Caden got lost in thought for a minute,snapping out.When he was lost in thought he always had a blank stare,when snapped out he had a feel to his eyes.

Rose noticed. "You alright?" She asked quietly

"Yeah,just fine." He say,looking at her and smiling,a yawn slipping out.

"Ready for bed?" She asked

"Yes." Caden replied,getting up and tossing on a hoodie,climbing under the sheets,fatigue from the fever setting in.

Rose watched him before curling up under the covers

He faced away from her,not his usual direction.Murphy hopped up,curling up near him and whining at him.

Rose opened her mouth to ask if he was alright again, but shut it. She didn't want to upset him. She turned around and faced away from her, no longer smiling, and closed her eyes

Caden turned towards Murphy,grabbing him and holding him close once he turned away again,the dog settling in quickly before they both fell asleep.

Rose fell asleep into a nightmare
