Eris's eyebrows lowered as the elf bolted up right. Much less attractive with the whole "Rah, perpetually angry" face, but still not bad. She tilted her head slightly at the mirrored confusion on his face, further puzzled by the anger. She blinked in surprise at his... curse... and surveyed him warily for a few moments. "What, exactly.." She began to grasp, looking surprised at the sound of her voice. She cleared her throat and started again, clearer this time. "What, exactly, scrambled your eggs?" She asked quietly, taking in a breath as he stared at her. She simply stared back, blinking a couple of times. She made some sort of wary head movement at the question, relaxing as much as she could into the bed. "No." She said flatly, in that blunt, flat, Fae tone of voice. "What happened?" She asked, keeping her eyes on the potential enemy without faltering.

Kin's face changed to a similar expression when she first started to speak. Gee. She must've run hard, she looked awful. "Well, I was thinking the whole seeing you again and I'm not at all surprised that you were where you were." He smiled sarcastically. "And a little that you survived."

The elf stretched his arms, exhaling tiredly. She didn't remember or what. "Well after the big scary bear came by we found a little over ..three hundred people and only a handful were still breathing that we found. Nobody has any idea where it came from, just theories." He paused. "I was kind of thinking it was you." He pulled his knees up but open and wrapped his arms around them loosely. Looking for a reaction while having none.

Of all the reasons it feels likely with all the facts that he had, who else would have reason to bring something like that to town. On the stand, trying to save herself. In the middle of a kingdom disputes. From what he remembered, she was fond of magic. It felt logical.

Eris hadn't expected him to be pleasant company, but damn. Upset because she was alive? That was kind of fucked up. Then again, Fae and Elves didn't necessarily root for each other. She listened intently to the explanation, suppressing a shudder at the answer. "That thing... is not of this world." She muttered, tensing against a foe that wasn't near. She raised her eyebrows in surprise at his insinuation, blinking a few times before she scowled at him. "I did not summon that demon. Despite what you might like to think of my kind, we are not heartless. We do not slaughter innocents. I do not slaughter innocents." She said harshly, as if offended by the mere insinuation. She looked at him down her nose, slightly disgusted by the idea that he considered her a suspect. She wasn't that terrible of a person.

"Why save me?" She asked, watching the warrior on the floor in... interest. A strangely behaving elf, indeed.

The elf tilted his head slightly, reading this expression of hurt, he assumed it was by his words. He hadn't meant them so rudely, it was majorly because of her wounds, but then again he didn't have any obligation to make her feel better.

He shrugged, didn't think any creature of this world could do that. He shifted slightly when she tried defending herself, his head tipping. It was very believable but he couldn't help it. "You must admit, it does seem reasonable that someone in your place, if desperate enough would do something like that to save themself." He didn't show much emotion past exhaustion, he hadn't sleep well even if it was like a brick.

"Wanted to hear from the hen's mouth I guess, on the off chance that you didn't, I didn't think you would mind." He was ..hoping she hadn't summoned it. That would surely mean war and he would prefer it that didn't happen.

Eris gave him a nasty glare, just short of baring her teeth. "I don't have to admit anything. I am not someone else. I am me and that isn't something I would do. You can jam that in your brain right now." She hissed, narrowing her eyes at him.

Letting out a breath, she didn't acknowledge the vague humor. "You speak strangely." She muttered, her only, irritated response. "What are you going to do to me now?" She asked boredly.

Kindred observed her quick and well earned anger and sharp tongue. Jaw stiffening, she could have. But faes cannot lie, despite their trickery he was starting to doubt she did.

"Thanks." He glared, it wasn't something he noticed. "I wasn't planning to do anything to you. More along the lines of if you can walk I would turn you in. You were about to be hanged, yeah?" He smiled sarcastically, embellishing nothing.

Eris rolled her eyes, moving to shift and then wincing at the searing pain in her leg. Little lights popped in her eyes and she settled back down with a scowl. Running was no option, apparently. Defending herself, even, would be hard- even if her shadows were wieldable. "Of course." She answered sarcastically, glancing at the ceiling and then the other parts of the room. So nice. So clean. So... welcoming, even for a prisoner. If the roles were reversed, and a wanted Elf was found anywhere in Greenbriar- they would be left for dead, no doubt.

Her ear flicked at the reminder of her imminent death, as if brushing an inconvenience off. "I might be hurt but I'm not stupid, I know why I'm here." She answered, letting out a bored sigh. She never said she intended to be dead, though. "Aren't you a soldier? Don't you have a job to be doing rather than pestering wounded convicts?" She mocked, not hiding her distaste for him in the slightest.

The elf's eyes flicked between her injuries and her face, just watching. He shrugged when she spoke. "I didn't say you were." He drew his feet under himself and stood up. He grabbed the bag at his feet and put it on, adjusting something on his wrist as he looked outside.

Kin laughed quietly as she chided onesiidedly. "Sure I do, but I think its so fun to chat with you." He put his hands on his hips. "I'll warn you, I heard many healers having talk of a theory similar to mine and after so many of us have seen your face, look out." He glanced down at the fae, his eyebrows flicked up.

"If you do try to leave, that is." He bowed gently. "I'm gonna go see if I can do something about the creature that just wiped out a village's worth." He said as he turned on his heels and headed toward the cloth curtain shutting them off from the rest of the area.

Eris simply glared at the Elf, observing his movement as he stood. She didn't like it- he was tall, and it meant he had every vantage point on her. It made her feel small, and she hated it.

"Well, at least one of us is enjoying it." She growled, clenching and then unclenching her fists. She wanted out. Out of this surprisingly nice building, out of this demon infected city, out of the whole of this stupid Elven nation. Then again, gathering information while She was here- it could prove her an extremely valuable asset to the cause when she got back. Maybe catch her a promotion, if she was smart about it. The faster that happened, the faster she got to be who she wanted to be.

This could be an opportunity.

She raised an eyebrow at him for the words, drawing herself out of her thoughts. "I'll keep that in mind." She answered warily, watching him start to exit. She thought about sitting up, then changed her mind, but called after him anyway. "Wait." She gritted her teeth afterward, unhappy with herself for asking something of him. "I can help. I have experience with these kind of things- particularly, the people who summon them." She explained, letting a slight plea eek into her voice- the sound of it made her want to gag, but she stifled it. She could play a desperate convict- seeking any and all chances to dig herself out of a hole. She could do it for a step up.

Kin was reaching out for the cloth when she stopped him, his dirty appendages brushed against it when he dropped his hand to turn back to her. His curiosity was piqued. If anything he thought it would be more like "leave faster" or something less interesting.

He tilted his head at her, silently questioning this sudden switch. His brow raised when she brought out the desperation tone. "Miss, are you-" he paused for a second. "Offering to help find it?" He inquired skeptically. "Out of the goodness of your heart?" His entire sarcastic charade insinuated he had to be calling bullshit.

Possibly wanting to hear it again, however that would be . "Even so, you are in no condition for ..anything right now." He kicked a foot out and crossed his arms, brows furrowed.
