She perked her ears to head West and nodded some, "Sure. Give me a moment." She carefully got up and watched as the birds flew off of her back and into the tree. Once they were all gone she trotted to the mouth of the cave and looked outside while standing beside West. "It does seem cooler," she says and feels a slight breeze that felt much cooler than earlier.

West smiled slightly and walked out towards the lake. The breeze ruffled his mane and blew it out, getting under his hot, sweaty neck. "Beautiful weather now, but it means a storm is coming in." West sighed, looking up at the quickly greeting Sky. Very warm, then a breeze, then a string wind, then a thunderstorm. That's how it always went

She walked out behind him and looked up at the sky. "At least a storm will help cool things down a little more," she points out, "it always did when I was in the desert anyway. Whenever it did rain though we all thought of it as a blessing and the colts and fillies would run around in the rain. It was a sight to see." She sighed some remembering the good memories from her past home.

West shook his head. "As my father once said, 'oh you bowlegged little skinny boy'" he laughed. "You know... nothing of the storms in the mountains. This is going to be a whopper... and when we have a whopper storm come through we are talking winds high enough to carry horses away, rip trees out of the ground, and make water tornadoes with the rivers." West looked nervous..

"Oh-" she says and looks at him shocked, "that.. That does not sound nice at all. It was never like that in the desert.." She could see the nervousness on West and felt nervous herself. "So what do we do to take cover," she asks, "do we just go back in the cave or what?"

"Yes. If that tree hasn't fallen yet it won't now." West shifted his weight. The wind had started to pick up, and now could Ben considered a gale. It blew hard against the sides of the valley. "If it's bad in here, it must be terrible out there." West murmured thoughtfully, walking to the cave. No more birds flew around.. and a weird thing happened. Bears walked through the gap and into the cave. Cougars. Foxes. Wolves. Rabbits. Coyotes. Any animal, you name it. They all walked into the valley quietly, following West into the cave. The weirdest thing: West didn't even seem concerned

She nodded some as he mentioned the tree within the cave. The gale blew through her pelt and she perked her ears up and could hear thunder very faintly in the distance. -Storms getting close- she thinks and starts to turn towards the cave with West. She glanced back hearing something behind her and was shocked to see the variety of animals following them. From predators to prey, the animals came into the cave with them and were not fighting. -They all just want to be safe- she thinks -they set aside their differences to take shelter from the storm.- Wither's eyes watched them in amazement as they entered the cave and watched as the animals spread out to make room for others. West glanced at Wither's amazed look and laughed. "If you never get bad storms down south, you must not have seen this before, either. When we get a really bad storm, the animal with the best home and the biggest makes room for all the others. It just increases chances of staying alive. Why they don't fight: that would be the exact opposite reason they came in here. So they just, sit there. Till the storm is over." West smiled slightly, looking at all the animals that were still filtering into the humongous cave

"That's kind of cool," she says and watches as more animals come in. A few birds from outside fly through the holes in the ceiling and perch in the massive tree. A few climbing animals like raccoons, possums, and squirrels skitter into the tree as well to keep out of the way of the bigger animals. She noticed as a herd of deer came in and made their way over to an emptier area. Wither wondered if it was the same herd as earlier and if they were all from the same herd or were multiple herd joined together to find this shelter.

A young buck walked over to West, sniffing him. "And see? Fun games get started like this!" West chuckled, giving a little snort and jumping at the deer. The deer jumped back, then chased West in a circle before turning. West chased the deer a little bit, and they obviously hit I think off at the start. They only stopped playing, as again, when Both were wet and sweaty. "See? Deer are so much fun." He huffed, taking a drink of water
