"In that case, I think I'll go visit my father today and pick up a few of my things on the way back. It's been a few days since I've spent time with him.." She hummed thoughtfully, giving one more good stretch and squirm in his bed before finally getting up as well. |

Laurel decided to leave with one little tease for the day. She went over to him, drawing in close as she ran a hand into his hair and looked up at him innocently. "Think of me today.." she smiled, her tone sweet and playful as she pressed a light kiss to his lower jaw before beginning to pull away teasingly. |

Laurel hadn't exactly meant to get so comfortable. She had only wanted to tease and keep him intrigued while letting him get a taste of her playful and bold side, but it seemed she'd gone a step too far. "Apologies, Mr. Catalano.." she muttered in return before scurrying off to her own room to get dressed to leave and rid herself of the embarrassment she'd caused. She liked him, God, she did. She had to be careful before she got too attached. |

Laurel took a deep breath while in her room, her back pressed against the door. No matter what we do, we will never be anything. Never.. She had to desperately remind herself of the rules, but she was already in too deep. She had done the one thing she wasn't supposed to do and she couldn't do anything about it. She groaned softly and rubbed her hands across her face before finally getting dressed. Once she was ready she finally left her room and started to leave, praying she didn't have an awkward confrontation with Luca before she left. |

Laurel left without another word, beating herself up for having kissed him, even if it was just a simple peck to his jaw. He could see right through her. He knew she was falling for him, and she was sure that there could only be one more slip and she could kiss her job safety net goodbye.
- Heading for the hospital seemed to clear her head, as she was quite excited to visit her father. He had noticed how good she seemed to be doing here lately and it made the old man happy. What Laurel hadn't expected, however, was to walk in to a shit show. Nurses worked hurriedly around her father, who's vitals were in a rapid decline. They had to wrestle Laurel out of the room, explaining to her that everything was going to be alright and that she needed to hang tight while they got him stabilized. He had a stroke followed by a couple of seizures and a rise in blood pressure. It left him mostly unresponsive, as the stroke had taken a huge toll on his body. Even though they didn't out right tell her, she overheard the nurses talking about how they feared that another stroke or more seizures were quite possible and that more extensive measures would need to be taken with her father. |
