Rose slept peacefully until around 2am when she woke up randomly. She turned around and buried her face into his chest, trying so hard to fall asleep once more but failing repeatedly as she lay there with him. She traced shapes on his chest, wishing she were tired enough to fall asleep again

His chest rose and fell rythmitycly,his heartbeat like a drum,a anchor,if you will.Caden had no dreams,no nightmares,just rest,something that had'nt come in a long while.He could feel the flciker of a finger,tracing his chest.His eyes fluttered open slowly,his eyes locking on her and warming,his face staying the same.Flat,no emotion,pale,nothingness.Yet,his eyes held more then words could explain.

Rose locked eyes with him, her hand stilling. "Sorry" She muttered, looking down and just tucking her head against his chest

Caden did'nt respond,but instead pulled her closer,kissing the top of her head before his eyes flickered shut.

Rose's chest warmed slightly as she felt his lips press to her head and he fell asleep again, relieved she hadn't kept him up too long

Caden awoke again,only staying awake for a few minutes before falling back under.Again,it was only rest,not dreams,no thoughts,nothing but rest.

rose waited as he awkoe and slept multiple times over, wishing she could do something about his discomfort

The sun filtered into the room as Caden awoke with a soft groan as he sat up,quietly slipping out of bed and pulling on a hoodie,shoving his airpods into his pocket before heading downstairs.He put in his airpods,turning on a mix of styles as he started making himself breakfast and a large cup of coffee.

Rose got up silently after him, watching him. She walked downstairs and sat at the bar

Caden ran a hand through his hair as the music blared,his coffee finally finished.He reached into his pocket and pulled something out.The keys.The things he had dived into the lake for,the things that made him want to seize existing.Caden sighed.catching them in his hands as he pulled on a pair of slides,heading out the backdoor to the dock and staring out at the water.
