She ate her waffle in record time. "Hey... have you heard any bombs the past few hours?" She spoke softly, her eyes finally showing the fear she had bottled up inside her. She popped the last of her waffle in her mouth

Sage sort of shook his head with a grunt, shoving the last bit of waffle into his mouth and swallowing before answering her question. "Don't think so," he noted. "They've moved south mostly," I think.

Florida gave a quick jerk of her head in a brief nod. "I hope there weren't many fatalities. Well except the ones from the power outage" She winced at the memory. Hey body shifted on the seat, her shoulders rubbing his for a second

Sage sort of hummed with a nod, sighing slightly and moving to toss out their now used paper plates. "war always sucks," he grumbled, then sort of relaxed against her, moving to peck a quick kiss to her cheek and then moving to stand up, since they'd finished eating. "try not to let it get to ya too much," he added with a shrug.

Florida looked down, a small blush forming on her face when he kissed her cheek. As he stood up, she stared down at her hands. "Do you have nightmares where you see every person killed in result of the war?" She asked, a haunted look in her eyes. "B-because... I see the patients... the students... Grace... but I also see my parents and Grace's parents" she sniffled, holding back the tears. "I don't know if any of them made it out alive or not" she finally looked up at Sage

Sage sort of set the dishes down and sighed with a nod in response to her comments. "Yeah," he murmured softly. "normally I'm the one killing them too," he noted after a moment. "Hard not to think of yourself that way after being in the military for so long," he added with a shrug.

Florida had no words, she just stared at her hands. She finally stood and wrapped her arms around Sage. "I'm sorry" she whispered. "Here I am complaining when you have had it so much worse..."

Sage was surprised when she hugged him, though hugged her back with a sort of hum. "ones not any worse than the other," he mused quietly. "We're all allowed to complain," he noted with a sort of shrug.

Florida sighed against his shirt, her eyes closed for a second. She let out a soft breath then pulled back slightly so she could look up at him. "I really am sorry... for everything you've been through, for being mean to you, for everything"

Sage sort of peered down at her when she pulled back, humming softly and moving to brush a strand of hair behind her ear. "I know," he murmured. "I forgive you a long time ago," he added with a sort of sheepish grain and shrug.
