its now or never for me lol) Caden stood in the threshold of his study, the door ajar as he was about to leave. His black hair fell slightly over his eyes, and his green short-sleeve shirt clung to him, the fabric catching the soft, filtered sunlight streaming through the windows. The study, an old modern mix of worn furniture and well-organized shelves, seemed almost too still. Caden’s legs wavered beneath him, and before he could take another step, his body crumpled to the floor. His face, pale and weak, was a silent testament to his sudden collapse as the light from the windows cast long, soft shadows across his prone form.

(Bro!) Rose heard Caden and got up, worried. "Caden?" She called down the stairs. She quickly darted downstairs, spotting him. "Caden!" She exclaimed, calling an ambulance. "911, what's your emergency." The responder asked. "My boyfriend just collapsed and I don't know what to do." She answered, panicked. "Alright ma'am, can you tell me the address?" The responder asked. Rose told her. "Thank you, we're sending an ambulance now. Please don't hang up." Rose nodded, although tears were streaming down her face. "Please, Caden. Please." She pleaded as the responders came through the door. They placed Caden on a bed and took him out to the ambulance. One of the reponders helped Rose into the back of the ambulance, tears still streaming down her face.

Caden's breath came in shallow bursts, his ashy brown hair damp against the cool surface beneath him. The faint hum of the ambulance's sirens buzzed in his ears, muffled and distant. His ice-blue eyes twitched under closed lids, restless, as though fighting to surface from the blackness. His fingers twitched slightly, the sensation of the cold metal on his skin grounding him in the world he couldn't fully reach. His heart raced, but his body remained limp, lost in the shadows of unconsciousness. The jolting of the ambulance seemed to pull Caden deeper into his haze. His chest rose and fell in uneven breaths, each exhale a soft tremor. His ashy brown hair shifted slightly with every bump, a stray lock brushing his forehead. His eyelids fluttered again, a faint wince crossing his face as though he could feel the sharp pull of the world outside, but it was too far away. A dull throb pulsed in his temples, the pain a constant rhythm in his darkened mind. Edited at December 27, 2024 04:57 PM by RFS Thoroughbreds

(tbh, kinda feel bad for Rose lol) Rose watched Caden, terror like never before in her eyes. She'd never been this scared. Not when the gang had taken him the first time or when they were both prisoner. She felt the tears continue down her face and she reached out to take Caden's hand. As they pulled into the hospital, the medics reacted in a blur. He went to critical care, Rose following anxiously behind the bustling group of scrubs and masks. Her tears didn't stop as she watched Caden, her love and life, be carried away on the bed.

The bustling group of 4 or 5 doctors and nurses didn't stop touching or moving Caden until nearly an hour later when they had him hooked up to a million things all at once. As they left the room, Rose took Caden's hand again, terrified for him. "Please, Caden." She pleaded quietly, leg bouncing and mind spinning

A doctor walked in. "Well,we ran some test and,he has a very strong poison in his blood.Symptoms include, vomiting blood,a liter a day, seizures which are very violent, unconsciousness for roughly 8-12 hours." The doctor quieted her voice. "And on some occasions, ver rarely, death.Actually now that its day two with it in his blood,a 72.45% chance,of death." She trailed off. "I'm not meaning to scare you with this but,if you need anything, just press the call button.I'm Dr.Vogel,by the way." She says, walking out the door.Dr.Vogel clutched a clipboard and walked, turning into the test room.
