Jacob pats flame as he ran after her, it was like horse chasing a cow but it wasn't the same, Jacob kicks flame to go faster and extend his reins to let his horse to go faster, Jacob smiles and he was gaining up on her, he wonders why she want a chase but he was up to it. Dakota now thought of it as a game. She smirked and nudged Athena to go faster. She never looked back. She thought by now they would've lost them, so she stopped. But, then she heard hooves pounding the ground. Then they stopped... "Hello?" A voice said from behind her. She turned around slowly. "Hi!" Dakota kindly answered. Athena noticed the black stallion and pranced around happily. Dakota and Jacob locked eyes.

jacob stares at her brown eyes before braking away and said " my name is jacob and you are" flames pounds the ground happy to see a mare in front of him, jacob look back at her and smiles he didn't know why he went after her but he knew that she was pretty and man throughts eyes was charming to him but he had brown eyes too.

"Oh sorry! I'm Dakota and this is my mare Athena!" Dakota smiled and looked down. Athena walked up and bumped noses with Jacob's stallion. She nickered and stomped the ground. "I-I saw you at your cow ranch. I was wondering if you did any shows? Like jumping or anything. Me and Athena do showjumping and barrel racing." As she waited for an aswer, She looked into the sky. Her bright green eyes shimmered in the sunlight. Then, he answered...

Jacob said " well I do cow roping and team roping sometimes also jumping but I have done that for a while since the cows I gotten " then said " pretty mare you got this guy is flame" as Jacob leads down and pats his neck, Jacob looks back of him but then looks at her and said " wait you were at the cow market I saw you"

"Y-Yes I was. And thank you! Athena seems to really enjoy having a new friend! We haven't been in the showing ring for awile either. Ever since I broke my collarbone, we haven't competed. Well anyways, Your horse is stunning. I saw him when we were riding earlier! I've had Athena ever since she was a foal. She was rescued from a barn fire." Athena looks down in sadness. Dakota reaches down to calm her. The clouds were getting dark. "Looks like there's a storm coming. We must go. I'll see you around!" Dakota turned to leave. She looked back at his brown eyes and smiled.

Flame want to comfort Athena he whines and riches his head out, Jacob looks at the sky and said " do you want me too take you back home or are you going to be fine" he knew what could happen in rain or a storm at least, Jacob smiles and moves in his saddle to get comfortable which makes flame pin his ears back

Dakota turned back around. She didn't know what to say. "Um, Yeah! That would be great!" Dakota didn't know what else to say. Athena was quite happy with the news! She threw her head up in the air and snorted. As Jacob and Flame caught up to them, Dakota blushed. She's never had a crush on anyone. But Jacob was different. They walked down the road. They were both turned away from each other in embarassment. Dakota was speechless. Light sprinkles of rain fell on her sholders. The sky rumbled. Athena reared up and cried in fear. But the comfort of Flame calmed her. She was always frightened during storms because that's how she lost her family. She could still hear them criying in pain as the fire exploded. The smell of smoke drained her nose. The last thing she heard was the crakling of the fire. Dakota knew what Athena was thinking about. The random shutters of Athena told her. Dakota patted Athena's head. Dakota turned to Jacob. His wavy black hair covered his forehead. She grinned and looked away. Then she arrived at her house...

Jacob looks at her place and said " what a nice place you got " Jacob felts the small rain drops and remembers he had to put cow away once he gets home, flame kept his head low but not that low as he walks with them, Jacob nevertheless had a girlfriend before but a crush wasn't different as a girlfriend would be but nevertheless he like the feeling he had for her

"Thank you!" Dakota said, "It's an old family farm. I've lived here ever since I was born. Once my parents died, I took over." She smiled at Jacob. The rain fell harder. To Dakota, Jacob was more than a crush. She just didn't know how to tell him. Dakota hopped off Athena and turned to Jacob and Flame. "I must get going before it starts pouring. I'll see you and Flame around." She blushed and led Athena to the barn...
