At his silence, she looked straight ahead. Oh, so he was going to make her do al the work? Alrighty then. Flo took a breath before leaning her head against his shoulder eer so slightly. She stared at the wall, scared to glance at him. How would he react? Was the kiss purely impulse? Was she reading their entire situation wrong? She stayed there for a few moments, scared that it may shatter if she was wrong.

Sage wasn't quite sure what to make of the situation, at first, when she rested her head on him. He'd tensed slightly, glancing down at her in shock. He quickly realized he like it though, and despite being definitely very awkward about his emotions he wrapped an arm around her, doing his best to...do whatever it was she wanted him to. He wanted her to like him....love him ...but he doubted that was possible. He'd take what he could get though, he really would.

Florida's ulse sped when she felt his arm come around his shoulders. She relaxed against him, letting out a breath she didn't know she was holding. Her head tilted up to look at him through her pale green eyes. She wanted to speak, but she didn't know hat to say. She didn't want to break their moment with her crazy awkwardness that was eventually going to bubble out and mess everything up. She could feel it...

Sage felt a sort of smile drift across his face when the girl relaxed against him. He'd sort of shifted to curl on a bit more, resting to where his head was lightly on her, nose pressed against her head so he could breathe in her scent. It was nice....sort of like the flowers she'd picked the other day, despite the circumstances. He felt her gaze and looked back at her, offering her a smile, but he wasn't sure what to say. He didn't want to mess anything up.

Flo blushed as he looked down at her. When he smiled it made her smile larger even though she was still grieving from the loss of her best friend. her fingers reached out, lightly tracing the veins on his arms and hands. She could feel his steady breathing against her side, her face turning a deeper shade of pink when she felt the pressure of his head on hers. She wanted to apologize for every hurtful thing she had ever said to him even though she had already apologized... multiple times. If just a few weeks ago she had been told that she would be in the arms of the person she bullied, she would have laughed in their face. Now? Now she welcomed it with open arms. She welcomed him. Sage couldn't help the smile that formed on his face when he felt her fingers run along his hands and arms. It felt nice, having the creature comforts that weren't scary. Didn't hurt him. It was just...odd. but certainly nice. He hadn't felt this sage in a long time, which was ironic given the whole war situation around them. "You're pretty remarkable, you know that," he sort of murmured after a moment or two, moving to look down at her happily. "whoever marries you will be a very lucky man," he added.

Florida smiled a little when his voice filled the air. "I don't know about remarkable" she said softly, tilting her head to look at him. She didn't have words for the last few words. Her face just turned red at the thought of making it through a relationship long enough to consider marriage. She giggled a little. "I don't think anyone having to deal with me on a regular basis is lucky" she teased

Sage sort of just hummed and shrugged. "well I do," he mused before chuckling in response to her comment. "The right person will find you endearing," he added lightly. "Besides you can't be that bad, I'm still here and you haven't driven me crazy yet," he added with a grin.

"I haven't driven you crazy. Yeah right" Florida gave his shoulder a little nudge, biting back a giggle. She rolled her eyes, her smile happening whether she wanted it to or not. His words played back in her mind. The right person will find you endearing. Did he include himself as that "right person"? She pushed it away.

Sage snorted lightly in response to her comment and nudge, grinning over at her happily. "I'm serious," he noted, still chuckling from their conversation. "We slept together last night and I still find you pleasant to be around, and that's about as close as we can get," he pointed out. Then he realized his wording was a bit...wrong?...and flushed bright red. "I mean...we didn't like....sleep together sleep together," he sort of sputtered. "But same bed," he added, attempting to explain what he meant and just getting more and more flustered before he gave up with a huff of "fuck," to himself.
