Luca smiled down at her, letting her touch his face. She was so gorgeous... he was so screwed...

Laurel sighed softly and removed her hand before leaning her head against his gently, eyes fluttering closed. She wanted so badly to tell him how she felt, but she couldn't. It went against all of their rules, especially as the closeness of their faces tempted the last one.

Luca smiled and hugged her. "Everything okay?"
Laurel smiled softly and hugged him back. "Yes... In this moment, everything is perfectly well."

Luca smiled, and nodded, rubbing her back.

Laurel shifted in his hold after a moment to look him in the eyes. "Luca?.." she murmured, a mix of emotions showing in her eyes. "I just want you to know that I cannot thank you enough for everything you've done. And I don't just mean the money and heavenly spa days or even the blissful nights we've spent together," she told him, biting at her bottom lip for a moment as she paused. "I mean for the comfort and companionship. For the way you've made me feel safe and cared for, because I have not felt that in a long time. I know that we won't ever be anything, but even despite that, I've never been more thankful to have someone like you in my life."

Luca smiled. "Of course, Laur. Anything for you," he murmured softly. That meant a lot to him, it really did.

Laurel smiled, her heart pounding. She felt like there was a chance he felt the same way, but at the same time he was a man of few words so she wasn't sure at the same time.

"Still wanna go visit your dad?"
Laurel nodded slightly. "I do. The nurses said they'd call me if anything happened, but I want to see that he's okay for myself."
