Mari jumped a little at the doctor's dry little remark. She then proceeded to giggle childishly. "Yeah, he might be able to actually sleep without you here," she chuckles, "and eat... and, I dunno, live," she hummed teasingly before rolling onto her back. The doctor was probably a little bit relieved to have her around... it meant he had some time to himself. She had to admit she was feeling a little bit guilty about leaving him alone... but as Sage had said, the man had done it before she'd shown up. She just made it a little bit easier. Now that she'd thought about it, she was starving... she didn't normally have breakfast, but it was nearing lunch now.

Sage snorted at the girl's comment, and then shook his head in amusement. "Oh, please, the man had no life before he found me. It was all work and no fun," he protested, though he did so quite happily, his usual crooked grin on his face. Well, maybe the fake smile was more usual now...but his real smile looked like this. Liz had been the only one who could tell the difference between the two, so he'd had to figure out the best way to copy his real one...he hated for the girl to be worried about him. But he supposed that was all over, with Liz being gone and all. But he shoved the thoughts away...they were a bit too depressing for the moment.

The girl scoffed at him and rolled her eyes. "I'm sure if it wasn't for you then he would have fewer grey hairs," she giggled as she looked over at him, a bright smile across her face as she looked the smile on his face over. It suited him... that smile of his. "You have such a nice smile," she noted brightly as she sat up a little and leaned against the headboard. "You're gonna have to smile for me more," she teased before pulling the covers up a little. She looked up at the curtain. "I'm starving," she complained with a bit of a huff, almost as though she was expecting food to show up for her right then.

Sage chuckled and shook his head. "The old man had to deal with Anya as a child, and maybe even the queen too. He was already completely snow white when I met him," he cackled, eyes glinting mischievously. He wrinkled his nose slightly at the girl's mention of his smile, a light blush again finding it's way across his face. "I smile plenty," he protested, laughing slightly. Then he sighed and nodded. "I could eat," he hummed. "But if we leave Im bringing the blanket with."

Mari rolled her eyes slight... she knew the doctor had been there for a long time, though. At least since Anya was a baby. She then stuck her tongue out at the boy. "Noo, I mean a real one," she grinned at him. "I like the real one," she finished with a slightly cocked head. She then hummed and shrugged slightly. "If we shout loud enough then he might show up," she shrugged lightly, then called the doctor though, claiming that Sage had snuck into the bed and wouldn't let her leave in a rather amused tone... of course, that wasn't the case, not at all, and the doctor had already seen them curled up together anyway.

Sage rolled his eyes, wishing he didn't blush quite so easily for, seemingly, the millionth time that morning. "I most certainly did not," he protested, laughing as he talked. The doctor heard the girl's yell, and he just chuckled to himself before yelling back "he's not that heavy just throw his across the room. But be careful you don't break him like a twig." Sage snorted, rather amused by that, and yelled "well you're a brittle old branch then" to the doctor. The old man simply rolled his eyes, much to Sage's glee. "I won," he chirped, to no one more than himself, really. "But yeah, let's go eat," he hummed.

"Yes, technically, you did," Mari let out a gleeful laugh before flopping back down on the bed. "Ugh, I don't want to move though!" She commented before grabbing blanket Sage was wrapped under and hooking it over her face own shoulders, then stuck her tongue out at him in a teasing manner. The girl then forced herself up and offered him a hand once he was up again. She then took his hand in hers and walked him towards the doctors office with a groan. "Come on then twig, I suppose the we need to eat one way or the other," she finally complained as they got to the doctors office, then she let him go and slumped down on the couch laizily.

Sage snorted and wrinkled his nose, about to completely agree with the girl, but then she stole his blanket and he squealed in protest. He scrambled after her, sort of grateful for the hand up. He kept holding it, even if he didn't really need her support anymore...it surprised him, but he didn't really mind, and the girl didn't seem to mind either. He chuckled slightly and nodded, wandering after the girl lazily. When the girl slumped down on the couch, he took the chance to slide under the blanket and press himself up to the girl again. She was warm, and he wanted into the blanket. It was rather amusing, he thought, and he let out a tiny giggle.

The girl let him into the blanket and pulled it around the both of them with a soft chuckle before patting his head. Really, she didn't care if he pressed up against her... he was warm, and he smelled surprisingly good so she was happy enough to sit with him. She looked to the doctor with a bright smile. "I take it you made everyone food? And that you made your lovely assistant something too because she's ever so good to you and makes you breakfast lunch and dinner every day?" She asked with a jokey grin to the old man.

Sage gave the girl a wide grin when she let him into the blanket, and the grin only seemed to grow when she patted him on the head. The doctor snorted at the girl's comment, rather amused but not willing to admit it, and pointed his finger to the cart next to the couch. "There might be some leftovers in there for ya," he hummed. Of course he'd made food for the two of them, but he could still tease. Sage peeked over Mari's shoulder to look over at the cart and chuckled. "He says yes," he hummed lightly. "Whatcha make?" The doctor grunted in response and huffed out "food, boy." Sage rolled his eyes and threw an amused glance at Mari before shrugging and poking the girl. "I thought you were hungry. Grab the food," he chuckled. The girl was closer, so she wouldn't have to get up to reach the cart.
