Χρυσή Κυνηγός των Αστεριών, γεννήθηκε από το σπίτι Εκδίκηση Chrysí Kynigós ton Asterión, genníthike apó to spíti Ekdíkisi
Translation from Old Tongue Fae to Common: Golden Huntress of the Stars, Born of the house Revenge
Chosen Name: Eris
Appearance
Eris stands at 5'7", somewhat shorter than a normal fully grown Fae female. Her eyes are a vivid yellow, often compared to gold at night. Her hair is long and silken, falling to the small of her back in a dark, cool indigo color. While infrequent among the population, the color isn't wildly unique- many Fae are born with hair colors uncommon to other species. Her face is similiar to that of typical High Fae- high cheekbones, a slightly upturned nose, but there is more warmth in her eyes, more fullness to her lips. Yet still, she holds all the grace and lethal skill a Fae does- likely, more. Her skin is tanned, to a tone not far above olive. Uncommon in her family line, but not ridiculous. It is flawless and unwrinkled, possessing a shimmery quality- magic or beauty, who knows? The only thing that marks it are a few simple, usually invisible scars. Her upper canines are longer than average, enough so to seem almost fang-like. It can make her seem faintly animalistic at times. Her ears come to sharp, arched points, which she usually adorns with golden jewelry. Her body is lithe and lean, no thanks to the famine, but most of her frame is toned and muscled. Due to some relatively distant human ancestry, unknown by the public, her body curves more than a typical Fae's would. There is a black, inky band that circles her ankle. It is a simple cuff in ink that's almost darker than black- minus the Fae code within it, that shows through to her skin. A bargain mark- one that shows her identity, loyalty, and servitude to the Greenbriar crown, should she fall in battle. Or perhaps worse, need to be tracked by the magical spell. Aside from this dark band, she has a real tattoo- one of an eight sided, compass like star, with an inscription in the Old Tongue surrounding it- it lies on her upper ribcage, almost on her side. If you catch it at the right time, you might see it spark with starlight or move slightly. Special thanks to being a weilder of night- free, sick tattoos. If you can imagine them right.
Personality
Eris, despite the pretty, dazzling exterior, is a warrior through and through. Ruthless, often, and the first call from her Squadron leader for any... unsavory interrogations. It isn't that she enjoys the blood and the gore- It's that it's where shes expected to be. Where she belongs. Anywhere else, she would be marked as a waste for not putting her powers to use for her country. A con of being so powerful, even your family considers you a weapon. Yet still, she manages. Despite the ruthless appearance she puts on for work, she's really not all that much of a rule abiding citizen. She dabbles in any and all sorts of fun she can get her hands, often flirting with anyone- or everyone, really, when she isn't on duty. She loves a laugh, and Despite the slight animalistic quality it gives her when she smiles, she does it anyway. She's far more laid back than most Fae, no superiority complex and perfectly happy to fraternize with those who aren't like her. Yet still, shes stubborn, and does nothing she doesn't want to. Being told what to do riles her like nothing else. If threatened, she won't hesitate to fight- and win.
Other
Eris has always been the Golden Child- Fae children are few and far between, especially pureblooded ones. Ever since her naming ceremony, when she was aligned with the Starsborn, she has been pushed, pushed, pushed. Pushed to be the best. Pushed to reach her limits. Pushed to fight so hard and rise so fast She reaches her potential. Despite coming from an upper middle class family, she has rarely ever been more than an opportunity to rise social ranks for her parents. Not to mention, the discovery of her Shadow-Wielding turned her from a darling child Prodigy to a weapon in the making. Rebel as she might, fight against hierarchies as she would want, immortality keeps her chained in a position she never asked for. Even after two and a half decades, which are moments for most Fae, she has no choice but to sit, and wait, and climb the ranks as quickly as possible.

Kindred just Kindred Appearance Kin can be a rather animalistic creature, yet outwardly you might have trouble choosing him from a crowd save for unusually very short ebony hair, cut close to his head in some curly mess. His skin is well darker than olive, a warm color like sienna. An inch or two above most Elves, he standa around 6'1 and quite looks it. A coltish man. An epitome of the Elven shape, thin, tall and muscular. Having a somewhat triangular shape to his torso, giving him a slightly broader upper body. With sunken, sirenlike, brightly yellowed eyes he can be a bit piercing. Brooding even to fit the mild deadpan expression that his face carries often. Other than when he sleeps, for some odd reason he looks ..not angry when he's asleep. However with an affinity for body paint and a few scars printed into his body, he never really looks clean without a bit of work. It really fits the Wood Elf Soldier aesthetic of a battleworn beast. His own behavior can't be of any help. Lacking in sophisticated mannerisms in many cases. At least he chews with his mouth closed. He wears certain accessories that seem cultural yet often come with uses, like bands of leather wrapped around his wrists but sometimes they change to whatever he feels. Among his scars there is a certain kind, a tribal tattoo that included a little cutting and some dirt among other things. Mainly on his right shoulder that appeared more like hieroglyphics. They have meaning, but it is an obscure language. Personality As mentioned before, he behaves in some ways like an animal too. For many reasons. The biggest one being the interesting gift he received in his heritage. The smallest families can have the biggest secrets. Elves don't typically have magic but it is possible, Much of his family save for a disgruntled older sibling seemed to view him more important for it, he didn't like it and was ridiculed and bullied by his older sister for it. He didn't like that and hardly grew a big head unlike his sister, who really honestly he wasn't sure if she was their father's since she looked nothing like him- -Of course he does enjoy ridiculously bratting around and fighting needlessly when he knows he is wrong for the pleasure of irritating those around. Like a smug bastard. But he has been called worse. Unfortunately the immature nature he possesses is shielded by his sanguine appearance. When he's on duty or sometimes even just hanging out at camp he can look very cold. Frequently found ignoring athority figures but that is besides the point. He often tells many people about his lack of care for much of anything. Unless it comes to kids, then he's very fond of the innocence in young ones that adults cannot possess anymore and he likes to keep it that way as long as be can. Kin is kinda stupid in some ways. He's been in a lot of fistfights over very small things that are extremely unnecessary. He'd have been thrown out of the Eleenl army a while ago if he wasn't such a gold soldier. Other For those wondering what this gift is, what the magic is about. He was born into a family who's ancestors had been given a special ability. One that can change their entire form save for some similarities into a certain beast that fits them in some way or another. It came from his mother's side of the family, most of their animal counterparts lean toward the canine variety, of course it hasn't been for every one but it is true for him. This is gonna be for random Fae Lore I will 100% forget if I don't put down. Naming Ceremony Fae don't get their real, actual, Old Tongue name until they reach a certain age of Maturity. While some species, like humans, hit 'puberty' around their pre-teen and early teen years, Fae reach their First Maturity at this point in their lives. While it differs for every child, the average age is from 9-13. Now, you may be confused- if the child has no name for this first decade or so, what are they called? Typically, parents assign a slightly arbitrary name to the child at birth- usually based on a physical or personality trait. (Eris's was ζωάκι (Zoáki), meaning 'Little Creature'.) Which will often be used to address the child until the Choosing Ceremony- a different thing completely. It is known that a Fae reaches their First Maturity when their ears take their final shape (they are born round and grow more pointed with time), they lose all their infant teeth and have replaced them with the adult set, and usually, when they first show some sort of prowess with minor magic. Usually, it's as simple as a little bit of telepathy- lifting something with the use of their mind, even accidentally. It can be other acts of minor magic, like lighting a candle- a stray wind, even. Anything that involves the child controlling and harnessing their surroundings. This first act does not show any correlation to if they will have a specialized elemental power or not- nor does it show any correlation to what Quadrant they will be aligned with. It is simply the inciting spark of magic within them. If they do not go to the Temple of Aftá Prin, and complete their Naming Ceremony, it often leads to madness in the early decades of life, since they are overwhelmed by the magic surrounding them, yet not able enough to become intolerant or control it. Eris was so intently focused on the woods around her, the soft, almost unnoticeable ripple of magic that caressed her as she stepped from Fae territory and into Elven went by without a second's hesitation. Because before her, as she crept silently into the brush thicket, was a stag. A real deer. Large, with a rack She couldn't count out of excitement. The tip of her arched ear flicked ever so slightly, brushing the side of her braid as she took a small breath, then another two creeping steps. Her vivid eyes were narrowed slightly, zeroed in on the animal before her. Her ears, keen to most everything, were focused only on the soft pawing of the stag, her nose only on the earthy smell of fresh rain and the scent of an animal. Something else wandered past- woodsy, of the forest- but alive. And it was no deer. Smelling of a slight cedar wood- which should have alarmed her, because Cedar usually came from deeper in Elven territory- but no. Rarely did she ever become so intent on a goal she forgot her surroundings. Another silent breath, and she raised her large recurve bow. Back. A breath. Back. A breath. Full draw- a held one. She lined up her aim, confident despite the somewhat dense woods, and loosed her arrow as she exhaled. Bullseye. She vaulted the log in front of her, taking swift steps toward the carcass to make sure it wasn't suffering. But no- an arrow straight to the heart. She murmured a soft thanks to the Patron goddess of Earth, then slung her bow over her back, and removed her arrow. She quickly stooped, elegant even with haste, and moved to swing the carcass over her shoulder.

As of late the buzz of the impending war nearing its start had even superiors on edge. Extra guards to patrol the border between Eleenl and Greenbriar(?). Tonight, for the area within his sight, Kin was somewhere by a corner edge, where Greenbriar wraps around a small peninsula. But that isn't exaclty where the trouble lies, its a little ways down. His elven eyes zeroing in on a woman. He was barefoot and clothed as he wanted to be, dark colors. Though war paint frilled up his arms in light blue and black spots and swirls, same on his face. An abstract mimickry of the dappled moonlight. Surprising campuflage. Kin crept closer, shouldering his waxed red bow. Made of cedar. He was upwind of the slight breeze. An unpolished but sharp blade was picked out of some form of sheath under his pants- which the climate at night called for but at the moement he couldn't feel the chill. The figure shuffled and turned her back toward him. He reached out- yes, sneaky man. And laid a hand on her forehead, pulling her toward his body and pressing the blade against her throat. "Hunting in Eleenl is against the law." He chided the enemy warrior it appeared he had just captured. He sounded fairly rough trying to speak quietly and still professional. Speaking Common. Not his native language, but he'd been speaking it long enough to be fluent.

A soft, instinctual shudder ran down the warrior's spine- a gut feeling, if you will. By the time she was yanked up and pressed back to chest with another body, male and tall, it seemed, she was already cursing herself for the lack of vigilance. Still, she stayed calm, tipping her head back gently to peer up at the elf, calm yellow eyes giving a slow, light blink. One of her ears flicked, a golden ornament adorning her ear glinting in the moonlight. "Letting my squad starve because of rules is against my morals." She answered, her eyes narrowing slightly as she peered up at her opponent. "I know which I'd rather follow." She purred sarcastically, letting shadows curl tendrils around a dagger, whipping it out of it's sheathe- in a moment, the tip was directly against the Elf's spine. "I'll only ask you politely once. Let me go." She ordered, a voice used to being obeyed and followed. Even with a blade to her throat, her head tipped back against a foe's chest- she didn't seem afraid. Maybe a little annoyed- with herself and the interruption, but not fearful. Even if he did, somehow, kill her- it wouldn't be so bad. Edited at July 29, 2024 08:43 PM by Widow Valley Farms

The unmoving fae in his grip was concerningly nonchalant. He didn't falter, his hand steady at her neck. He took a deep breath, exhaling silently as her devotion to her fellow became further apparent. Well hey at least she speaks common. "That's adorable. I asked when?" He retorted unpleasantly, and needlessly making more of a jerk of himself than need be to make his point. "You wouldn't let me go if you caught me, would you?" It stood until she had a pointy object stuck against his back. He shifted forward, away from the firm sting. His jaw tightened and he couldn't bring his eyes back to her. Unfortunately he knew that faes aren't to be trusted if magic is an option, and she really could slip him. Slightly impressed by the flexibility of her arm. "That was dirty." He grunted, pulling his hand off her forehead to mudge her hand away. His heart dropped a bit when he didn't feel anything ..at all. Promptly removing his hand from her neck and shoving her away and taking a couple steps back. Glaring through his brows, his knife out still. Harder to see without the shiny glint. That wasnt her hand The shadows Became solid And held the knife to his back)) Eris gave a wry, slightly amused grin at the comment. "Typically, exchanging unwanted opinions is how conversations work. I don't remember asking you to remind me of common rules, yet that's how you began." She answered lightly, stretching slightly despite still being in his grasp. "Maybe I would, maybe I wouldn't. We may never know." She shrugged sarcastically, chuckling as he stepped into her and away from the blade. Eris gave a light shrug as he backed off, taking a smooth step forward to cover his shrug. "Being dirty is one of my favorite things." She mocked, holding her hand out, palm up. The night-dark shadows, curled in tendrils around the handle of her knife, whipped back toward her and settled the dagger in her grasp. After, they retreated back to their natural places. She span the dagger lightly around her fingers. "You know, that move mightve been more effective if you held me by the waist, instead of the forehead." She offered, turning her back to him in a somewhat blatant insult of "you don't threaten me", and swinging the stag up and over her shoulder. Surprisingly, despite her lithe frame, she carried it with surprising ease.

I fixed it now he a little bit spooked) "Well, under these circumstances I don't think 'hey my names John' is the correct response." Kin growled after they put space between them. He fidgeted with the blade between his fingers. She was uncomfortably comfortable. He watched the darkness place a dagger in her palm. Staring, his eyes wide but it didn't look like fear. It was definitely a crazed glower. Muttering an elven lhrase akin to "buy me dinner first" when she mentioned something he could worrk on- which he didn't expect her to understand, and would hope she couldn't. Just the horrendously childish mocking it sounded like. He almost offered to help her pick the creature up, he shifted his shirt with his shoulders, he was't sure if he could do that. "Don't do it again." He added, louder as she moved away. It wasn't a threat, he said it with intent for it to be a threat but it sounded a little like a suggestion. He huffed, watching her walk away. He should have just shot her or something. He turned a little to walk away- but despite her back being turned, he gave the elven equivalent of fipping the bird before he walked off like an upset toddler.
