Malakai Negri - Kai swept a strand of her hair behind her ear, then cupping her face. "You will eventually, my darling. It happens to everyone. There will come a point in your life where you feel like you need a child, because you want one. We'll have kids together, I promise. But we're young, you're only 19 and I'm 22. We don't need to jump into this so fast. We have time, we're young, lets enjoy life together before adding a baby. I don't want all the pressure of making an heir tear us apart," he reassured her. "Yes, our firstborn will be the heir, but I want us to see our baby as our children first, and heirs second. Thats the most important thing. We should see our kids should be seen as our kids, who also happen to be heirs, not heirs who happen to be our children,"

Camery Valatieri - Cam looked up at him as his hand fell to her face, and she couldn't help but lean into him. His touch was so light, so quiet. She wanted nothing more than to cry about it She wasn't sure why, either. She knew he was trying to help I some way, but it all just.. well, it certainly didn't do much to help her. What if she never felt like that? She knew it made sense for Kai to feel like that, especially after what he'd been through. She let out a soft breath and her forehead fell against his for a moment. "Malakai I don't think..." she trailed off s lightly, and her brows pinched back together. "Waiting when we have the chance seems... wrong. And it's not like I don't want a baby or anything right away," she murmured softly after a moment. She didn't want to wait to start her family.... but there it was. "yes, but Kai... what if I don't? What if I never see them that way?" She asked quietly. Edited at February 24, 2025 02:03 AM by Belle

Malakai Negri - Kai kissed her forehead. "You will, baby, you're a good person, I know you will," he said, very sure of it. "We will have kids, and we will have our little family, I promise. But we're just gonna wait a little," he reassured her, holding her close. "It'll be better for the kids too. Remember how we grew up? Trained into the mold of a prospect king or queen from the age of 3? We didn't have time to be kids," he sighed. "Look at my brother and sister. They know they'll have to step up if I die. They know what to do and how to do it right, but they are still able to be so carefree, still be a kid,"

Camery Valatieri - Cam nodded slowly, although she didn't feel easy about it. She did want children, but the idea that she needed them was more potent in her mind. It was different for Kai. He had siblings. He had people that would take over. She didn't. It felt like they needed to have these children as soon as possible, if he'd let her. When he kissed her forehead, though, she smiled gently and leaned in to his chest again. He was right. She knew how these children would feel if they had them before they were ready. She sighed again, and used his arm to pillow her head. "I remember," she whispered. She also remembered being so loved by her family. They'd do anything for her. "And I remember my parents waiting. Kai they nearly struggled to have children. They had me and couldn't have any more. I don't want..." she trailed off quickly, letting out a soft breath. She knew he wouldn't let her carry any child unless he knew she wanted it. And, she did want it... but mahbe not entirely for the right reasons.

Malakai Negri - Kai just held her rubbing her back. "We won't wait too long. I'm not saying we should have kids in our thirties and forties," he reassured her. "I'm sure you'll see it differently within the next few years, and then we'll have kids. I just want you to want them for the right reasons," he explained. "And waiting a few years, our bodies won't change that much within the next few years. We'll both still be functional, energetic, and fertile. We have lots of time. I promise you we will have as many babies as you want, so long as you want them for the right reasons,"

Camery Valatieri - Camery buried into him a little closer, the movments along her back comforting to some extent. She still didnt understand why he wanted to wait, not entirely. It had just been so drilled into her, that as a queen, her one job was to give her husband heirs. That was her sole responsibility. She never thought she'd be asked to wait. She loved Kai, and she did want a family, too, but her kingdom was always at the front of her mind. They were just two people, and soon together they'd be looking over thousands of people together. The least they can do is ensure their future. And her kingdom back home, too. Once her own parents passed away, she'd have to step up for them. Split it two, essentially. She nodded slowly, and let out a gentle breath. She knew Kai had a rough time of it. She didn't want that for her own children. She might see it differently, or she might now, but he wasn't going to let her go through with anything unless it was for the right cause. "Alright," she whispered after a moment. She wasn't happy with the idea at all... it didn't sit right with her, even if she could see why he might want to wait.

Camery Valatieri - Cam just nodded and settled down next to him. She didn't understand it at all. It scared her a little, actually. She'd just grown up with the idea that no matter what, she'd have her children - but she'd also grown up with the idea that she'd never be married to someone she loved. Or, that the person she married would love her. Not as intensely as Malakai loved her, at least. She supposed, in this situation, it would be best to wait, until it was something they really felt ready for. She let out a soft breath, and curled into him a little more when she felt his hand land on her back in a hug, just closing her eyes and trying to drift off.

Malakai Negri - Kai buried his nose in her hair, holding her tight. He hated to deny her this, but he really thought it was for the best for them in the long run. "I'm sorry..." he whispered. "I want to give you your kids and everything you ever want... but I really think this is best right now..." he whispered. He hoped she wasn't upset with him...
