Malakai Negri - Malakai dipped his head to her respectfully. He listened as she asked him to go into town with her, even though wherever she went, he had to go. Although something about this seemed more, casual, possibly... intimate? Malakai wasn't sure how to explain it. Like... a date? And he found himself wanting to go. "Wherever you want, Princess," he replied with just a hint of emotion to his words, which he normally didn't add in.

Camery Valatieri - Camery felt a spark of energy in her chest as his voice shifted, the faintest hint of emotion seeping into his words. She couldn’t help the smile that tugged at her lips, the brightness in her eyes matching the morning sun that was just beginning to spill its light over the world outside. Her skin seemed to shimmer softly as the final traces of her golden markings settled across her skin, the early light catching them in a way that almost made them glow. The quiet, almost imperceptible shift in his tone didn’t go unnoticed by her—there was a softness, a willingness she hadn’t expected, and it filled her with a quiet sense of hope. She tilted her head slightly, her gaze lingering on him as she hummed lightly in response. "Yeah?" she asked, her voice playful yet curious, the words carrying a weight that only deepened her genuine interest. She moved to grab the brush from her side table, her movements fluid and natural, as if every action she took was touched by some quiet grace. She ran the brush through her hair with ease, her gaze flicking up to meet her reflection in the mirror. The soft glow of her markings mirrored the growing light outside, tracing the curves of her body like an intricate work of art. Her voice was soft, but the words held a sense of purpose, a quiet invitation. "I was thinking we could grab lunch or something," she said, her tone thoughtful. "Something easy, you know? Gives me a chance to enjoy a lazy morning too." She paused for a moment, a small grin tugging at the corners of her lips. "Or... we could take a picnic and sit by the lake," she added with a playful gleam in her eyes. The suggestion hung in the air, light and free, an escape from the confines of the castle for a few peaceful hours. She dropped the brush from her hand, turning her attention back to him fully, her gaze steady but warm. There was a lightness in the air now, a quiet but growing sense of ease between them. "I’m getting awfully bored in here, Malakai," she confessed with a small laugh, her voice still laced with that playful edge. It was the simple things she wanted—something real, something that made her feel like she could just be Camery, not the princess or the future queen. Just for a while.

Malakai nodded "Of course, Princess," he agreed, no shift in his voice this time, keeping the same amount of emotion to it, although not yet smiling. He never was a smiley person. Malakai watched her as she moved around, a carefully sculpted, delicate work of art. The morning sun made her practically glow, and if Malakai didn't have his emotions in check he would've been drooling over her. But he did, so he was just watching intently. "Whatever you would like, m'lady," he replied to her suggestions. "Well then, would you like to go now?"

The woman gave him a soft smile, nodding as she spoke. "Yeah, we can go now," she said, her voice light and inviting. "Would you prefer to go out for lunch, or would you rather we pack a picnic?" She asked, leaving the decision up to him. She could have easily made up her mind, but something about this moment felt different. She didn’t want him to feel like he was just following her around, having no say in the plans. After all, he’d mentioned he didn’t do much outside of work, and she could only imagine how boring it might be for him to simply play along with whatever she wanted all the time. She stood and moved to pick out an outfit, a small hum escaping her lips as she moved with a sense of purpose. Behind the screen, she changed into something comfortable, but there was a restlessness within her, a subtle agitation that bubbled up. "Also," she called out to him playfully, her voice carrying across the room, "my name is Camery, not Princess." She couldn’t help but chuckle to herself. The title felt so distant, even if it was part of who she was. It was always the same: people saw her as a royal first and a person second. She stepped out from behind the screen and found him waiting, her figure now draped in a soft pale green dress that hugged her body gently, not too tight but not too loose. The fabric flowed elegantly as she moved, a contrast to her playful tone. "It would be a bit weird if I started calling you Bodyguard, wouldn't it?" she mused with a light grin, her eyes teasing but soft.

Malakai listened and watched her, his body relaxing a bit. "Whatever you want, I don't mind," he insisted. He really didn't mind what they did, so long as it was with her. He listened to her again, watching as she exited from behind the screen. Malakai took in her looks, her dress, her body, her hair, her golden skin. "Well, if you insist on me calling you Camery, rather than Princess, I must insist you call me just Kai,"

Camery raised a brow at him, a playful smile tugging at her lips as he insisted that she decide what they were doing. It was a bit amusing, really. "You don’t seem to mind much, do you?" she asked lightly, her eyes twinkling as she glanced up at him, the playful grin on her face betraying the amusement she felt. There was something effortlessly calm about him that made her curious. He never seemed to have a strong opinion either way, which made her wonder how he could be so at ease with whatever came his way. Without waiting for much more of a reply, Camery disappeared into the closet, only to emerge moments later with an older picnic basket in her arms. It looked well-loved, a little worn around the edges, but that only added to its charm. "Well then," she chirped, her voice bright, "we’ll go for a wander, and then have a picnic. Sound good?" She asked, stepping closer to him, her excitement growing. It would be a simple outing—no grand plans, no expectations—just a quiet afternoon. As she approached him, her eyes sparkled with the joy of the plan, and she passed the basket into his hands, her fingers brushing lightly against his skin. "Alright then, Kai. You take this," she said with a grin, tapping his chest lightly as she looked up at him, her gaze lingering. She couldn't help but notice how his shirt fit just right, hugging his muscles in a way that was hard to ignore. His dark blue eyes, so intense and steady, seemed to pull her in, and she caught herself admiring him for a moment longer than she meant to. She quickly blinked, amused by the thought before she rolled her eyes and turned away. "Come on, then," she said, her voice light and teasing, as she headed toward the kitchens to pack the basket with food. She didn't know what it was about him—maybe it was the calm demeanor, or the way he seemed so effortless in everything he did—but there was something about him that she found just so intriguing.

Malakai listened, watched and nodded in agreement. Although when she gave him the basket, and came very close to him. He stopped breathing, just looking down at her. His demeanor changed drastically. His eyes softened and lips parted just a tiny bit. Malakai just looked at her, unable to look away. But when she turned away again, he let out a breath he didn't know he was holding in. He squared his shoulders, jaw set, his cold mask going back on, but on the inside his mind was reeling. What had just happened?

The woman smiled brightly as she made her way toward the kitchen, her steps light and carefree, a soft, cheerful tune humming from her lips. It was quiet, but there was a certain happiness in it, an ease in the air that made everything feel a little brighter. As she walked, she briefly noticed the subtle shift in his demeanor, but she thought little of it. Camery was naturally outgoing, and she found it easy to feel comfortable around others. Perhaps she’d crossed a line, though—maybe she had gotten too close for his comfort. She didn’t mean to, of course, but she reminded herself to be more aware, to keep her touch more reserved unless absolutely necessary for safety. It was just something to keep in mind for the future. Once in the kitchen, she immediately set to work, rummaging through the cabinets with a bright smile, gathering ingredients for their picnic. The familiar bustle of the kitchen felt like home, and the cook, with a knowing glance, agreed to pack a few things for them. The exchange was quick, and soon enough, they were headed outside the castle walls, Camery’s grin stretching across her face. The fresh air outside was invigorating, and as they wandered along, the sense of freedom and lightheartedness filled her with a quiet joy. She didn’t care about much else at that moment—just the pleasure of good company and the simple happiness of a spontaneous outing.

Malakai followed her in silence, carrying the basket and thinking about what happened in that little 30 second moment they had earlier. It was hard to believe something like this could happen so quickly and yet, something had changed. Something had shifted and now, he didn't know what to do. So he just mindlessly followed her around.

The woman bounced along happily, her energy infectious as they made their way into the village. She turned to him after a moment, her eyes sparkling with a playful curiosity. "Anything you need while we're out?" she asked lightly, her tone casual but with an undertone of consideration. The sun caught her hair, sending soft waves of golden light around her, and her skin seemed to glow in the warmth of the day. She was the very picture of sunlight, as if she herself had been born from the morning sky. If the day had a face, it would be hers—radiant and effortlessly alive. It was a common trait among the people of their kingdom, though Camery's golden markings set her apart, the sun’s beams shining across her skin in brilliant, almost mesmerizing patterns. She knew how they drew attention when she walked through the streets, and her bodyguard—Malakai—would have to be extra alert. When he shook his head no, she simply shrugged, unfazed, and wandered through the market, picking up a few things that caught her eye. She weaved through the bustling crowd, her movements light, a soft smile never leaving her lips. However, after a while, she noticed his stance wasn’t as firm as it once had been, a bit more relaxed than she was used to. Rolling her eyes in amused exasperation, she turned on her heel and made her way toward the lake, the bag from the market swinging at her side. “You hungry?” she asked with a bright grin, her voice full of cheer as she flopped down on the grass beside the water. The lake shimmered before them, reflecting the sunlight in dazzling flashes. “I had the cook put all sorts of things in here… there should be something you'd like,” she chirped, unwrapping the contents of the bag with a lightheartedness that was unmistakably her own.
