(Oh my gosh lol that's hilarious) . Iris looked over the menu, starting to panic. How should she know what she wanted? There was so much! 'Just choose one!' She told herself, then did just that. She ordered a nut-and-dried-berry-topped salad with a side of potatoes and green beans and handed the phone back to Caden. She hadn't checked the price but hoped it wasn't too high. She didn't want either of them to pay too much for this night, even if it was gorgeous out. |

He took the phone and slipped it back into his pocket, still freezing as the breeze came through again. Caden glanced over at Iris, wondering what brand of jacket she had on since she seemed unbother by the tempature in it. If he learned, he was buying one. A waitress brought out the bottle of champagne and two glasses, Caden thanking her and pouring some into both even though he didn't know if Iris liked the stuff. He raised the glass to his lips, taking a sip and letting the bubbly liquid settle in his stomach, leaving his tounge somewhat prickly. |

Iris gave a slight shiver, just now noticing the cold. She'd been so absorbed in the sunset, the view, and-- though she flushed to admit it-- Caden's company, that she hadn't realized just how chilly it was. She saw him shivering out of the corner of her eye and wondered what she could do. It wasn't like she could give him her jacket-- she only had a T-shirt underneath and would be freezing-- but there had to be something... She got an idea and stood, motioning for Caden to follow. "Here, come over by the wall, there'll be less wind." Plus, they could lean against the wall instead of propping themselves up on the roof. |

"Good idea," He murmured in his low tone, grabbing the bottle and glasses before following her over to the wall and sitting. Iris was right, it was better. Warmer, too---since they were on the side of the ac which blew out the warm air right on them. The chill that had settled in him lifted, leaving him still and somewhat sweating under his sweatshirt. Caden grabbed his glass again, taking another sip. |

She took it and looked at the glass of champagne, then shrugged to herself. She'd had it before, but not recently. Might as well. She took a small sip and the bubbling drink warmed her up a little and gave a good feeling going down her throat. She sighed contentedly and leaned up against the wall next to Caden, waiting for the food to arrive. |

The food eventually did arrive, looking expertly arranged and cooked to near perfection. Caden thanked the waiter, deciding to not send his card yet. The man took a bite, the flavors melting into delisciousness even though he'd had it dozens of times. |

Iris looked up as the waiter delivered the food, feeling a little strange that they were eating on the roof of a restaurant. But Caden did own it, so it wasn't like it was illegal. Just weird. She took her food and took a bite. The salad was so full of flavors, all so perfectly measured and combined that she thought she might be dreaming. How could a salad taste so good? It didn't really matter, she was eating it either way. |

The man eventually finished, setting his fork and knife in the dish before setting it aside. He leaned against the wall, the cool stone sending a jolt up his back. Caden disguised it, pouring some more champagne into his glass and tipping off Iris's. The stars faintly twinkled above him, though he found himself gazing at Iris more often than anything. |

They ate in comforting silence for a while, Iris finishing just after Caden. She set her dishes aside and looked up at the cloudless, star-filled sky. It was rare to see so many in the city, and she savored it. She let out a breath, fogging the air in front of her. It was cold, but they were sheltered from the wind and with Caden so close, they shared each other's warmth. She looked over at him, seeing him gazing back at her. She smiled and looked away, back up at the sky. She'd play hard-to-get for now, but he knew as well as her that she liked him back. |

Caden smirked when she caught his gaze, flicking it back up at the sky. While Iris was drop dead gorgeous and he didn't want to look at the basic ugliness of the modenized city, he did anyway. Very slowly the two drifted closer until their shoulders about brushed, Caden was warm, both from the shelter of the wind, sharing her warmth, or the champagne settled in his stomach---or the contentness of sitting next to a dream. |
