorted about charging for reactions, she felt a surge of annoyance, but it quickly turned into a reluctant chuckle. "Building me a house?" She couldn’t even respond properly at first, too busy trying to collect her thoughts. "I don’t think that’s the same thing as a 'payment,' Sage," she teased back, but it was hard to stay annoyed when he was so... genuine.
