The girl chuckled lightly. "Sounds like Liz and I would have gotten along," she told him lightly as she reached over to pet the ginger tabby as it curled up on his chest... that had to be a nice feeling. She always thought it was. Or when they curled up next to you while you were sleeping, that that nice too. She hummed and shifted towards him, tickling the cats stomach as it rolled onto its back. "See, she's great," she chirped brightly. "And if you sleep in the bed it's more likely she'll come and sleep with you." She chirped lightly. "There should be someone home soon... I don't know where they've gone," she noted with a bit of a chuckle.

Sage chuckled and nodded. "Oh, Liz got along with everyone," he hummed fondly. "She was always so bubbly. Even when she got sick she wanted to make sure I'd be alright." He pursed his lips lightly and shook his head. "I don't know how she did it," he hummed. He always avoided conversation, unless he liked the person, and Liz would just hop right up and introduce herself with a smile. He grinned at the girl's mention of the cat and nodded with a chuckle. "well if the bed comes with the cat I suppose I'll stop arguing with you about it," he joked, continuing to pet the ginger feline. He shrugged slightly and nodded at her next comment, humming slightly. "I don't mind. It gave us a chance to get here and get set up and all that."

The girl smiled lightly at the way he spoke about his sister... he sounded so fond about the girl. She had to say, she would have loved to have met the girl. "She sounds amazing," she hummed lightly and went to tickle the cat again. "She was probably like that because she had a big brother like you looking after her," she hummed gently. "One of you should be happy," she told him with a gentle huff. She nodded when he said they could set up... that'd be smart. "We can get some nice bedding out for you," she chirped brightly. "And make some dinner... I haven't told them you're coming so it'd be nice to have something ready for them," she told him with a soft smile.

Sage chuckled and nodded, a soft smile on his face when he talked about Liz. It was a bit sad too, but then again he was always a bit sad, if that was the right word for it. "She was like no one else," he hummed, stroking the cat absentmindedly. He nodded when the girl mentioned bedding and dinner, and he wrapped his arms around the cat to cradle her so he could sit up without dumping her on the floor. She rubbed her head against his chin, then, so he rubbed a thumb over her head, between her ears, upon her insistance. "Yeah, we have plenty of time to make up something nice," he chirped. "We can do bedding quick, and then we'll have a few hours to make dinner." He did wonder how her family would react to her bringing a strange boy to the house to stay... especially her mother, and her older brother. She'd assured him they'd all like him, and it wasn't like he was trying to make any moves on the girl or anything, so he wasn't overly worried, but he still wondered.

Mari gave a bit of a smile as he spoke about Liz... she found that she felt the same way about her siblings... they were her everything, they really were, and she took it Sage felt the same way about his sister when she'd been alive. She smiled softly at the thought and gently went to take the cat from the boy then put her in a chair in the corner, where she just curled up again. "See? Cat person, aren't you," she chirped lightly and went over to a cupboard filled with pillowcases and bed sheets. She huffed and pulled two pillowcases, a duvet cover and a bed sheet out and dumped them on the crooked wooden floor. She grabbed Sage by the wrist and pulled him up with a bit of a grunt before starting to strip the bed, then went to put the clean ones on. She had Sage help but soon enough they were done. "That should be comfy," she hummed and she put a blanket on the end of the bed incase he got cold. "Sorted," she hummed before looking back to him with a grin. "What were you wanting to eat? I don't know what there is in the cupboards but I'm sure we can make something," she told bim lightly.

Sage chuckled and nodded with a shrug. "Cat person it is," he hummed lightly, watching the girl bustled around getting blankets. They looked warm enough, and comfortable, so when the girl hauled him up he chuckled and got up, more than content to help her set up the bed. He nodded and then cocked his head slightly, humming thoughtfully about dinner. "Why don't we go see what's in there and we can figure out something then," he suggested. "It doesn't matter much to me what we end up making." When the girl agreed, he started to walk out the door, and almost tripped over the cat, who was winding around his feet out of nowhere. He grinned and muttered "silly kitty" before scooping the cat up, seemingly much to her delight.

The girl skipped out towards the little kitchen... she had to admit, it was pretty difficult to do anything in due to how small it was, but it didn't take any fun of it out. She started to go through all of the cupboards and eventually dragged out some potatoes and an assortment of other veggies. She found some cous cous and some red peppers when a thought crossed her mind. "Have you ever had stuffed peppers? We mix the cous cous with some cheese and whatever else we want and they come out quite nice. I don't like them very much but I know my mother does," she hummed as she looked at the boy, who had the cat in his arms. She couldn't help the big smile that spread across her cheeks, nor the slight pink blush at the rather... adorable sight.

Sage followed the girl to the kitchen, more than happy to help make dinner, or hold the cat, whichever was easier for the girl really. He sort of just watched the girl bustled around and search through the cupboards, since there wasn't much room and he didn't want to get in her way. He shrugged and nodded in response to the girls question, humming thoughtfully. "Never had them, but I'm not picky, so I'm up for trying them," he told the girl. "What do you think kitty," he hummed, and the cat reached her face up to touch her nose to his face and nudged him before he started letting her again. He chuckled and grinned over at Mari. "Stuffed peppers it is," he chirped. Really, he'd eat anything...he wasn't picky.

The girl grinned and gave a bit of a nod to the boy. "Boil some water and put some cous cous in then," she chirped brightly to the boy. "You'll have to put the cat down, though," she told him with a bit of a chuckle. The cat, conveniently named Ginger, was getting on a little bit in age now... so no doubt she was enjoying having a bit of a fuss from someone new. And Sage seemed to like the animal too, which was sweet for sure. She gave the peppers a quick wash-off and then started to chop the lid of them off and scraped the seeds from the insides. She put them to the side before making up a little salad in a bowl, then made some dressing to go with it. She cut up some feta cheese into small strips before poking her head over the boy's shoulder. Once the cous cous was all puffed up, the girl chucked the feta in and told him to start mixing until it'd all melted and started to clump to the cous cous, then went to sit on the side where the cat jumped up to sit on her lap, clawing her shoulder for some kind of attention. Sage nodded and set the cat down, patting her on the head gently before slipping into the kitchen and putting the water on. They were done in no time, and he followed the girls instructions, sitting down at the table to stir when she asked. He sat down next to the girl once that was all done, grinning when the cat jumped into her lap. He reached over to stroke the animal happily, the cat settling down on Maris lap, probably more than pleased to have two people petting her.
