Mari chuckled lightly to him and gave a bit of a nod. She wasn't at all sure that she believed it, because he had an actual bed, and hers was just a wheeler bed. But she wasn't going to complain... there was probably something she needed to do. But she was happy, so she didn't make a move to get up. Unless the doctor had an emergency, she wasn't going to budge. Well, she was planning on going home that evening... she wasn't sure if Sage would want to come or wait until the next night. She didn't care. They'd figure it out later.

Sage hummed lightly at that, though he was more than content to just lay there for a while. It was certainly nice to do this. It was always so rushed when he was with Anya...it was always we need to go soon or we should get going. It wasn't like that now. No, they could just lay here. He knew the girl had to run home at some point, though it was still storming, so she wasn't likely to go out anytime soon. The storm would probably be gone soon, but she could wait, and he could get his letter sent out later too. But he wasn't likely to be moving any time soon.

Mari laid quietly for a little while longer, really just happy for the peace... she'd always been working, so she didn't think there'd ever been a day where she could just be lazy. Not like this, at least. But she wasn't going to refuse it... she was so comfortable, and warm, and the idea of moving made her bones ache. She slipped in and out of sleep over the next half hour, but soon enough she found herself a little bit fidgety... she still didn't want to get up. The storm was still going outside, but it sounded like the rain was coming to a stop... which was good, but the windows were still making the windows bang. The bed, the covers, they were kind of a comfort, like they'd protect her from the wind even if it wasn't in the castle. It was a childish notion, really. After a couple of minutes of just fidgeting gave Sage a bit of a squeeze before tickling his ribs in a kind of playful manner... she was bored, for sure, and her book was just out of reach, so Sage would have to deal with her taking her boredom out on him.

Sage noticed the girl start to fidget, though he didn't really take any of it in. He was content to lay around, and hide in a little ball until the world either ended or calmed down. He squeaked when the girl started to tickle him, wriggling around slightly with a giggle. "no," he whined, though if course he didn't really mind. "No tickling!" It reminded him of Anya a bit, except the other girl did it just to see him squirm half the time. Nothing was wrong with that, but Mari had no idea he was ticklish. And apparently, it was impossible to keep that secret, with all the girls he knew finding that out sooner or kater. Oh, well ...it wasn't like he particularly minded.

Mari couldn't help her amused little giggle when he started to wriggle about. She went to poke him in the side again with a silly little grin across her face. She hadn't expected him to be ticklish, but it was definitely amusing that he was. Her boredom had definitely gotten the best of her. She gave a bit of a pout when he told her no tickling and sat up a little so that she had the arm that she had wrapped around his side propping her up. "But that's not fair," she complained with a bit of a laugh as she poked his side yet again, but not in a tickling way... more in a teasing way. She then flopped back down onto her back, staring up at the ceiling with a light smile across her face. Edited at February 7, 2023 12:51 PM by Belle

Sage let out another giggle when the girl poked him again, wriggling about a little bit more. He turned to look up at the girl when she sat up, since he'd arm was still kind of around his waist, only now she was using it to hold herself up. "That's very fair," he giggled as she flipped back down. "I can't run away from you with it raining. I've got no where to go," he joked lightly, tilting his head to look over at the girl, a grin on his face. It was nice to wake up slowly like this, with all the time in the world.

Mari scoffed and stuck her tongue out at him with a bit of a giggle. "That's a poor excuse," she huffed with a childish-looking pout. She rolled her head onto the side to look at him and wrinkled her nose with a smile. She really was happy, though... she was comfortable, and she really was happy to see a smile on Sage's face for once. He was always so... gloomy. Even if they were messing around, it must have been refreshing to laugh a little bit. It certainly was for her, and she was always smiley. "You could run fast enough," she chuckled lightly with a slight shake of the head.

Sage snorted out a laugh and nodded. "Yeah, until my lungs decide to malfunction," he hummed good naturedly. "But I suppose either way you wouldn't be tickling me anymore," he joked lightly. He grinned back at the girl, more than happy to be laying around with her. She was a lot like Anya, but she was a lot different too. The thing was, none of the things that he found to be different were bad. In fact, she seemed to just be really, really good. Not that Anya wasn't good either, of course...both girls were amazing. But he found he could relate to Mari in a way he never could to Anya. They were by no means similar, he and Mari, but there was much more there than between him and Anya.

The girl shook her head to him and gave a soft smile as she rolled onto her side again. "Noo, we wouldn't want that. The doctor would kill me. He'd have me die on your grave," she chuckled lightly and gently patted his chest in a playful manner. "Gotta keep those lungs going," she hummed with a bit of a chuckle. "I need a job, and at the moment you're my job," she mused gently before huffing a bit of a breath and flopping onto her back again. Well, it was that and she rather liked the boy... she had friends, but not many she saw a lot, so although she'd only met a week or so back, she felt like she'd known him for a long while now.

Sage chuckled slightly and grinned up at the girl, a light blush running across his face when she patted his chest. "The doctor might have a heart attack and die. Now what would he do without me," he joked. "Eat dinner in peace," he heard the old man's grumble from the doorway as he walked past, and he yelped even though the man was already gone. He snickered then, the old man's dryness rather amusing.
