Sage chuckled and nodded. "We could make it at the castle first, just to try it out with their food. If it doesn't work that way we're not wasting anything." He shrugged slightly and grinned. "I've stolen plenty of things from the kitchen, but the cooks aren't there to chase me away this time," he added, a mischievous glint forming in his eyes. They could figure out a recipie somehow...the castle probably had one if nothing else. Or they could go to a library and look for one there if need be. He knew the old lady behind the stand may not want to give up her recipie, but they could find one either way, it didn't matter.

The girl nodded in agreement to the boy before taking another little bite, really just savouring it. "We can steal ingredients from the castle anyway... I mean, I'm the only person that goes in there right now, so why not," she hummed lightly as she looked at the boy with a grin. "No one will know." Really, it was a bit... morally questionable to be stealing from the throne, but they had more than enough, and it wasn't like anyone would notice if a bit of flour and sugar went missing... and she didn't think that Sage would question her ethics regarding the matter, though. She then cocked her head at the boy before bumping his side playfully. "I think our brownies are better," she told him with a chuckle.

Sage chuckled and shrugged. "well someone might as well use the food," he hummed. He didn't have any kind of issue taking things from the kitchen....no one was there, and the girl worked there. It would just go bad if no one used it. He grinned over at the girl and chuckled at her little joke and nodded. "Our brownies were quiet delicious too," he hummed, giving the girl a playful wink.

The girl nodded in agreement and gave a big grin to the boy when he agreed that their brownies were good too... they really were, though she didn't think that there'd be any left considering they'd left Xander at home with the whole tray. "I'm rubbish at baking... must have been your amazing brownie-making skills," she told him with a bit of a laugh before shaking her head. She had found that she really quite enjoyed baking with him, despite finding baking in general overly stressful... he made it fun. She found that he made everything more fun... even her work. Well, he was her job, and she certainly wasn't going to complain about it. It was strange to think that they almost hadn't gotten along, but she was certainly happy that it didn't go down that road. Sage was a much better person than she thought he was going to be... and she found that she enjoyed his company now. Edited at February 15, 2023 11:22 AM by Belle

Sage chuckled and rolled his eyes. "right, because me sending a knife into the wall because of the storm was all so helpful," he joked, knowing that really had absolutely nothing to do with the brownies. "You can't be that bad, you cook just fine," he reasoned. "Maybe it's not your...preferred thing, but you can't be downright awful at it," he hummed thoughtfully, though still with a glitter in his eyes. He was enjoying their time together...he couldn't imagine having stayed at the house to shower while she shopped. He would have missed out on so much, and he wasn't just talking about the cake, though that was delicious. He found himself wondering what he would have done if Mari hadn't been at the castle to befriend him...he would have been hired out of his mind. He loved the doctor, but all the man did was work, work, work. Sage wanted to have some fun too. Mari was a nice balance of the two things.

The girl rolled her eyes at him before giving a chuckle. "It was a storm! Storms are scary," she hummed lightly before giving him a look. "I would have done the same if I wasn't with you," she told the boy gently before bumping his side with her shoulder with an amused chuckle. "Besides, we were having fun beforehand! And you were being helpful. You just needed a moment to recuperate is all," she hummed in a kind of reassuring tone before taking another bite out of the cake... god, she definitely needed to try and get that recipe from the woman... she was sure the patients and the doctor up in the castle would like something a little bit sweeter. "I almost blew the castle up last time I tried a pastry... I swear to god I thought I was going to lose my job," she hummed with an amused chuckle, obviously excsadurating... a lot. She didn't blow the place up, but she did nearly blow the oven up, somehow.

Sage chuckled and shrugged slightly in response to the girl. "I don't mind the storms, it's just that any loud noise or sudden noise startles me," he hummed. He chuckled slightly and gave the girl a wide grin. "Yeah, what would you have done without me," he crowed in a sort of teasing way. "You might have ended up hiding under that table," he giggled lightly, nudging the girl playfully. He raised an eyebrow I'm question at her comment about almost blowing the castle up, a slight chuckle coming out of his mouth. "almost blew up the castle, huh," he hummed, rather amused by it all. "Sounds dangerous. Maybe I should follow you around so you don't kill anyone while cooking," he giggled in a rather joking tone.

The girl shrugged slightly and rolled her eyes. "Well, I was still needed to keep you sane, storm or loud sound," she huffed in an amused tone of voice. She then wrinkled her nose at him and chuckled softly. "Right! If you weren't there to keep me grounded who knows what would have happened," she teased lightly, knowing that she was very much the one that was keeping him on the ground... or well, trying to. It only really clicked when the boy chucked the knife around that he might need to be sat down. She then grinned at the boy. "It's not the cooking that's the issue... it's me trying to get deserts the rise that is," she mused lightly before kind of half leaning on him because the cake was in between them. "But maybe you should. Get involved in all that danger," she hummed before looking at him once she'd sat up again. "If it means you're gonna shadow me I can't say I'd mind," she told him with a mocking chuckle.

Sage giggled slightly and nodded. "Exactly. I was the responsible one the entire time. I think you threw that knife, actually," he joked lightly. He chuckled slightly at the girl's comment about getting the things to rise and shrugged with a wink and crooked grin, leaning back into the girl since she was leaning on him. "Danger makes everything more fun," he chirped. "Dangerous cooking? I'll tag along. Though I'm probably more likely to help you take down the castle than anything with my luck," he chuckled. It would be fine, no one would die or anything, but he had to admit it would be rather amusing to watch the girl try to bake something (and fail).

The girl giggled slightly at the boy's seemingly keenness to assist with her... explosive baking. It wasn't that bad, but she could joke. "What, you want to be my partner in crime?" She asked with an amused chuckle before humming as though she was thinking about the offer. "I suppose we could take the blame for blowing the place up together," she noted with a teasing chuckle. She gave him a bit of a look before nibbling on another little slice of cake. "Yeah, you're very responsible. I'd put my life in your hands, you're that responsible," she hummed, rolling her eyes again.
