Sage couldn't help the rediculous smile that covered his face when the girl rested her head on his neck, or the blush that darkened his cheeks. He closed his eyes again, though didn't drift back off to sleep....he just lay there resting, and enjoying snuggling up with the girl. He wasn't sure why he enjoyed it so much, but he did....she was cozy, and smelled really nice, and he did like her a lot. Who knew, maybe as their relationship grew, this would happen more often. He certainly hoped so. He sort of rested his chin on the girls head, almost burying his nose in her hair. She smelled like the kitchen...sweet and spicy but also a bit tangy....it was quite unique, but nice all the same. He did like the girl and couldn't help but wonder what she thought of him. She obviously liked him, but how much? If he asked to go on a date or something what would her reaction be? He didn't know, and he was terrified to mess what they had up.

Mari sat patiently for a little while, just enjoying the peace... she was half asleep, really just bathing in the warmth and comfort the boy provided. There was a slightly subconscious smile on her face... she wasn't sure why, but she did enjoy this all. She felt him rest his chin on her head, and kind of leaned into him a little bit more if that was even possible at that point. She wondered what he was thinking right then... if he was as comfortable as she was, or so... strangely at ease. She didn't expect the boy to smell as good as he did... nor for him to be quite as cuddly as he was, which did amuse her to some extent. He'd come over here himself, with the kitten in his arms like she was a little doll, and now they were all curled up together... it just wasn't something she expected from such an intimidating guy, but it was a nice surprise to say the least.

Sage felt his smile grow slightly when the girl leaned into him even more. It was clear she liked him, liked all of this...but how much? Now that he had a stable environment, and knew he would be able to make a much more fair relationship, he couldn't help but hope to find someone, someday. Mari seemed like the best candidate at the time ...he would definitely be up for getting together with the girl. He would enjoy that. And really, he couldn't imagine himself with anyone else. Even Anya seemed so far away....though, she'd been far away for a while. Then he chastised himself for wanting more....their relationship was wonderful already, and he didn't want to ask her out only to have her refuse or make what they had awkward. He opened his eyes again, only to see the doctor staring at them with a small smirk on his face. His eyes widened slightly as his face reddened considerably, though the doctor just grinned at him and walked out of the room, leaving sage with a very red face and very confused mind. The heat gradually left his cheeks...not completely but it did dampen.

Mari laid quietly for a little while, just enjoying the peace... she was drifting out and in of sleep, but she was still very much aware of his arm that was wrapped around her, and she slow rise and fall of his chest. She found herself wondering what it would be like to actually... be with the boy. For him to be that person she could go to whenever she was down, someone she could talk to about anything. She wondered if he'd ever want to be that person... because she was more than willing to be that person for him. Or... where they really just friends, and she was reading too much into this whole thing... she didn't have a clue. After a little while, she started to wake up properly again, though didn't move much other than to hook a hand around the boys back and his shoulder... but that was just her levitating towards whatever brought her comfort, which at that moment happened to be Sage. She did have a little bit of a blush on her face... but it was barely anything compared the the blush that covered her cheeks when she realised that she was hanging onto the boy again.

Sage was more than happy to just lay there with the girl, for as long as they could. He could hear the doctor wandering about outside, but it almost seemed like a whole other world. They were in their own little world in the room, just the three of them. He felt his face heat up slightly again when the girl hooked her arm over his torso, but he found that he definitely liked the touch. Not that that was a surprise. He made up his mind to ask the girl what she felt about him later...he didn't want to mess anything up but his curiosity eventually won out.

Mari stayed like that for a little bit longer before deciding she should probably get moving, despite how tired she really was... and how lost in her own thoughts, too. She kind of groaned before moving ever slightly, but she was still very reluctant to move at all. She hadn't meant to fall asleep here... but she was glad she had. Sage had told her he didn't want to be in a relationship... so she did feel awful for even thinking about it. She wasn't keen on anything either, but... Sage. She didn't even know what to think of him. He was so amazing, he really was, but say that something did happen between them... what if it went wrong? What if something happened to him, or to her... she didn't want to hurt, and she didn't want to hurt him in any way either. He didn't deserve to be hurt any more than he already was. She still felt selfish for thinking about it, but maybe at some point in the future, they could make it work. Maybe. She eventually sighed and looked up at him with a soft smile still on her face. "You need to let me out of bed," she told him gently, slightly amused by this little thing going on.

Sage shifted slightly when the girl looked up at him to peer down at the girl. He sort of hummed in thought while he stretched his back and shoulders without untangling himself from the girl. "Do I," he hummed lazily. "I think I might just keep you here forever," he joked. Of course, he definitely wouldn't mind if that happened...well maybe not forever, he'd probably get bored...but they could definitely stand to stay here for a while. But they both had things to do, he knew that...and once they were up, he'd enjoy it. Amber popped her head up in between theirs, upon seeing they were both awake, and rubbed her head against Sage's chin, batting his cheek with her paw as if begging for attention, rather jealous that the girl was getting Sage's attention. He sort of giggled and reach an arm out to the kitten to drag her back into a cuddle, where the animal rolled into her back to play with Sage's hand, sort of batting at his fingers, which he kind of just absentmindedly wiggled above the cat. She kind of nipped at them too, but not hard enough to hurt, and she kept her claws sheathed, so sage didn't mind.

The girl gave a half kind of chuckle to the boy when he refused to let her out, so she just gave a bit of a hum and rested her head back under his neck. "But I have a job to do," she complained, though was definitely more than happy to stay... and, technically, her job was to look after Sage, so she supposed she was more than fine to stay for a little while longer. Not too long, though, because she really did have things she had to get done. She giggled slightly when the cat jumped up between the two and watched Sage play with the little thing for a while... the cat really had gotten comfortable fast, and it really was nice to see that Sage was getting on well with the little thing too.

Sage chuckled lightly. "I'm your job," he snorted lightly to the girl, not moving right then. He played with the cat for a few more minutes before rolling over and groaning and stretching. Amber hopped on his chest and sat there, staring at him. He reached over to oat the cat on the head with a slight yawn, shivering slightly as he untangled himself from Mari and the cold air hit him. He supposed they should get up...he had to take care of the horses, and he supposed Mari had work to do too. Though, the doctor knew they were resting and hadn't said anything, so it was fine if they were late. After another moment he sat up, grabbing the cat to cradle her so she didn't fall off as he did so. "Come on kitty," he hummed. "We got things to do." Amber looked up at him and meowed indignantly. "Don't worry, well eat first cat," he chuckled, patting her head again. Amber meowed again, though less loud this time. He set her down on the bed while he went to get her bowls and the food back. She'd laid down next to Mari once hed left, but when she heard the food her head popped up from the pile of blankets and she scrambled over to sage, rising on her hind paws and pressing her front paws against his leg as she looked up at the bowl, her nose in it before he'd even set it down. He chuckled slightly and slipped into the bathroom while she ate, and filled up her water bowl which he set next to her food before going back over to sit down in the bed with a grunt.

Mari rolled her eyes but reluctantly let the boy go as he went to feed the cat. She laid there for a few minutes before rubbing her eyes and stretching, though she shook enough got back under the covers, despite having every intention to get up... it was just hard when she was warm... well, the cold air had hit her like a brick when the boy left, but it was warm under the covers. She sat about until the boy sat on the bed, to which she poked her head out from under the duvet and gave a bit of a smile before going to wrap her arms around his waist, which made the covers drape over his shoulders too. It was a playful thing more than anything, though. She did have to go and work, but she could do it in a moment or two once she'd woken up a bit more.
