The girl shrugged slightly and shook her head. "I can't recall the exact date of my birthday but I remember talking about it with the queen... when she was hiring, so she had my birth certificate where ever the hell that's gone. Apparently I'm nearly a year younger than the princess... nine months, I think. So we're about the same age," she shrugged lightly. When he rested his head on her shoulder she couldn't help the slight smile that tugged at her lips. She gave him a little squeeze and shook her head as she peered over his shoulder. "You're so negative about yourself, you know," she told him gently. "And you don't look that bad so don't diss yourself like that. You're handsome, very handsome, you have to be at least a little bit otherwise you would have never had that thing going on with the princess," she chirped before patting his back and turning off to grab the blanket to throw over his shoulders. "Let's go see the horses and then we can get going," she told him gently with a light smile.

Sage chuckled slightly and nodded. "Maybe if she thought about me the way I think about myself we wouldn't have had that issue," he muttered. He sort of just ignored her compliments for a moment, not really used to someone calling him handsome, of all things. He nodded at her next comment, grabbing the blanket she threw over him with a slight giggle. "sounds good to me," he hummed. The doctor already knew he was leaving, so it was all good. It wasn't like he had anything to pack, after all. He thought back to the girls compliments then, a light blush coming to his face all over again. It was odd, how nice the girl could make him feel. She was more.. excited than Anya almost. More...overall cheerful. He wasn't sure exactly what it was, but it was nice. Anya was nice too, of course, but this was a bit different.

The girl pursed her lips slightly and shook her head to the boy, rolling her eyes slightly. She just wanted him to feel a bit better about himself... better than he felt, at least. She knew he'd had a hard time... so the last thing he needed was somebody pointing out his scars and telling him everything that was wrong with him. She wouldn't lie to him, either though... so what she'd said was very true. He was handsome, and she truely believed that. She just wasn't sure what could happen or what someone could have said to make him feel so completely and utterly inferior. The girl smiled when he agreed. "I'll meet you down the yard then? I need to grab a few bits and bobs... and the tray of brownies too, my mother will like those," she told the boy with a light smile. She met him down the stables in the next half and hour, a big sack over her shoulders and a tray in hand. She found him with Chaos, as usual. "Ready to go?" She asked with a light smile.

Sage smiled and nodded, bouncing off towards the stables, waving at the girl as he went. He stopped in the barn to say hi to all the horses, and make sure they were fed and watered. He was delighted to see Mystery...the filly had grown a decent amount, and he spent at least a good ten minutes with the filly and her dam. Then he went out to Chaos, wanting to spend time with the stallion before he left. He'd wanted to spend a decent amount of time with both Mystery and the stallion....he really did love them both. He was there for a while, just resting on the stallions back, before he heard the girl bounce up to him. He grinned at the girl and nodded, slipping off Chaos's back and giving the stallion a big hug before wandering over to Mari. "Need me to carry something," he asked, upon seeing the girl carrying...a lot of stuff. Then he shook his head. "Rephrased...you're not carrying all that while I carry nothing," he hummed, taking the tray from the girl.

The girl shook her head when he asked if she needed help, a bit grin on her face as she walked, though she was a little surprised when he took the tray from her. "I don't need help... I do this all the time you know." She told him quietly. Though, she wasn't going to complain if he really wanted to help. "Let's go then," she chirped as she made her way towards the gates... she wasn't even sure if anyone would be home when they got there... her eldest brother, Anthony, was always working, and her mother was often out in the bakery trying to sell whatever she could. Her youngest sibling might be home, though... or out playing. Whatever, it didn't matter. They could get set up and have Sage comfortable before anyone showed up. "You excited?" She asked with a grin, clearly exited to see her family herself... she was an adult, and for some reason she got all giddy like a child at the thought of seeing her family again. Sage gave the girl a grin and shrugged lightly. "I know. But I wanna help." He followed the girl happily out the gates and down the road she obviously knew well. Her excitement was apparent...she was glowing, and practically bouncing as she walked. He nodded at her other comment and shrugged slightly. "I must say, I do want to see what a normal family situation looks like," he hummed. "And now you've gone and got me all excited to meet that darn cat of yours," he chuckled, nudging the girl. He'd of course want to meet her brothers....he was excited for that too...and she'd know it.

The girl gave a bit of a grin when he mentioned the cat... it was old and fat now, but it'd cuddle up and be a good companion. "You're gonna love them! Everyone," she giggled lightly before looking back over at the boy. "And they'll like you too. Even the good old cat," she hummed. After about fourty-five minutes of walking, the two were stood outside a sweet looking little cottage. I mean, it wasn't particularly stable, and the roof seemed to be falling in on one side, but it was home... and the inside was definitely more inviting than the outside. She wandered up to the steps and carefully pushed the door open, only to find that there wasn't actually anybody home... other than the cat, Ginger, who was sat on the table. She looked back to the boy with a grin. "You can put the tray on the side, we'll eat those later," she told him lightly before wandering over to a small room and pushing the door open, the one to her room. It had a large double bed that her brother made, and one of two cabinets that had all of her belongings... there were a couple of paintings on the side that she'd started and never finished, but the place was homely enough. She called the boy over and put the things down. "You can stay here. There's s key on the side if you need it... if you feel safer locking the door at night then that's what you should do," she hummed gently before sitting on the bed with a s soft sigh, clearly happy to be back home again.

Sage chuckled and nodded, looking around the house when they came up on the small cotrege. It looked nice...cozy and homely. Definitely better than the small shack that his family had lived in, and it was definitely more welcoming than the tavern. He gave the cat a wide grin and set the tray down where the girl instructed him, and then followed her to her room, looking around in wonder the entire time. He nodded in response to the girl's comment and plopped down on the bed next to her with a weary huff of air. He was tired...it had been a long walk, and he still hadn't regained his former strength. He might never do that. But either way, he could work hard and get stronger. He glanced over in the direction of the key and nodded. "Thanks," he hummed. "I still hate to put you on the couch though," he chuckled. "You know you're more than welcome to the bed...give me a few blankets and the floor will be just as comfortable," he told her, really meaning it. That way the girl could at least sleep in her bed after coming home after such a long time.

The girl chuckled slightly and rolled her eyes at him... she didn't really care what happened, but Sage was a guest in her house and therefore he could have the bed. She'd sleep on the couch, it was only for a little bit anyway. "Seriously, you don't have to worry. You take the bed, and I can steal some blankets and have the couch." She hummed lightly. She couldn't help the little snicker that escaped her when he told her he'd sleep on the floor. "Absolutely not! The bed or you can sleep outside, I swear!" She yelped to the boy before shaking her head. She heard a slight creek of the floorboreds, so cocked her head up to see the fat ginger tabby moseying towards the bed before jumping on. Mari grinned and sat up crossed legged on the bed as the animal made itself comfortable, a slight purr coming from her throat. She looked to the boy with a slight grin and picked the cat up before placing it on his stomach. "Give her a fuss," she told him with a bit of a giggle.

Sage groaned and rolled his eyes with a chuckle. "you're the most stubborn girl I have ever met," he huffed. "Except for maybe Liz," he hummed after a moment. He was fine with it, so he didn't really argue anymore with the girl, but he did feel a bit bad about it. He looked over at the cat as it curled up in Maris lap, a slight grin on his face. He blinked in surprise when the girl placed the cat on his stomach, but chuckled and reached over to stroke the cat, who walked up to sniff his chin and then curl up on his chest with a purr. He grinned down at the cat, more than happy to sit there and pet...whatever her name was.
