Sage chuckled and grinned over at the girl, enjoying the soft touch as much as he always did. It didn't matter whether they were a couple or friends ...the small touches were still nice. "Maybe I am," he hummed. He hummed slightly at her next comment and nodded. "I feel like a different person," he admitted. "No matter how hard I try, sometimes, I just can't seem to get myself out from behind a wall." Then he looked over at the girl and smiled softly. "But you help, and so does Luther and Att."

Anya nodded quietly to the boy and tried another slightly gentler smile. Not the completely and utterly amused one, but rather the comforting one that she'd never been very good at. "Yeah," she whispered quietly with a bit of a nod. "I know," she finished with a small sigh. "And I know you try to get out from behind that wall... even if it doesn't always work," she hummed quietly. Really, Att helped with everything. When she was down, the boy made her happy, too. "I can imagine the smile you would have had when he learned to walk," she hummed after a moment before cocking her head towards him, "Att, not Luther," she added with a small chuckle.

Sage hummed in agreement and then chuckled when she specified it was Att learning to walk rather than Luther. "I would expect that," he chuckled. "If Luther hadn't learned how to walk yet, there's something wrong," he giggled. "I missed a lot," he sighed after a moment of silence. "But you can bet I'll be there for the boy and see more from now on." He really did feel awful for leaving the boy, but what was he supposed to do? He quite obviously couldn't stay, and if he brought the boy with he was basically bringing him to death right then. He was at war with himself for doing what he did, still, but he knew they'd forgiven him for it. Well, he assumed they had. Att adored him, and Luther was friendly, but he still didn't know.

"Luther's less than smart, you never know," she hummed with a laugh. There was a small smile still across her face at the thought, and when she thought back to Att when he started to get bigger... there'd been so much going on, and she almost wished she'd been with him a bit more, too. She'd seen all of the important bits, but the bits in between were the ones that mattered... and she'd been busy working. It'd only get worse when she eventually had her own children, too... and god, she hated that thought. She smiled softly when Sage said he'd be there for the boy... Att really did love Sage, so it was nice to hear.

Sage chuckled and nodded. "That's not brain power, that's just part of being a human being," he laughed, shaking his head slightly. "I think he'd learn to walk at some point whether he's smart or not," he hummed. Then he grinned slightly and giggled. "Though, it would be funny to see. Would he fall on his butt or face, do you think?" It was an amusing thought, and he quite honestly was very amused by the thought.

Anya rolled her eyes and gave a small laugh when he said walking was just a part of being a human. "Yeah, I dunno. Have you seen the boy? He's more like a bear than anything. I'm surprised he'd not walking around on all fours half the time," she told him with a giggle. She then cocked her head at his question and gave a curious huff. "I think he'd fall backwards. That big old head again," she hummed with a bit of a chuckle.

Sage chuckled and shrugged. "True," he hummed. "Maybe he does when you're not watching, you never know," he giggled. He chuckled at her response to his question, imagining Luther taking a dump. "I suppose the times he's fallen off that old mare of his he's fallen backwards," he mused, eyes sparkling with mischief. It was nice to joke around though. Poor Luther was the butt of all the jokes, but they were all fond of him, so he knew they were playing around of course.

Anya couldn't help her burst of laughter at his Luther jokes. Luther was really just a big kid... and really, the boy didn't mind the jokes all that much. Not from what she could tell, anyway. She felt the cart come to a halt, and then the man noted that this was where he was stopping. She gave a grin and picked up the bag of things before hopping off the back of the cart and offering Sage a hand off the back. She thanked the driver before he turned the cart off down a small alley. "Right," she sighed softly. "Where too now? You've got the map?"

Sage chuckled slightly, content to just lay there in quiet for a few minutes. He glanced over at the man when he stopped and gave him a thankful grin before hopping off next to Anya. He grabbed the map and whacked Anya with it lightly before opening it up. "We're almost halfway there," he hummed. "Well walk through the woods for a bit, towards the east, and will eventually get to another road that leads to the castle. We could stay on this road until it meets but cutting through the forest cuts about seven miles off our route so I vote forest." He folded the map up and glanced at the sky, taking note on what direction was easy before starting to walk, gesturing for the girl to follow as he went.

Anya nodded lightly and went to follow the boy when he gestured to follow along. She didn't mind the woods... it meant that they'd be able to see if there was anyone following them. Really, she didn't feel like they were being followed at all... if they were, they couldn't be all too close, not from what she could tell. "Alright... and you think that we can make it back before it gets dark? I don't think we need to rush, we're not being followed or anything." She glanced up at the sky, and it was starting to go a shade or orange... it'd be a good few hours until it got dark, but she wasn't sure they'd be able to go for too long if it got dark... they'd just end up hurting theirselves, she was sure of it. It'd be safer to stop and get some food, anyway.
