Somewhere deep in the Tricorner Knob, sat Lady outside of a wood cabin. North Carolina had a great view regardless of the fact that they weren't anywhere near the top. They were close to a town that, he suspected, had been afflicted by a Wendigo. Their cabin was cozy, only had one or two leaks. Nate was sitting on the bed, halfheartedly reading a book. |

Tempe was laying curled up on the bed at his side, occasionally sitting up to glance at what he was reading in boredom. Otherwise, she stared at the ceiling or attempted to take an angel's version of a nap, making sure to be mocking at any chance. After a while, she got bored of just sitting doing nothing, and huffed at him. "Nate, you're not even paying attention to that book. I'm bored. I wanna talk to you instead of watch you reread the same page four times in a row." She muttered, poking him in the side. |

Nate looked up at her, doing a slight double take. "I have not been-" he looked at his watch. "Hush, reading up on the supernatural is not as easy as you think." Heglanced over the page and shut the book, dropping it on his bag. "Fine. What do you want to do?" He sat up straighter, glaring over at her. |

Tempe rolled her eyes. "Isn't it just reading? Doesn't sound that hard." She sais sarcastically, brightening when he brought his attention to her. She sat up and offered him a smile in return to his glare. "Thaaank you. I dunno, we can play concentration or something-" She started, huffing when a knock on the door cut her off. She gave the door a flat look and then him, frowning like someone had taken her toy away. |

"Books arent that bad." He gave her a look as if it was common knowledge that reading is awesome. Just ..hard sometimes. He looked up, turning to the door. "Looks like concentration will have to wait." He said quietly, grabbing his pistol from the table as he made his way to the door. He held up behind the door as he cracked it open, then all the way because there was a half crying young woman on the other side. He glanced back at Tempe. "Are you alright?" He asked the girl quietly. |

"I never said they were. I love reading, when it doesn't involve me being bored because of it." Tempe huffed, sliding off the bed and following him. "Unfortunately, it appears that way." She nodded faintly, glancing over his shoulder at the scene outside. She moved to stand behind him as he opened the door wide, fully aware that she was supposed to be invisible to the girl. Yet, she was sure she saw the girl's eyes dart to her face through the tears. She narrowed her eyes slightly and glanced at Nate. This felt... incorrect. |

Nate tilted his head at the girl, she came out with a soft, tearful voice. DG "I- I need help, my dad," she stuttered, he hardly noticed anything awry, a bit blinded by the tears. "It's alright, come in." He let her in, shutting the door. He'd tucked the pistol in his belt where she wouldn't see. The sun hit something in her palm, Nate didn't see the flash as he shut the door. #oblivious)) |

Tempe leaned back against the hallway wall, flaring her wings slightly and narrowing her eyes. She watched the girl enter, looking confused at the peculiar, golden flash of the blade that was obviously in her hand. She brought her gaze up to Nate, huffing and tugging gently at his sleeve. "She's not human." She said bluntly, glaring at the back of the woman's head in a bitter way. ((...Trixie, that you? Homewrecker?)) |
