The girl chuckled at the boy but shook her head. "I'm pretty sure you know how to make them now," she hummed with a small laugh before turning her head to look at him with a grin. "But I'll bake for you any time," she murmured lightly before forcing herself up. She took the plates from the two men before putting them on the tray and slowly wheeling the trolly out... she knew the doctor had said not to bother washing up... but it was her job, and she'd kind of gotten into a routine of washing up in the evenings. So, she started to fill the basin with hot soapy water and slowly started scrubbing away at the dishes with a bit of a yawn.

Sage chuckled and nodded, rolling his eyes slightly. But, he wanted to go help the girl, so he got up after a moment, waving bye to the doctor before slipping into the kitchen and starting drying the dishes the girl set to the side. He'd helped make the mess, so he wanted to help clean. It just seemed right in this instance. Besides, it felt wrong to sleep while she cleaned up both their messes, plus everyone else's too. He wanted to help, and he could sleep in the next morning if he needed to, so it was fine. Edited at February 2, 2023 01:16 PM by NightClan

Mari looked to the boy with a weary type of smile when helped to dry up... he didn't need to but it would help things get done quicker... and she wasn't going to refuse the boy if he wanted to help out. "Thanks," she hummed as she finished off washing and went to put the stuff he'd dried off away. Soon enough, though, they'd finished off and she sat back with a bit of a sigh. "I'm gonna head off to bed..." she murmured as she stifled a yawn. "Thank you again for helping out... and like I said, come fine me if you need me, okay?" She asked with a cocked head.

Sage nodded and gave the girl a weary grin. "I helped make the mess, id be an awful person if I didn't help," he chuckled. He nodded again when the girl said he could come find him, and gave her a thankful look before sliding out of the kitchen quietly and padding back to his room with a sigh. It was late, and he was exhausted, but he'd also had a good day, and he felt better than he had in a long time. He flopped onto his bed with a huff of air, curling up and falling asleep right away.

The girl watched him slip off before tidying a few more bits and pieces up then forced herself to wander down to the maids quarters... it wasn't a nice place, but it wasn't bad, either. She had a bed and a blanket, along with a few other things she'd put there to make it a bit more... homely. She quickly got showered in the little pump shower the maids shared, then waddled back to her room to get changed and then went to bed... she was exhausted, but she'd also had a good day... she rather liked the boy, despite the doctors warning that he might be stubborn... but it was nice to have someone to talk to while the castle was so empty. As soon as her head hit the pillow, the girl went off to a pretty deep sleep, not likely to wake up until later the next day. Edited at February 2, 2023 02:12 PM by Belle

Sage fell asleep quickly, though he felt a bit uneasy for some reason. It didn't really matter, he was probably just tired. Either way, he wondered what that was all about before he slipped off to sleep. He woke up a few hours later from a nightmare, and got up with a sigh. He was shaky, but he figured walking for a while might help. He was beginning to calm down a bit when he felt a hand clamp down on his arm, which resulted in a yelp and immediate thrashing about from sage. It was rather loud, though when he turned and saw his father's face he went silent. Of course when he got hit over the head and shoved into the wall, that was loud too, even though his father hissed at him to be quiet. He was, quite honestly, starting to panic.

Mari slept through most of the night fairly peacefully... well, she woke up to a small ruckus, but she soon fell back to sleep. The next morning, though, when she woke up, she had a rather... sinking feeling in her stomach. She wasn't sure what it was, but she woke up and made herself some breakfast before getting dressed and making her way towards the kitchen. She made up some eggy bread for everyone in the ward before wheeling over to the doctor's office and handing him a plate, then did the same for everyone in the ward. She wandered into Sage's little room with a grin, only to find that he just wasn't there. She huffed and wandered out to the barns, then found out that the horses hadn't been seen and that the boy wasn't there. She was admittedly a little confused about where he was, so she made her way back towards the doctor. "Have you seen Sage? I can't find him and he needs his meds sooner or later," she murmured with a huff.

The doctor looked up when the girl came into the room and frowned slightly, putting his own down and shaking his head. "Last I saw him, he was asleep last night in his room. Did you check the stables and gardens?" He should have been around somewhere, and he would have told him if he had gone somewhere outside the castle grounds, so the doctor couldn't help but be a bit concerned. Sage himself was just as concerned about the girl and doctor, as well as the horses, who he knew should need food and water. But, he couldn't do much about either thing, since he was currently...somewhere. he wasn't sure where, his father had knocked him out at some point, and his head hurt so he really just wanted to sleep. Though, he couldn't do that, because his claustrophobia was acting up, and well...his father had just kidnapped him. Er...adult napped him? Whatever had happened, he was locked in what was like a large box lying horizontal. He was currently on his back, and he couldn't even fully extend his arms in any direction. But he couldn't get out either ...the top of the box wasn't moving, and he was chained to the floor by some type of collar, which was a bit annoying. But, he supposed it went with his father's view of him. Whatever ...he had to get out. But he was almost too afraid of getting out. What if he got caught? It would be far worse than this, for sure. Right?

Mari nodded in response to the man... she knew Sage wasn't one to be up and around early in the morning, but recently he'd been looking after the horses, and, well, she was very concerned about him. "No.. no, I haven't seen him. I've been out to the gardens, and the yard, and he wasn't in the kitchens," she murmured, biting her lip slightly. "Is it like him to leave or anything? I know he goes off to the barns, but that's not the same as just walking out or anything," she murmured with a bit of a sigh. In truth, she still wasn't overly sure what the boy was like... she just didn't want anything bad happening to him. If he got a bit panicky and blind-sighted, then that could be a cause for concern... but the doctor should know where he was, right? He seemed to know the boy better than anyone else.

The doctor shook his head, the knot in his chest tightening. "He wouldn't be anywhere you couldn't find him without telling me. Even if he did freak out and run, he'd go somewhere he felt safe, which would be in here or the barn," he hummed. He got up from his desk with a sigh and waved the girl on. "Why don't we take a look around again before we get too worried, hmm," he suggested. He wanted to look around, and see if anything was amiss, or that would clue him in as to where the boy had gone.
