Mari nodded in a type of understanding and went back towards the suasages and started to dish them up. "It's okay. I don't like storms either," she hummed lightly. She knew for him that it wasn't just the storm, though... it was the unwanted memories that came with them, and that was the scary bit for sure. And it would just get louder outside... by now the wind had started to bash against the windows, which almost seemed to shake the old castle. "I'm almost done here, so we can walk back together. I can protect you from the big bad storm," she was speeding up a little now, a little nervous about this herself... Sage would feel better in the ward, where his little room provided some form of comfort to him... she could have him eat and then he could get himself to sleep, and hopefully he'd sleep through the worst of the storm. She wasn't sure the doctor would give him much for it, though... so she could sit with him for a little while and make sure he was alright.

Sage chuckled slightly, though it was more of a dry chuckle than anything. At least the girl was trying to understand, and sort of trying to comfort him in a way she knew how. He nodded and focused on watching the girl bustled about finishing up meals and then gave the girl a thankful (and very tired) grin. He was definitely jumpy by then, and even the rattle of the wind was sending his heart leaping out of his chest. He was definitely very happy when she had finished up and they were back in his little room. He sort of just crawled up into his bed and curled up in a very tight ball, trembling slightly and flinching whenever heard thunder or wind, or really anything at all, no matter how hard he tried to calm down. It sucked, and he didn't like it, but there wasn't much he could do about it. The girl helped though....she really did.

The girl got food around the ward pretty quickly, though she did spend a bit of time with each patient just letting them know they'd be alright... that the storm couldn't hurt them if they blocked it out. Soon enough she'd gotten back to Sage, and was sitting at his side, trying to say something that would calm him down a little. His jumping and flinching was making her a little bit antsy, but she was still trying to keep calm for him. The last thing he needed was for someone to be freaking out around him, not when he was already having a hard time staying cool. She tucked the duvet around him tightly, so that he felt a bit more secure, and she then went to run her fingers up and down his back in a kind of soothing way. She just wanted him to feel safe so that he could get to sleep... she wanted to get to sleep, too, and drown out the awful noise of hardening rain and sleet and the wind that banged on the windows... but she could wait a little while longer.

Sage barely noticed when the girl came back into his room, though he opened his eyes slightly to look over at who was tucking him in before closing it again. It could have been either the girl or the doctor, and his curiosity got the better of him. But the girl was great, and he definitely calmed down a bit when she came in, and then he did feel more secure in the blanket. He sort of just lay there low-key panicking for a while until his body decided it was too tired to go in so he fell asleep. The doctor came in later, making his rounds, and checked in on the two of them quietly, so as not to wake him.

Mari stopped rubbing his back once his breathing steadied and he went to a gentle sleep. She looked over to the doctor and gave a type of weary smile when he came in. "He's doing alright, I think," she whispered as she stood up and made her way towards the bed she'd dragged in the day before. "He doesn't like the sound of thunder, but who does," she added lightly as she sat crossed-legged on the other bed... he was asleep now, so she could try and get some sort of rest once the doctor left... if Sage needed her, then he'd do what he'd done the day before and either wake her up or just make himself comfortable near her if it helped.

The doctor pursed his lips and nodded with a sigh. "It's not just thunder...any loud or sudden noise will set the boy off," he hummed, reaching over to make sure the blanket was wrapped tightly around his shoulders. "A pen fell off the desk the other day and he nearly jumped out of his skin." He shook his head slightly and set a few pills down on the bedside table. "If he gets much worse, just knock him out with the lighter pill. The darker one is for pain. He'll be wanting that when he wakes up," he murmured before sliding out of the room. "You should try and rest too."

The girl nodded lightly and looked over at the pills before huffing and flopping back against her pillow. "I'll make sure he's alright," she murmured lightly as a promise before waving the man off, "Goodnight." She was so tired... and trying not to let herself jump out of her own skin was a bit of an effort. She curled up under the covers and closed her eyes, eventually trying to drown out all of the sounds from the storm, along with the flashes of light that shone through the curtains. Soon enough, she managed to get herself to sleep... albeit a light and unsettled one.

Sage pretty much slept through most of the storm, thankfully, and when he woke up it was still damp and rainy but no longer quite so loud. He shifted slightly and groaned in pain, and upon noticing the medication on the side table he reached for them blearily, swallowing them before laying back down and going back to sleep. He supposed it wouldn't matter what the second pill was, since he was sleeping while it took effect. And if it was a sleep pill, then he'd just sleep deeper, which he needed anyway. It was about the time the sun rose at that point in time, so he could stand to sleep for another couple hours or more. It was raining so he supposed it was a good day to sleep in. They'd have to pretty much stay inside for now, at least.

Mari had to admit it was about midday when she next woke up. But, well, what was she going to do? For the time being it was her job to look after Sage, and if he was asleep then she had no reason to worry, not really. She was still a bit jumpy from the rain, but she didn't really let it bother her... it was still blowing a gale, and it almost seemed to be windier than it'd been the day before, but it wasn't raining quite so hard. She murmured a sleepy good morning to Sage, though didn't move to crawl out of bed... if they had to be up, then the doctor would have woken her up already.

Sage blearily grunted in response to the girl's comment, still half asleep and not really wanting to move. He had plenty of time to lay around, and it was just that sort of day with the rain and all that. Besides, he still had what he assumed to be sleeping pills in him, so he wasn't up for doing much. That, admittedly, was probably the reason the wind banging wasn't freaking him out so much. He lay around for a bit before deciding to bring his blankets with him and crawl over to the girl, flopping over so their backs were touching. The girl wasn't a fan of storms, he knew that, and she was warm, so he could curl up next to her and lay around for a while. It didn't seem like she was waking up fully any time soon, either.
