The girl nodded, raising her arms to defend herself the best she could. She stood ridged for a few moments before relaxing and realizing the spoon really, really wasn't going to hurt her. Eventually, she tried to bat Sage's spoon with hers before scoffing at her own feeble attempts. Sage had managed to poke her a few times, only making her chuckle. She could tell that the boy was still going easy on her - and she was more than grateful. It meant she managed to poke him back once or twice. Er well, she nearly had.

Sage was having fun, and when Anya started going for some attacks he let her, knowing it was good to know and she would need the skills at some point. "If you're going to hit me, think of actually hitting me. Don't stop the spoon when you think you'll hit me. Imagine hitting the side of my body opposite of what you're aiming for. Aim for the chest, think of hitting my back. Got it?"

Anya gave him a nod, "Ah so think to impale?" She asked with a slightly tilted head. So, she did just that. Basically tried to impale him. Only once or twice, but she first went for under his chest as he said - only, she cringed when she felt the end of the spoon rattle against his ribs. She hadn't used much force. Sage had mentioned the food in the kingdom's slums was scarce, she didn't think it was so bad though. She second time she went for his side, but her spoon slipped and she stumbled a step or two. She paused for a moment, glaring at the spoon as if it had betrayed her. "I think that's enough for me," She groaned with a defeated tone. Edited at July 31, 2022 04:11 PM by Belle

Sage chuckled and shrugged. "Alright. You did good though. Even got a hit in." She hadn't hit him hard, which he had expected, but it was still a hit. If she had meant to hurt him, she would have done so. He took the spoon from her and put them away before coming back and sitting down again. "Practice what I taught you even like a few minutes by yourself and you'll be good to go."

Anya nodded and waddled back towards the table, "Mhm, I'll make time for it during my oh-so-busy day," She teased, rolling her eyes. She gave him a playful wink. It wasn't very often she had an overly packed day. The last few days were an exception to that. "I'm sure I'll be fine in time. Especially with the best fighter around teaching me the ropes." She looked at him with a wrinkled nose, "You know you giggle like a little girl?" She asked with a laugh, "It caught me off gaurd. I didn't expect it to come out of you." Anya huffed, shaking her head.

Sage snorted. "No I don't," he protested. Lizzie nodded enthusiastically and agreed with Anya. "You sound like me!" Sage wrinkled his nose. "So the 'beat fighter around' also happens to giggle like a little girl." He chuckled and blushed slightly, not having expected Anya to pay much attention to anything he did that wasn't showing her what to do. Then he grinned. "But hey, if it caught you off guard it means I'm still the mysterious boy you love oh so much and just can't live without," he teased her. He knew she didn't love him, which was why he could tease her about it. Besides, he was talking more along the lines of a family type love not like, romance. He didn't think that would ever happen to him, no matter who the girl was.

The girl grinned brightly, resting her head on her hands as she looked at him, "Oh yeah. Your adorable little girl giggle didn't put me off at all." She laughted, putting giving him a pout. "Still Mr mysterious tavern boy." Anya stifled a chortle. She quite enjoyed hopping in and out of banter with Sage; he always had something amusing to say. It was quite different to what she was used to in the castle. Everything was always so propoer. She could count on one hand the amount of times people had actually been comfortable enough to joke about with her. She had known Sage no more than three days and yet she had more fun with him than seventeen years in the castle. Edited at July 31, 2022 06:20 PM by Belle

He cackled and shook his head, amused. He was surprised that he already trusted Anya so much and they had barely met a few days ago. "Yep, but you live me anyway," he chortled, knowing full well it was a friendship type of love that they had. Romance was out of the question, even if they did manage to fall in love...there were rules and no one would want her to be with someone lower than her, let alone him. But he was ok to settle with a friendship...he had never had one like this before, since he could never trust anyone.

The girl raised a brow at him as a smirk grew on her face. Anya hadn't known him very long - and yet, she found herself rather fond of him. She had been going out at night since she could remember, but she had never felt safe until she met Sage. The two seemed to have gelled. The thought of going out alone again just seemed so wrong. "You might be right, I adore you." She noted with a teasing snicker. "I don't know what I'd do with out you know." Anya grinned, giving him a playful wink. Technically, she wasn't lying. She would quite literally be lost without him now. That, or being held captive by who knows. Despite not having an awful lot, Sage always seemed up beat - to some extent, which was mote than the reat of the kingdom. But maybe it just seemed that way because everyone else were either lazy, drunk, or dead.

Sage felt his face redden slightly and was suddenly thankful for the dirt on his face and hoped it covered the blush up. He hadn't expected her to agree, even if it was teasing. He hadn't actually heard anyone say something like that before and it made him feel all worm and fuzzy inside, though he didn't show that much. He managed to grin and giver her a playful wink back. "Well that's because I'm your favorite person ever, obviously." Lizzie piped up from the corner with a grin. "You two are totally in love," she giggled. Sages face turned the color of a ripe tomato and whipped his head around to glare at Lizzie. "Liz! No! Friends," he protested, sputtering out single words as he could. Lizzie giggled again and looked at Anya with a wide grin. "He gets flustered easy!"
