Florida winced. "That sounds horrible..." She shook her head, her eyes wandering around the room. "I'll go get him... James, I mean. I'll bring him in here." She kissed Sage's cheek then walked back to the cafeteria, opening he door and scanning the open area until she spotted him. "I have a room for you." She said quickly as he walked forward, a slight limp to his already unsteady gait.

Sage sort of shrugged in response to her comment. "I'd rather him be dead," he admitted with a sigh, before nodding when she said she'd get her dad. James. His name was James. He suddenly felt the pressure for James to like him....he'd never lived with her but he was still her father. Then he sighed, fixing the bedsheets. What did it matter? She'd grow to like him...he was her father. He just wasn't sure where that would leave him.

She turned and walked down the hall, James right behind her, his footsteps echoing down the empty hallway. Florida swallowed, his presence was terrifying, and the fact that it was a surprise only hightened her terror. What else had her mother lied to her about? What did he do to make her mother lie to her? Was she ever going to meet him under normal circumstances? Florida kept her eyes ahead until she heard Sage shuffling. She stopped outside the door, ushering James inside. He dipped his head in thanks as he walked in. "Thank you" he finally said, looking around the room until he saw Sage. Florida eyed her father then went to stand beside her boyfriend.

Sage nodded in response to the guys comment, offering him a sort of small, alibet tiredly, smile. He was ready to sit down and not get up again for a good long while by then, if he was being totally honest. He wrapped an arm around Florida when she slid over to him, in hopes it would comfort her a bit. "You know where the kitchen is, and bathrooms are around the corner to the left," he noted. "If you need anything else just let me know." Then he chuckled. "Only clothes we have are scrubs or the ones off dead people no one claimed," he added with a shrug before moving to limp out, heading for their own room.

Florida could tell Sage was exausted by the way he walked. She leaned into his arm to offer some support if he needed it. She walked out of the room with him, the normal twinkle in her eyes gone. "Do you need to sit down?" She asked, giving a slight glance to Sage. "Actually that's a stupid question. of course you do" she sighed and fixed her eyes on the door to their room

Sage sort of chuckled in response to her comment, giving her hand a small squeeze. "I just need to rest for a bit," he murmured. He was alright....just hurt and wearing down now that's he'd been on his feet for a bit. So, once they got to their room he plopped down on the bed with a huff of air, just sort of sprawling on his back and laying there.

She walked along side him, letting him go so he could sit down. She stood there for a second before sitting on the bed and curling up beside him, laying her head on his good arm. "What do I do...? I feel like there's something wrong with the entire situation..." she said, her eyes drifting over his face for a second

Sage sort of glanced over at her and sighed. "I don't know," he admitted quietly, wrapping his arm around her. "But he is your father....give him a chance," he murmured. He didn't like it....and he couldn't stand the thought of the man taking her away somewhere. But if that's what she wanted....he'd let her go. He wanted her to be happy.

"Sage... my mother lied to me... she lied to me for years... about 15, actually, because he had, quote, died. But he definitely isn't dead." Florida ran a hand down her face. "I'm so confused... atleast you know what happened to one of your parents..." she shook her head, leaning her cheek against his arm again. She now knew that her father was indeed alive but still didn't know what was happening with her mother or the many men she had over every week. Those men were abusive and she did nothing to stop it. Flo closed her eyes, basking in the heat radiating from his skin. It was comforting, a sure sign that he was still there. That she could count on someone to lean on when something went wrong. She just didn't want the problem to be between her and Sage

Sage sort of sighed and nodded. "I know," he murmured. "Sometimes parents do things because they think it's best," he noted. "Even if it's not. Maybe she thought it would be better that way." Then he frowned. "And we don't know what he did," he sighed. He was worried about that...he could be a criminal, and here they were letting him sleep just barely down the hall from them.
