Maverick smiled faintly "I appreciate that you care, Makena, I really do but some things you just have to wait out" he said looking back at the time and sighing "I need to go home now, see you at school tomorrow?"

Makena forced a smile, and nodded, "See you tomorrow.." She tried her best to push away the thoughts, but they kept coming to her head. She really wanted to help, but she knew there was nothing she could do..

Maverick leaned down and kissed her cheek before starting to leave,waving with a small smile as he looked back over his shoulder at her one more time before rushing out the door

Makena gave a small wave to Maverick as he turned, and walked out of the house. There was a small twinge in her stomach as she watched him leave, and she got a bit nervous as she weaved in and out of the people. She decided just to leave as she gazed around- Many of the teens there were yelling at each other, or stumbling around, as if they had lost their minds.

Maverick was sprinting home, flinging himself around turns, he knew his father would be back soon and it needed to look like he had actually been home for a while, so he would have to change back into his clothes from earlier too

Makena brushed off a hand that landed on her shoulder, quickening her pace as she neared the door. But this time, the hand grasped her shoulder harder, sending a small pain through her arm. This time, she firmly pushed it off, and wheeled around, ready to through her hands at the person. She had enough drama for one night-

He dashed up to his room, changed shirts, ran through the house to try make it look more lived in and then back up to his room as he heard a car pull up, flopping onto his bed and pulling his phone out, sighing with relief

Makena quickly gave a small smile as she turned to see who it was; It was just one of her middle school friends, Rachel. "Hey girl! Whatcha up to?" Rachel asked, smiling as she gave Makena a hug. "Um.. I was about to leave. Don't wanna get into any trouble." Makena answered with a small smile.

His father walked up the stairs and looked at Maverick "how long you been here kid" he asked and Mav winced, his father's voice was cold at best, but he was irritated so it was cruel too, his built in reaction was to make sure his dad wasnt between him and the door... But he was so Mav became panicky "a few hours s-sir" he answered sitting up, getting deffensive "why are you scared then, Maverick?" the man asked stepping closer

"Aww..! Cmon, you ain't gonna get into any trouble! Why don't you come hang with me and Liz..?" Rachel pleaded, taking Makena's hand and smiling. Makena hesitated, but then laughed, "Whatever!" She finally answered, and followed behind Rachel.
