Sage found the morning to be rather busy. Well, not busy but it went quickly. Breakfast was nice, and was still rather quiet since everyone was just waking up. Even Xander wasn't talking much, though he did hold a decent conversation. Goodbyes were short, especially since the mother still had yet to say two words while he was there, and Anthony pretty much grunted with a wave. There was no surprise there, it was more or less what he'd expected. It was polite, but they weren't exactly friends. Xander gave him a big hug, which was kind of nice, though he wasn't sure when he'd see the boy again. He nodded in response to the girls question, and set Ginger down on the couch, ruffling the fur behind her ears. "Be good, kitty," he hummed, knowing he'd probably miss the cat more than anyone else. Though, he had liked Xander, and would miss the boy too. They left soon after that, and we're heading back to the castle almost before he could even comprehend where they were going. Time at the little house had seemed to pass so quickly. He'd had a good time though. But, well, he was ready to go see the doctor and the horses and sleep in his own bed, soft as Mari's was. And he was sure the girl was glad to get her room back.

The girl wandered along quietly next to the boy, her usual approachable smile on her face. She was glad to see Xander so happy with the boy... really, she knew he had issues getting comfortable with people, but he really seemed to like Sage... she had wished Anthony would have made a bit more of an effort trying to befriend him, but she supposed if they were to see each other again it would be more friendly. Anthony was in big brother mode, was all, and her mother was a bit like Xander, only it took so much longer for her to loosen up around strangers. She was a bit more similar to her father in that sense, seeing that she was more outgoing. Still, she hoped being away from the castle for a little while would have done him a little bit of good... being with people that genuinely cared for eachother was nice, even if it wasn't for you... it gave you a little bit of hope. She looked to Sage after a moment and playfully bumped his elbow with her own. "Do you think you can be in a room without me constantly watching you now?" She asked with an amused chuckle. "Can I go back to my quarters tonight?" The girl hummed in amusement.

Sage wandered along next to the girl quietly, sort of reminiscing over the past few days and looking forward to going back to the castle. The doctors ward had sort of become a home to him by then, and he little room was like his own little cave he could curl up in after a long day. The girl's voice broke him out of his thoughts, and he looked over at her, chuckling once he'd processed what she'd said. He nodded and hummed thoughtfully, shrugging slightly a bit as he did so. "I think I'll be alright," he hummed in a rather amused manner. "And if I need someone I can just go bother you in your own quarters," he chuckled, nudging the girl slightly. Really, it was mostly a joke, though there was quite a bit of truth to it. If he really needed her, he knew she wouldn't mind him coming to find her. They'd be quite close, even though it had only been a month or so that they'd even known eachother.

The girl gave a smug little smirk at his second comment and kind of skipped a step forwards. "Ha! You can't do that because I doubt you even know where the maid's quarters are, never mind my own," she cackled to the boy. She knew he could just ask... and he'd been in the castle long enough to know well enough where everything was, but she could joke. And, of course, she was more than happy for him to come and seek her out if he needed her. "But really, if you need someone and the doctor isn't about, come and find me... it's what I'm here for," she hummed lightly as the castle just started coming back into view.

Sage snickered at the girl's first comment and walked a bit faster to keep up with her bouncing. "You don't know that. I could have been stalking you and you would have no idea," he hummed with an amused tone. He knew where the maids quarters were...and the rest of theaids had pretty much left, so it would be rather easy to find Mari's. "Besides, all I have to do is look for a room with a closed door. That means someone's inside," he chuckled, nudging the girl lightly, his normal goofy grin on his face. Well, it had started to become more normal at least. That had to be good, right? Anyway, he knew the girl would let him find her if he needed it. He just nodded at her more serious comment. "I know," he hummed.

She wrinkled her nose at the boy when he said he could have been a stalker. "Yeah, Sage, we've gone through this! You're only stalking me because you're so completely and utterly in love with me," she teased, rolling her eyes again, knowing that it wasn't true... but she could tease all the same. Of course, she would be a bit... weirded out if he was actually stalking her like that. She nodded lightly to him when he told her that he knew he could come to her... it was her job to care for him, but it was more than that now... he was her friend, a good one at that, and she wanted to be there for him when things went wrong.

Sage chuckled at the girl's tease and nodded playfully. "Yep, that's the reason I've stuck by your side all this time," he hummed in a rather amused manner. "It's all been because I love you so, so much and think you're just the most sexy girl ever," he snickered. Really, she was pretty, and kinda cute too...but he stuck by the girl because she was a good friend, and that was it. At least, he thought so. Maybe not in the future, but for right now, friends was good. Really good. Especially since he didn't know if he could ever heal enough to get into a relationship, let alone make it a fair one.

The girl giggled at his playful little jabs, and although she knew he was joking a light blush did manage to kiss her cheeks. She playfully flicked her hair from her shoulder and gave him a kind of sultry smirk as she hummed in a fake kind of thought. "I know, I know. It's hard to take your eyes off me. I can't help being so undeniably sexy," she purred lightly before shaking her head, another amused laugh escaping her lips as she joked on the matter. Really, she didn't care why he stuck by her side... she just enjoyed his company, no matter what was going on. He was a good person, and they seemed to have just... clicked. He was one of those people she just always wanted to be around, and he seemed to enjoy being around her... which was, of course, nice.

Sage just shook his head with a chuckle and eye roll at the girl's tease back. A light blush crept it's way across his face though, since even though they were friends he couldn't deny that the girl did, in fact, look rather appealing. It wasn't to say he wanted her or anything...it was quite the opposite at the time being, and probably for quite some time after this little moment too, if ever. But, she was pretty, and she could throw one hell of a smirk, no one could deny that. He found it all rather amusing though, so he laughed along with the girl for a moment before looking at her and cocking his head curiously. "Seriously though...why isn't there a special someone? You're pretty, and nice, and there's no way every guy you come across hasn't at least tried to ask you out," he chuckled lightly.

The girl chuckled lightly to the boy and kind of pointed her gaze at the floor as they walked, kind of thinking about her answer to the question for a moment or so. There were lots of reasons there wasn't a 'special someone'... more than she could care to list, but the main one was that she'd worked in a tavern when she was young... too young, and that seemed to put good people off. Of course, she wasn't there anymore, and she wouldn't go back unless there was no other option, but it didn't seem to make much of a difference once she told whomever she was close to. There'd been a small assortment of rather... upsetting things that'd gone on in her life, and it just seemed to make people look the other way... but she couldn't tell Sage that, could she? She didn't want him to think any less of her, which was stupid because he'd told her pretty much, well, everything... she didn't think a lot would deter him, but she didn't want to take that chance. She then looked to the boy with a slightly wrinkled nose. "It's not like I haven't tried to find anyone," she murmured with a bit of a sigh, trying her usual smile again, a slight chuckle escaping her. "Well, actually, there was one guy a year or so back. I really liked him, but you know what it's like down here. He was missing for a few days... we'd organised a dinner date of sorts, and he never showed. I went to check up on him at his house only to find someone had broken in and shot him dead in the back," she murmured quietly with a soft sigh, biting her lip for a moment as she thought about it before shaking her head again. Really, all she'd wanted was to settle down and have a family, but it did seem like a distant dream for the time being.
