She smiled, looking over at him. "I don't think it came out wrong at all. I promise you, I am not almighty, most of the things I do aren't great, and I cant help everyone. I feel the same way as you, sometimes. Its so much harder to keep pushing on after death. I mean, am I even dead? I don't know." She sighed, running her fingers along the feathers of her wings.

-Well that's another first- Ajax mused in his mind before actually trying to pay attention to the words that came out of Mercy's mouth. "It can be hard sometimes, but at least others don't take one look at you and think terrifying demon." Ajax offered unhelpfully. He was rather good at that.

"I don't think you're terrifying." She said softly, tilting her head up at him. "I think you're just... misunderstood. I mean, as cliche as that sounds, I believe it." She smiled. "I don't know. It almost feels like a burden sometimes. I mean, I was given this responsibility, but I had no choice. I assume you were the same. It just... it isn't very fair, is it?"

-Aaand that's another new one. Get used to it- Ajax thought, trying to get his wandering mind to focus on Mercy's words. "I guess so. I definetely see how helping people can be a burden sometimes.. cough cough... but no, it's not really fair." He mused quietly, then stiffened as he heard a familiar voice.

"Well what do we have here?" A sickening sneer came out of the dark behind Ajax. A second later a man stepped into the light. He had very dark skin, giant pitch black wings, glowing red eyes, two blacck horns, and literal claws instead of fingernails. "Did Bulldog find a little girl to play with?"

Ajax's expression plummeted like the Edmund Fiztgerald in a storm. He slowly stood, glancing at Mercy before looking back at the new demon. "Hangman, how horrible it is to see you again." Ajax said drily, his eyes hardening.

Hangman circled the two slowly, a smile on his face that showed off sharp fangs. "It is horrible to see you again too, Bulldog, especially under these circumstances. Who's this?" Hangman purred in a slimy disgusting tone

Ajax made a very quick choice to have some fun. He, somehow, got a song to start playing.... Great Balls of Fire from Top Gun. Ajax then offered the demon a grin, and at this point Hangman looked very confused. As the chorus heightened into the cherful singing of *Goodness gracious great balls of fire!* Ajax launched himself at Hangman and bowled him over backwards. Keeping in time to the music he grabbed the demon's wing and snapped it around... it didn't break, but it did send Hangman flying to the side into a tree. "Goodness gracious great balls of fire." Ajax crowed to Hangman as the demon staggered back up.

Hangman was so confused. A random song started playing, it was way too joyful and he hated the beat, and before he knew it he was on the ground near a tree. "What the heck..." he mumbled, staggering back up and casting a bewildered look at Bulldog. Since he had no idea what to do, he launched himself into the night and flew off as the song ended.

Mercy looked up at the new arrival, narrowing her eyes at the 'little girl' comment. "This 'little girl' could send you right back where you came from, so tread carefully." She snarled, flaring her wings in a hostile way. She didn't stand, as she wasn't threatened, and she wasn't going to act like it either. She looked from Hangman to Ajax and back again, her light blue eyes twinkling. "This can be your worst nightmare or simply an acquaintance. Your choice." She said coolly, raising her eyebrows at the circling demon. She looked at Ajax as the song started playing, a smile lilting her lips. "From Top Gun? I love that movie." She chuckled, watching his little performance. She applauded him quietly as the other demon flew off. "Well. That was quite a show."

Ajax couldn't help but laugh as the demon flew away. "That was Hangman, one of the topmost demons. His actual name is Grugar. I have found that the best way to annoy and confuse a demon is music... upbeat music." He mused, watching the shadow disappear before turning back to Mercy. "Now you see what my job is like, every day." Ajax commented, leaning against the tree with a sigh. The song had died down and now it was silent again, except for Mercy's voice. "It was quite a show, and yes, Top Gun. It is a great movie." he responded, glancing around. Stupid demons. Usually Ajax would have taunted and annoyed much more, to the point where Hangman would have been smashing himself into trees... but he wasn't going to do that in front of Mercy. Yes, his personality did fit being a demon a little. Yes, he would probably be a terrible angel.

"Sounds terrible." She huffed, standing up and folding her wings again. "Well, since I've seen what you have to do everyday, why don't you cone along with me and I'll show you what my day entails?" She offered happily.

Ajax couldn't help but snort, flicking his wings a little and raising his black eyebrows at Mercy's suggestion. "What could I lose." He mumbled under his breath, giving a slight nod and standing up straight instead of leaning against the tree. "Let's do that, then." he agreed aloud with a slight smile

"Great." She smiled, grabbing his hand and launching easily into the sky, her wings taking her higher. She guided him on and into New York City, the night sky hiding them from plain view. She dove quickly into a dark alleyway, flaring her wings as they dissapeared. "Well. Are you ready?" She asked, flicking her hair over her shoulder.

Ajax was a little concerned about the whole hand-grabbing thing but he decided to ignore it. Thankfully she let go once they got into the air, or it would have been hard to fly without his arm getting ripped out. He gave a couple powerful beats with his wings, but mostly soared. It was easier that way, since in a couple places his wings were a little... ripped. "You should be asking yourself that question." Ajax half teased, mostly because he expected the worst and it usually wasn't the worst. As he went into the shadows, he just about disappeared. A quality of demons;... they almost go invisible when in the shadows. The only thing that stood out were the couple silver streaks in his wings, and those looked like tiny streaks of light.
