Mercy was on the edge of the blast zone, staring at the contaminated forest around her. She was starting to wonder if she would ever see another human again when she realized she had better things to be doing. She kept walking on through the sparse, sick trees toward the outline of an abandoned cabin. She looked around outside and found herself a few tools- some scissors, a few fishing hooks. She didnt think about the people who had to have lived here at one point. She refused to let herself do that. The walked around to the front and opened the door, searching mainly for food. The back of the house had been blown to dust, but the kitchen, toward the front of the house, was still intact. She searched around through the cabinets. There were a few salvageable canned goods and soap. Oh thank the LORDS, Soap. She found a blanket that she could salvage and a few knives that weren't in too bad of a shape. She shoved the things into her satchel and snatched all the bottled water she could find, standing by for a few moments to look around and imagine what it used to look like. |

Xan opened his eyes to the narrow walls of the tent he had set up last night, Xan may have gotten 3...2 hours of sleep? it was hard to estimate as he mostly sat up, with a gun that barely had any ammo, and watched the door of the tent. It was quite questionable how he was even able to survive this long...he hadn't seen another human in, months? well, ever since the start of all the creepy zombies. Yawning, he moved over to the flap of the tent, unzipped it, and scooted outside. Another day of living on the edge. he thought, glancing around to check for any stray zombies. Xan had noted that many zombies would travel in large groups...or pairs, so it wasn't often you'd see one alone, but it wasn't impossible. One thing he had learned from all those fake apocalypse movies he'd watched was to not let your guard down, even if you do feel safe. This is exactly what he followed, he never stayed in one spot for too long, always traveling. Grabbing the gun, and then undoing the tent, he grabbed the rest of his stuff and started north, everyone in awhile he'd turn around to make sure none of those 'ghoulies' was silently following him.

- sniffle - why you gotta flex on me like that, man?)) Mercy sighed. It was so ironic how she could never stomach horror movies, or the Walking Dead, in the before, but she was living in them now. She slipped her belongings back on and retied her long auburn hair into a sleek bun. She quietly leapt from the porch to the ground, walking on through the forest. She headed north, where the thick, healthy forest was. She usually moved from tree to tree, since zombies couldnt climb. You know, the whole rotting skin thing doesnt really work when trying to scale a tree. She grabbed a bottle of water from her bag and sipped it quietly. There was only a few hours of daylight left, so she fogured she had better get walking if she was going to be productive. She shoved the water back in her bag and grabbed out a pre-packaged protein bar, eating it while she walked on quietly. As she made her way farther North, she encountered a bush ripe with poisonous red berries. She grabbed a bunch of them and threw them into a little cloth bag. "I don't know if dead people react to poison, but if they do, these should work nicely." |

(because....um.....because.......I HAVE TO OKAY?)
Xan had been walking for awhile, and so far he had only killed one zombie today...which was defiantly a good thing as it was usually 5-10, but it was also a bad thing because he was severely low on ammo, and food, and water, he was pretty much low on everything- which wasnt usually like him...yet he didn't know better, he had changed every sense the break out...seeing the human population drop by millions in under the span of fewer than 24 hours. Yet he knew that this environment was not for the weak, as surviving out here was an everyday challenge. Focusing back on the path ahead of him, a very old log cabin stood in his path...maybe it had been burned because the wood looked like it was about to collapse ;wink wink;, Was he really going into this cabin for resources that were probably burned? yes, yes he was. Xander approached the cabin carefully, twisting the knob gently and letting the door swing open, just barely moving away as a knife came barreling forward. "Jesus!" He said. This was a trap, did that mean someone was inside? a disgusting stench reeked the cabin which eventually flowed outside, causing Xan to cough for a good minute. He took a few steps forward, the wood below him creaking. "That's disgusting..." He murmured, staring at the corpse that sat in a chair. Walking fully inside while trying his best not to inhale the disgusting air, he looked around for a bit, just to find nothing. As he was about to leave he heard the distinct creaking of wood, then chips of wood started to fall down to the floor, then came a full-on log...The house was collapsing, and Xander was to far to reach the door in time... |
