Sage chuckled and nodded at the girl's first comment. He supposed it was something he'd tend to do. He hummed slightly and nodded a moment after her second comment, shrugging slightly. "Probably. The water comes up from an underground river or whatever, so that would make sense." He was silent for a moment, thinking about what to say next before murmuring "maybe I could bring you there sometime." He wasn't sure if he should mention that's where his and Anyas relationship had started. He almost felt like he was betraying them both by bringing Mari there, though he knew that was rather unreasonable. Besides, he'd have fun either way...he did like Mari, and he did have fun with the girl, no matter what they did together. But for now, he decided to just focus on this date...if the girl felt like he was enough, then she'd accept the invitation to another date. That was a big if, though...he knew she'd loved someone else, and well...he didn't exactly think he was the most romantic guy out there, or a guy most people would want to ever get in a relationship with. He couldn't help but wonder if this was all just something she went along with this one time because she pitied him. He certainly hoped not...finding that out would hurt worse than if she decided he wasn't enough and wasn't worth being more than a friend to her. But, for now...he tried not to think that. He should try to be happy, as happy as he could be.

Mari hummed in response and looked at him with another small smile. "I'd love that," she murmured lightly as she reached for a little sandwich. She looked out into the water, small ripples from a slight breeze that brushed just across the water. God, it was so pretty here, it really was... she wasn't sure what she was expecting, but this was better, it really was. It was quiet for a little before she looked back at the boy, lost for what to say again. It wasn't an awkward quiet, but it was definitely still... quiet. She was trying not to make a joke because it was a date and she wasn't sure if it was appropriate but she didn't know how else to restart a conversation. She gave another light smile as she looked him over, and a slight blush did touch her cheeks before giving a bit of a smirk. "I take it the doctor wrestled you into the shower, hm?" She asked with a bit of a chuckle. "And a clean shirt," she mused lightly before gently bumping his side. He did look amazing, though... and anyone could admit that.

Sage nodded in response to the girl and sort of just turned his mind to taking everything in...the sounds, the scents...the sights. The girl was beautiful, no one could deny that. She was beautiful anyway, even in the maids garb she often wore...but now she was wearing a different dress, one that suited her perfectly. She smelled nice too...he couldn't help but pick up the faint smell of perfume dusting around her. He chuckled and nodded at the girl's comment when she spoke up again, rolling his eyes slightly. "Yeah...I didn't have much of a choice in the matter," he hummed in a rather amused tone of voice. He grinned over at the girl when she nudged him, another kind of giggle escaping his lips. He found himself absentmindedly running his fingers around the necklace....it was made of wood, so the small circle was firm enough for him to kind of fiddle with, which was kind of nice. Maybe he could make that a habit rather than scratching. Then again, he didn't want to do it too much and break it.

Mari chuckled slightly to the boy and shook her head. "What, you didn't want to dress up for me?" She mused quietly before looking back out to the lake once she'd grabbed another little finger sandwich. She nibbled on that before noticing the necklace he was fiddling with. She wasn't sure why she hadn't noticed it earlier... I mean, you could see half of his chest pretty easily, and the only thing you could notice on his collar was the necklace. She hadn't actually seen him with something like that before... but it suited him. "Where'd you get that? It looks good on you," she hummed softly, her light smile still resting steadily on her face.

Sage rolled his eyes and chuckled. "The only other time I've dressed up was when the other kingdom visited," he hummed. "I was gonna shower or comb my hair....the doctor went a bit over it than I would have," he murmured fondly. He looked over at the girl and cocked his head slightly. "It does," he asked in surprise, still rather un used to people telling him he looked good. "The doctor gave it to me," he hummed. "I guess it's a family heirloom of some kind." He chuckled slightly then, shaking his head in an amused manner. "He spared me the whole speech that he got though. At least for now," he chuckled lightly.

Mari chuckled lightly and gave a cocky-looking grin, though it was obviously a play. "Ah, so I'm as important as a kingdom," she mused before shaking her head with a bit of a chuckle. She smiled softly to the boy when he mentioned the doctor and gave a bit of a hum. "He wants things to go well, is all... and if it means I get to see you in a nice outfit I won't complain one bit," she mused lightly. She then nodded to the boy, slightly amused by his response. "It really does," she assured him softly, giving him a bit of a grin. "This whole thing suits you," she then added lightly. "Ah, so you might have a long and tedious speech in the near future, then." It was a joke, and she really was happy for the boy... that he had someone he could call his father, to have a family... someone that really cared about him. It would be good for him... and he must have been thrilled himself.

Sage chuckled and shrugged. "If I can get someone to be nice to me they're more important than anything else," he murmured. Then he gave the girl a crooked smirk. "So you think I'm prettyyyyy," he purred in a very flirtatious tone. It was just play, and the girl knew it, but it did have some seriousness to it...her compliments made him feel all warm and fuzzy in a way that no one else's ever had. And he definitely liked it. He didn't know what the girl wanted from him....she'd been on more dates than him, after all. What was appropriate? Did she want him to just talk? Did she want more? He wasn't familiar with customs, at all...and he wasn't even sure if he'd acceptance of this date was even legitimate. It could have just been to soothe his nerves a bit. He groaned and nodded with a slight chuckle at her next comment. "Unfortunately," he hummed. "I can't sit still very long...I think we'd both get distracted before he finished," he admitted in a rather amused tone.

The girl giggled slightly and kind of half leaned against him, "So that makes me more important than anything else now," she hummed lightly, her head lightly on his shoulder with a big grin on her face, and, admittedly, a bit of a blush at his crooked smirk. "I think you're gorgeous," she purred in response before playfully pecking his cheek. "You're a pretty boyyy," she mused in a flirty tone before ruffling his hair up a little bit. She chuckled softly when he mentioned the doctor's speech. "We might need to take shifts, knowing how much that man loves a lecture." The girl mused... it could very well be true. She wondered what they could do once this had all finished up... she was happy to sit and talk, though she always liked to have something else in mind just in case.

Sage chuckled and grinned over at the girl. "I dunno, Amber's pretty sweet too," he hummed in response to the girl's first comment. It was a joke, and she knew it....though of course he did love Amber immensely, though it was just a different type of love. That was, if this was love at all. He could just be fooling himself into thinking the girl was responsive. He felt a light blush climb on his face in response to her flirty comment, even though he knew she was just joking around. He giggled at her other comment, leaning over to rest his head lightly on her shoulder, knowing she at least wouldn't mind that since he'd done it plenty of times before. "It's either hours or two words," he hummed in a fond manner. "Either way, I might make you sit and listen just so I'm not suffering alone," he teased the girl lightly. The sandwiches were almost gone by then, but they had plenty of snacks left for the rest of the evening.

She groaned and stuck her tongue out at the boy with a bit of a chuckle. "Amber is very sweet," she eventually concluded before resting a hand gently on his head when he rested it on her shoulder. "But I'm pretty sweet too, no?" She mused before shaking her head. She then wrinkled her nose at him. "You normally don't threaten people to listen to your fathers lectures on a first date," she mused lightly, obviously joking. She didn't particularly care what they were talking about... this was just nice. "He loves you, that man... it's very sweet," she hummed softly before leaning into him a little bit more, just enjoying the whole environment.
