Sage chuckled slightly and shrugged. "Well, he's not getting away from me now," he chirped. "He chose his fate when he adopted me!" He looked back over at the kitten, still stroking the little bundle of fur. He nodded in response to the girls question, humming in agreement. "She's perfect," he hummed thankfully. He'd had no idea the girl and doctor had been planning to get him a kitten, and it was definitely a welcome surprise. "What do you think about naming her Amber," he hummed after a moment. It was pretty, just like the kitten, and went with her eyes and coloring a bit...and amber was a precious stone, which the cat was precious to him, so...it seemed like a good one.

Mari chuckled to the boy, rolling her eyes. "I still can't believe he chose to adopt a whole adult," she mused as she sat up a little bit so that she wasn't leaning on him. "Let alone that adult being you of all people," she teased before getting comfortable against the headboard, then reaching out to stroke the now very sleepy kitten. She was a sweet little thing... and she was very glad that Sage liked her. Mari grinned when he proposed the name, and gave a bit of a nod before running her finger under the small animals chin so that she opened her eyes just a little bit before going back to sleep again, curling up around the carrot toy that had to be about the same size as her. "That's perfect, Sage," she told the boy lightly as she moved to get out of bed and set out the little area for the cat to stay in at night so that she didn't completely trash the place, then wiped the walls clean from Sages blood.

Sage chuckled and nodded before shrugging. "I guess he just really, really likes me for some reason," he chuckled. He smiled at Mari and nodded when she said she liked the name, rolling over slightly to make it easier for the girl to get up. In all honesty, the cat would probably sleep up here with him at night, and go everywhere with him during the day, but it was nice to have a spot of her own in here too he supposed. He supposed wiping the walls down was a good idea too...though he did feel bad he'd done it now. He sort of watched the girl scrub the walls for a moment and sighed. "I promised Anya I would do that while she was gone," he groaned before pursing his lips and shaking his head. "I'm awful at this," he huffed, really just meaning being a good friend and keeping promises and .. well, he was bad at a lot of things. The kitten had fallen asleep completely in his arms by then, so he sort of just set the carrot to the side and cradled her, stroking her gently and kind of half rocking back and forth.

The girl glanced back at him after a moment and scoffed a little bit. "He does like you... I think he's always thought of you as a son. As grumpy as he is, you make him happy," she told the boy gently before going back to wiping down the walls. It didn't take long so she washed her hands and was soon back at his side, perched on the corner of the bed. She glanced at his now bandaged-up arms and shook her head before offering him a gentle kind of reassuring smile. "You don't need to tell the princess. You couldn't help it... something scary happened, and it got to you. There's nothing wrong with that... we'll help you out, so don't worry," she told him after his second comment... she really didn't want him to feel like he'd done something wrong... he just needed a bit of help, is all. Obviously, the situation wasn't nice, but he wasn't just going to feel better with the snap of a finger.

Sage chuckled slightly and nodded. "Took him a while though. Anya had to threaten him to make him help me at first," he hummed in a rather amused tone. "That was the first time she carried me around," he snorted, alluding to their earlier conversation. He wrinkled his nose slightly at the girl's other comment and nodded, biting his lip. "Still, I feel bad about it. I've managed to stop it other times." He huffed out a breath again, about to go off on a rant and really just upset himself more, but Amber shifted on his chest and the small movement distracted him enough to stop him as he looked over at the kitten.

The girl rolled her eyes at the boy before taking one of his hands in hers with a soft smile... it wasn't a happy one, more like she'd just put it on to comfort him. "Sage, this isn't like other times. You had someone come in pretending to be your mother... that's scary," she told him gently before looking at the little kitten who'd by now rolled onto her back. She leaned forward to press a friendly peck to his forehead. "If the princess is angry about it she can come and talk to me... or better yet, she can talk to the doctor," she told him with a small chuckle before standing up again. "Are you hungry at all?"

Sage wrinkled his nose slightly. "I don't know how scary it was....I was just irritated more than anything. The memories that came with it were what screwed me over," he hummed. "I have nightmares about that anyway...that spilled it all over," he huffed. He chuckled slightly at the girl's comment and shook his head. "I don't think she'll actually be upset ..I just feel bad is all." He felt a light blush cross his face when she pecked his forehead, but shook his head sheepishly when she asked if he wanted food before yawning again. "I didn't sleep at all...so I'm not much of anything besides tired," he hummed in a rather amused manner. He was still a bit afraid to fall asleep again though...he didn't want the nightmares to start up again if he did.

The girl nodded lightly to the boy... in truth, she didn't have a clue what kind of things set him off. She'd just assumed it was because of this woman showing up and claiming to be someone she wasn't, but there was obviously more to it than that. But, he was trying to explain it to her... which she took as a good sign because she wanted to understand. She pouted at the boy, then shook her head ever so slightly. "If you don't think she'd be upset then why do you feel bad?" The girl was obviously curious... maybe it was because he'd promised the other girl. That's what he'd said earlier. She gave a bit of a hum when the boy said he was just tired. "Are you okay to be alone or do you want me to grab the doctor?" She didn't mind staying if the doctor was busy, but she did assume the boy would prefer the man to her.

Sage shook his head and sighed. "I dunno, I just do," he hummed. "It's stupid, I know, but I guess I just feel guilty about breaking another promise." He hummed thoughtfully for a moment and shrugged. "Let him sleep...he was up all night too," he sighed. Something else to feel about. "You can stay if you want, but I have Amber now...she'll help too," he admitted. Even if she was just laying on his chest, she was helpful.

The girl nodded lightly to the boy and kind of looked thoughtful for a moment before sighing slightly. There wasn't really anything she could do to make him feel better about himself for the time being. He had Amber... and she really did hope the cat helped. He seemed to already be in love with the little thing. "I don't really want to have you left alone," she murmured as she looked about. She could stay in one of the beds outside of his little area so that it still felt like he had his space.
