"Its not so much wanting to quit, just a bit time consuming really" She smiled, her voice quiet. "And its..fine. You get used to it after a while, being around girls like them." She pulled her phone out to check the time, making sure she wouldnt be late for class. Her mother would no doubt lecture her if she got another call home from the principal. Ella moved out the way of a couple younger people before continuing to speak. "Oh it must be so annoying being so well known and popular" She joked, the warm smile staying n her face.

Drake's smile stayed on his face as Ella replied. "I know, I mean, who wouldn't want to be friends with me?" He said, laughing again. The lunch bell went off and everyone herded themselves to the doors. "Can I get your snap?" Drake asked, not wanting to lose the opportunity as lunch ended. She was pretty and wasn't running her acrylics down his arm, so he liked her much more than the average cheerleader.

Drake's last comment took Ella by surprise slightly, and it took her a moment to process the words, but as soon as she had she offered a smile and nodded. She pulled her phone out and handed it to him to type his own name in, looking around at the school as she waited. The last school year had been absolute torture for various reasons, but this year? Seemed like it might go better. It was only thr first day, though, so no guaranteeing that. Ella looked up from her feet as people rushed past her. "you've had the same classes as me today, you might be on my schedule for the rest of the year at this point. do you wanna walk to next class?" she blushed slightly while asking, mainly because she had finally gotten out a long sentence, but it quickly vanished. As stupid as the sentence sounded, she liked talking to Drake but also knew she couldnt afford to be late.

His comment seemed to catch Ella off guard, and she took a moment to process it, but she handed her phone over and he typed his snap in. Her next comment caught Drake off guard a bit, and thought he saw her blush but it was gone as fast as it came. He smiled and started walking towards the exit. "Sure, what do you have next? I've got science."

"the same as you, i think." She took her phone back and offered a quick smile, stuffing the device back in her pocket after checking to make sure she was right. Oh wouldnt it have been so embarrasing if she was wrong? She beckoned for Drake to follow, taking in the various actions and what not of other people in her year. It was always better to stay quiet and do that than pipe up, talk to people and miss things. "i never would have taken you for the type to actually..talk to people you aren't friends with." Ella's voice rose a little louder than it had been before, now they were in a crowded hallway.

Drake followed Ella out of the lunch room, into the busy hallway. "Yeah I probably wouldn't take myself for that guy either. I love my friends but I need a change of scenery every once in a while. I mean I only made the friends I have today by talking to them when I didn't know them, so I suppose it can't kill me, eh?" They walked into the science classroom, and Drake read on the whiteboard that they already had assigned seats. He sighed, "Assigned seats in the first day is a little overboard but we're next to eachother so I guess it could be worse." Drake and Ella shared a high top table in the back corner. It would be his seat of choice either way.

As Ella entered the classroom, staring around the already assigned seats, she felt a slight surge of relief as Drake said they were next to each other. She was quite good at science, definitely smarter than most of her friends, so they had ended up in lower sets, resulting in her pretty much being alone. Or she would have been, if it wasnt for Drake. She settled herself in her seat, raking her hair out her eyes as she did so. She had absolutely no idea what to say to him, down to the fact she hardly knew him, but it didnt hurt to try much, really. "do you do anything other than football then? or is that all you like doing?" she spoke, in a slight teasing voice. She enjoyed teasing others in a friendly manner, quite a lot, it seemed to be the only way she got words out without faltering.

Drake settled into his seat, Ella sitting down next to him. It looked like most of the class had arrived, they would probably start soon. Ella started speaking and he turned his head to look at her. Drake laughed before replying, "I like a couple other things, don't worry. I love travelling but I haven't been able to do much of that lately due to football. I really enjoy reading, I'm sure that one's a shocker, and I like listening to music. What about you? I'm sure you do more than eat sleep cheerlead repeat."

The class had grown a little louder, and Ella had to put her head slightly closer to be able to hear what Drake was saying. She nodded with most, though as he mentioned the reading her eyebrows raised. "i mean you're not wrong, i wouldn't have expected the reading." she laughed, though she admired it qite a lot. It was definitely better than a guy who mocks others for reading, gets drunk all the time, along those sort of lines. Ella rested her chin in her hand and tilted her head as he carried on speaking, a warm smile on her face. "actually, I haven't practised cheer the whole holiday. My parents dragged me off to Spain to see family, so i've been there." She frowned at the memory, shaking her head slightly. "i do ride horses though, i did a lot of that there."

Drake laughed with her, knowing she was suprised by the reading. It always caught people off guard, not that he told that many people about it. Drake half stood half sat in his tall chair, with a foot on the ground and a foot on the chair's fowl toward the bottom. He watched her talk with a small smile. "I'd love to go to Spain, but you sound like you've been a couple too many times." Drake laughed, "Horse riding. That's really cool, my sister dragged me on a trail ride in California when I was twelve, but I don't think that really counts for trying it." He was suprised by how much he enjoyed talking to Ella. She wasn't flirting with him, and she was funny. Every year he had a person or two that he had every class with. Ella would be a great one to have as a schedule buddy.
