She nodded, standing and slipping away from him. "Sleep well." She murmured, shutting the light off and closing the door. It was... hours later. Mercy was sitting, staring at her fingers on the couch. She was attempting to thing of what she could do to help him, but in every way, she was drawing a blank.

Almost immediately after Mercy left Ajax passed out. He did not fall asleep, as planned, but the blackness swooped in around his eyes and he lapsed into unconsciousness. A couple hours later he awoke, wincing as the pain rushed back. He sat still for a moment before pulling himself up in the bed till he was sitting. Ajax then swung his legs over the end of the bed, surprised he could do that. Dizziness swayed in, but he pushed it away and stood, pain shrieking through his wounds. Ajax did all the this silently, since he was good at that. He then snatched up a shirt that Mercy had gotten him and slipped it on, glancing around warily. He still hadn't made a noise... he was being careful not to. Ajax decided his own pants were completely fine since there was only a couple small tears, all below the knees. He ran a hand through his hair and confirmed all his appendages worked, smiling slightly. Once all this had been done very quietly, he stepped across the floor and stared out the window. Ajax wished badly he could be out there... in the wilderness... with the animals. Though, something did creep into his mind that annoyed him greatly and made him a tiny bit angry. He was thankful... just a little... that he actually had sensible company for once. Goose and Rooster didn't count because Rooster didn't speak and had a short temper, and Goose could not be serious if his life depended on it. They both cared about him but Rooster would freeze if anything went wrong (or bash a couple heads in), and Goose would run in circles frantically getting NOTHING done, or even making things worse. Mercy was kind and she could help, and that is what made Ajax decide not to climb out the window and disappear. She cared, and he didn't want to hurt her by just leaving. Even though he could have opened the window and left, he walked to the door and quietly opened it, stepping out.

She was staring thoughtlessly at her fingers, staying that way until, out of the corner of her eye, she saw his figure. She blinked rapidly in surprise, turning to face him. "Ajax-" Mercy started, but she didn't stand. Even if she coukd help, he wouldn't let her. So she stayed, hesitantly seated on the couch. "You alright, cheese?" She asked quietly.

Ajax watched Mercy jump a little, then came to the wall that faced her and leaned up against it with a slight wince. "I look much better now that you can't TELL I look like Swiss cheese. Shush." He commented with a slight smile. "I'll be fine. Someday." Ajax replied, bending his fingers then letting them relax with a sigh.

Her eyes followed him as she moved, and she smiled at his little comment. "Well, someone has to take your ego down a couple notches." Mercy teased. "Hungry? Thirsty? Or are you here to tell me you're running away to the woods because you can't stand it here?"

Ajax looked around, then raised his hands slightly. "What ego?" He asked innocently, though his eyes told it all. "Not hungry, could do for some water, and no..." He trailed off slowly, looking a little dejected. "No, not here to run off." Ajax finally finished.

She rolled her eyes at him, standing and walking into the kitchen. She came back with a glass of water, pressing it gently into his hand as she looked up at him. She nodded quietly at his responses. "Just tired of sleeping?" She suggested teasingly, guiding him to sit on the couch.

Ajax took the water as it was *gently* handed to him, snorting sougjtly but walking over and sitting down anyway. It would be nice to rest a little more. "Yes, I'm not used to sleeping three hours in a row." He half grinned, chuckling slightly

She chuckled and settled on the other side of the couch, curling up as though she were cold. "So you just missed me that much that you decided to come say hi?" She teased, watching him slightly anxiously. She knew he didn't really like it here, and lots of things were running through her overthinking brain. What if it was because he didn't like her? Or her room was wierd? Or she was wierd? Or he just really wanted her to leave him alone? That was mainly what had been spiraling through her brain while he slept.

Ajax rolled his eyes, running a hand through his black hair with a sigh. "Nooo, I was bored of sitting still and jumping out a window sounded painful." He said drily, though his eyes sparkled enough that his voice really didn't matter. Ajax studied Mercy's expression, and although he wasn't the best with people/angels/demons/whatever-you-want-to-call-them... he could tell she was anxious, and he could tell she knew he didn't exactly want to be here. -funny, considering I stayed for her- Ajax thought shortly, moving his shoulder a little to see if it would actually move, looking triumphant (if not agonized) when it did.
