Max became distant, quiet even. Didn't hold her hand, kiss her, or even hug her. He saw a girl he was talking walking by when Kylie and him were sitting together, Max standing and going after her. "Kayla!" He called, the girl walking towards him and both of them walking off before he came back a few minutes.

"Childhood friend, hadn't seen her in years." Max lied, not saying she was the girl he'd been seeing and they weren't talking but instead making out behind the corner.

Max went on and on about how she had always been there and how they'd grown so close, all lies. The way his expression changed when he said her name, how enthusiastic about her he was, how far away he was sitting from Kylie on the bench. His phone dinged. A text from Kayla. "Oh shit I have to go, work meeting." The man covered it up, grabbing his bag before walking off.

Kayla answered, Max at the table in just his boxers. His face paled when he saw Kylie, rushing forward and slamming the door. "Never open it for her if you're here," He instructed her, voice quiet. Kayla nodded, dragging him back to his room with a smirk.
