Reacher almost was surprised. The evidence had been absolutely staggering, so the fact this young woman appeared out of nowhere, seemed to know what she was doing, and actually helped was surprising. More than surprising, actually, but shocking. He lifted his eyebrows a little as he looked at her, then the gavel hit the wood and the judge declared him a free man. The handcuffs were removed. "... Thank you. You did an astonishing job here." Reacher started quietly, nodding at the woman before walking out. Honestly? He had no home. Jail would have been just as good as any home he had. He may have been Ex-Army but that didn't mean he was set straight and given everything he wanted. Reacher stopped outside the courthouse and stared at the streets of cars, people, and things that meant nothing to him. A world of people, houses, and jobs, and yet he was still wandering alone.

Reacher turned with slight surprise at why she followed him out, letting out a small exhilation. "I don't know... I can get a motel room.. it'll be fine." He answered, shaking his head a little. He didn't want to lean on others for what he needed.

Reacher let out a slow breath and complied, following her. "You don't have to do this. I'll be perfectly fine somewhere else." He said, his words few but his brain running. Why would she want to help him, of all people? He was a convicted criminal! Even if he didn't actually do it.
